Please,friends don’t insult these hardworking people by telling them that they are poor,don’t have enough resources etc just admire their work and what they produce. No question,these ordinary skill workers are not in competition with a modern technology of the world including Pakistan. They are just serving the common person to full fill their working needs and at the same time earn some honest money for themselves,what is wrong with that?

Simple cheaply made pumps for use by farmers in the field who do not have a lot of money, power supply optional., (mains supply electric or generator) Working conditions are no worse here than any other small business in Pakistan or India. At least I didn't see any young children.

No chemical and mechanical strength analysis, no microstructure observations and is their any restrictions on adopting technology upgrades?
Only real men pour molten metal in open toe'd sandals and flip flops, the health and safety brigade would have this place shut down in a day, although these businesses are run on a shoestring they can produce the goods and provide jobs for many long may it continue.

It is probably some form of silica gel, or just a 'green sand' mix.
