Me too! But fun fact: Judge Judy is not a lawyer and has not been one since the 90s! She’s brilliant when it comes to the law, but she is an arbitrator on her shows, not a lawyer. The actual lawyer litigants have more sway over what is actual law than she does. It is just a TV show lol..
The defendant sounds outrageously intelligent. I would love to find people like that to have in my life one day! I can’t imagine the wealth of life’s knowledge and emotional maturity he could pass down to me!
Sometimes that info is public info. I know in nursing in the state of Virginia you can look up the status of someone’s license and see if they’ve ever had a report filed on their license. Not sure if law is the same.
JJ always researched the parties applied for her shows. Thus she often stated to them "how'd you think I know about all of this?" Because she did her homework to know which case was bogus or genuine.
the cost of housing and living in america is absolutely outrageous in the first place. we have children living on the street in tents after being evicted these days. im one missed rent payment away from having the same fate with my own kids right now and I have 3 jobs.
At my work, i’ve helped people find resources after receiving an eviction notice. Have you been able to find any local nonprofits to help? I pray you can find help, dear. In my experience, personal and professional, It’s much easier to find financial relief with an eviction notice (to stay in your current residence) than to be in a shelter and have to find housing. If you need resources, let me know. I’ll do my best to help. 💚💚
It's not easy to be a landlord. You get screwed by tenants and lawyers. And the bottom line is you got put up with a mortgage company for no payment. So everyone loses with bad tenants. Those rats are because the tenants did not keep the property clean and plumbing is from the tenants put things down the drain that should be put down the drain.
Specialising in evictions. At best they are a necessary evil but to specialise in them without wanting to balance the negativity with some positivity by defending tenants against unscrupulous landlords speaks volumes about the man

don't be fooled. Some of these veteran OLLLLLLD attorneys with like, 40 year PERSONAL careers, actually seem like they start to LOSE IT, after a while, that is, some competency and effectiveness. Frankly.........they can't keep up with the times, rely TOO MUCH on moves they played in the past, different social, national environment, and LEGAL environment, too. Old and experienced does NOT necessarily mean "effective."
This case was way too dull to be on Judge Judy, or any courtroom reality show. No real drama, nobody with 16 kids from multiple partners, nobody living on public assistance but appears perfectly able to work and nobody really doing anything all that shady (well maybe that lawyer was a little shady but that's not a big surprise and it doesn't make for entertaining television). I'd have been real disappointed if I came any significant distance to be in the studio audience. You can go to a real small claims court anytime to watch something like this.
It's such a Struggle for Byrd to go fetch papers and pictures from the Plaintiffs and Defendants...no wonder Mrs Judy didn't take him with her to her other Court Show.

@NXBXDY to get disbarred it takes more then just a mistake. As a lawyer being disbarred is the equivalent of being a criminal lawyer.
He was reinstated fairly quickly, so the disbarment might have been unfounded.
I don't understand why JJ even asked that question.
It’s not like it’s so easy to be disbarred lol. It’s like holding on to your license, there are steps before it gets taken away.
The plaintiff knew when he was disbarred, but first gave a "maybe" answer, then immediately knew when and how long he was disbarred... Seems shady...
