  • This series covers the construction of my settlement at Finch Farm. Apart from Place Everywhere no settlement object mods were used, and only uses vanilla and DLC objects with some additional assets being spawned using Console Commands.
In the second part of the series I create a covered seating and storage area, along with an additional settler home and add to the settlements outer junk wall.
    Mod List:
    docs.google.com/document/d/1G...
    0:00 Cleanup
    1:00 Shelter
    4:48 Crop Field House
    9:42 Junk Walls
    13:20 Crop Field Fencing
    15:31 Walkthrough

There you go again teaching me new hacks to make building easier. I am referring to the use of barn/warehouse floors to create a straight edge along which to build a wire fence. Another of your simple ideas that, once seen, makes perfect sense. Looking forward to seeing how this one pans out.

Lol, I always seem to struggle placing those wire fences, no matter how careful I am they always seem to veer off and end up at weird angles 😅
Great to hear you are looking forward to seeing more, thanks!

No stupid music? No yammering on while building? The best!

Nice! Loving this build so far. That angle had always caught me off guard, good to see it give some natural vibes to the settlement in this case 😊

You make it look so easy to place things in a way that turns out nice at the end lol. I spend half my time deleting things I just built to redo everything all over again.

Thanks! To be honest what you describe is exactly how I normally build… I just don’t show those parts and only record once I know exactly what I going to do 😉. Most structures normally take me a few attempts to get looking ‘right’, and when planning out settlements its not unusual for me to get halfway done only to scrap everything and start over 😅
Don’t be afraid to start over if things are not working out, I find taking the bits that did work and building off them often leads to better looking builds in the end.

Great stuff! The Finch family will soon have a nice settlement that will be renown throughout the Wasteland!

I love finch farm, I built a huge platform of stairs to get to the overpass and build there lol.

Looks very natural! I use xbox X and use place anywhere mod and i still have the timeout counter when i walk out the red. Idk if there is somthing im missing from it but i thought that it was supposed to have options for it. I ended up looking for a while for another mod and only found one that was easy enough to do but only extended the limit to 15second. Most cases its fine but id like it for it to be longer sometimes. Help please?

Thanks! I am using Place *Everywhere* on PC, not sure if Place Anywhere for Xbox has the timeout feature. Unfortunately I am not that familiar with mods available for consoles and don’t know of a suitable alternative that you could use.

I always plan out the settlements by building a ‘rough’ version first, and then rebuild them for the building series and tours. Great to hear you have been enjoying the videos, many thanks! 🙏😁

Was this before the script extender was messed up before the update I hope they fixed it

This was recorded a couple of days ago, I had the ‘update’ blocked as soon as they announced the release date 😆.
The script extender has been updated, as has Place Everywhere although sadly its missing a few features that I hope the author will be able to fix.
Still in no rush, and it’s not like the ‘update’ adds anything of value that I am missing out on while I wait for mod updates 😉👍.

@@unicron12002 Great to hear the builds have been able to provide some ideas, thanks! As long as you have an older save file (from before you updated) there are options to revert back to the previous version of the game, by either manually downloading it via the Steam Depots or there is a mod that will do it for you:
