I’m 61 and I’ve been divorced 16 years. I have tried dating during this time however, it only led to frustration and several messy breakups. Since happiness is an inside job - I continue to focus on healing and my health along with work and my kids. I flew to Japan on three planes by myself last year to see my son graduate from a Japanese university. While I was there, I slipped in the Kyoto train station and broke my fibula bone in my leg. However, I still managed to limp around and fly back to the US by myself a few days later before I saw a doctor. After that experience it just reinforced how resilient I’ve become, and how much fortitude I have gained over the years.
Love this!!! You got this, no one said it was going to be easy. I can tell you that you are not alone. The dating pool at this age is definitely lackluster. I love that you were brave enough to travel on your own to Japan, I’m sorry to hear about your little mishap… This too shall pass ❤️
Boy can I relate… divorced twice and also been single the past eight years… love my freedom and my time to myself and I have no interest in dating now. I am semi -retired but work part time in a low stress job that fits my schedule and I enjoy my two grown sons and two young grandchildren… and my parrots! I feel truly blessed. Been there and done that and I’m convinced I’m not missing out on anything! 😁
I’m 51. I started HRT in January bc my estrogen had finally decreased to zero. When my estrogen and progesterone are not in balance for my body, I don’t feel good. With the drop in my estrogen, my cholesterol skyrocket to 260 w no change in my diet or weight since 6 mths prior. I’ve always had perfect bloodwork. Cholesterol rising is a normal occurrence when we hit menopause. Anyway, I started an estrodial patch of .375, I take oral progesterone (100-200mg pill) and a very minimal testosterone cream. It took about 3 mths for me to get adjusted to everything. I’ve never had hot flashes, so I don’t take hrt for any other reason than health during the next phase of my life. I want to age well. Estrogen protects our hearts, our bones and our brains. It also has positive effects for every system of our body. I want to maximize my health. I can’t see everything that HRT does for me, but I’m banking on its positive effects as I age. I’d give it some more time and realize it’s overall health benefits. It did not make me gain weight and I do not have nose bleeds. Just fyi.
You ladies are obviously of a different generation -- when I was your age it was being discovered that HRT was causing breast cancer. I'd caution you to proceed carefully. Never took it. Sadness can cause your body to feel bad. Pharma can be a poison.
In found your channel tonight. Your experiences resonated with me. I've come to realize I've been in multiple narcissistic relationships. Fortunately, for me I've always been able to sort myself and do things on my own. Your channel is the first I've come across that talks about moving forward. You are encouraging and I like that. I also like how you chose to live your life in peace. At this point I have no desire to date. Enhancement... exactly. I'm a good catch and I will not settle.
I’m 49…prob in the perimenopause phrase but from my own personal experience I feel great! However, I had issues with all birth control from the pill, to the patch to the vaginal ring. Those hormones were killing me. I’m definitely not a candidate for HRT.. so I will continue to eat well, exercise, life weights, get proper rest, manage stress, get outside, etc! You definitely need to weigh pros versus cons and do your own thorough research!
@@msstacey777 thank you!! I’ve been menopausal for probably eight years and just went on HRT a couple of months ago I’m just not sure that it’s worth it. I’m gonna have a chat with my doctor when I get back from my trip. I definitely need to incorporate ng training! I do have osteoporosis and that was one of the reasons I went on HRT. Thank you for your input really appreciate it❤️
@@Mamamoynes you’re welcome. I’ve been a Registered Nurse for 20 years in the US. 2020 was a huge wake up call for so many, especially us in healthcare. I know you’re in Canada but here our healthcare system is broken!!! So many doctors push pharmaceuticals because they really don’t have the time to listen to the patient, they have been trained to not heal or assist with healing but rather prescribe. I always encourage people to do their research, look at the data, discern what is best for YOU and have the discussion with your provider. Granted some people do well on HRT. I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago and ovaries were left for the estrogen but I’ve never had my levels tested. Do what’s best Emily! You may need to change the type of HRT. A 10lb weight gain is concerning. I hope it works out!! Enjoy your trip!!! ❤️❤️
Everything is yoked to having a man, being around men, acquiescing to patriarchy. It's frowned upon to keep women in their place. That might be a little deep but that is my experience. Before I married, I was at my best, happy and people didn't understand and what did family, friends, society want for me? To get married. They clapped louder for that than ALLLLLLLL the things I had accomplished. If that is too deep, I can just say, F it and live your life!

I stopped to look at your video because I saw the grey! It means your not hiding to not do nice stuff😉 I'm 59 and do Not know how to travel with a carry-on. Just my lotions and potions take up half of a huge suitcase. We have so much in common that I might be your Gallega cousin, but I live in NY🤔
I never had nose bleeds with HRT. I did gain weight and it’s hard to lose but not sure it would matter if taking HRT or not. Overindulgence is always a factor. 😂 One pump of estrogel may be too much. The progesterone and estrogen need to be balanced, in the correct range of each. I take a lot of progesterone because my body has a hard time absorbing it. There are some good health benefits of HRT, including protecting the heart.
I don’t have IG anymore, anyway you can mash like every IG post into one catch up RUclips post?! Can be like 2 hours long and I’ll just listen to it allllll 😂
