This was an awesome drill! It gives immediate feedback. The only thing better would be the Milgram Experiment, where if you hit the ball wrong, you get shocked, and the current keeps going up and up. Each time you hit the stick, you get the point, so you have to adapt, you have to do whatever it takes to hit the ball first! And you demonstrated the drill great!
I’ve been using the tape behind the ball drill you suggested previously, placing the tape about a ball width behind the ball. . I’m starting to see great improvement in my low point control hitting foam balls in the basement. Much appreciated Nick.
Thank you! I will try this drill tomorrow. Your demonstration at the beginning was me 100%, fats and thins, very little control over my low point. I'm certainly not consistent.
Tried the drill this morning. Great fun!! Hit 4 balls. The first careened off to the right (I was intimidated!) & the next three were PERFECT! I call this the Machine Gun Drill. Wears you out after 2 or 3 times through. Sort of like pumping iron!
Hi Great video! I have allways wondered about the relation between low point and attack angel .When trying to lower my AOA i tend to ony increase the low point (after)
I was thinking of the best drill to work on low point when hitting off a mat as the other channels talk about taking a divot. Saved to my swing tips file!!! Starting on my SnT journey and this is a perfect drill. I probably won’t go that fast.😜
I like this video Nick. I played this back in slow motion and it seems you have a slight forward press before your backswing. Is the forward press part of the stack and tilt swing ?
I 've actually been swinging my club into the lightly snow covered ground ( Midwest, USA ) , trying to hit an imaginary ball, as this helps me easily see what my divot would look like.....I have noticed that my low point is too much behind the ball ...finding it difficult to correct....thanks much
When you hit the ball correctly, it seems. your left knee. moves forward. in. the back swing. and not toward the right foot. Does this help with not hitting the ball fat?
I would say it moves slightly inwards in the backswing but will be slightly more with the longer clubs to help me turn. Keeping the lower body weight on left side in the backswing and moving more left in the downswing will help you hit less fat. Certainly not moving the left knee inwards more than an inch will help you do that
I like john dalys advise for low point. If you’re chunking 2” behind the ball move the ball back in the stance. 10 second fix for me Been ball impact first for years.
🔥🔥💯💯A must watch video. This has to be one of the greatest drills out there. I can say this has helped me the most with this problem. Great content. One hell of a workout as well👊🏼💪🏼💪🏼. Keep them coming, Nick. Thank you. Now, with the wrist flipping in the follow-through, lol.A personal issue😆 😆 🙌🏼👏🏼🤙🏼👊🏼💪🏼💯 Thank you Brother....
This is great - also I see in that front view that you are not over swinging in the back swing - which I think is where I lose it - and pull off the ball - then hit fat.
If anyone is having a lot of trouble with this drill, first use shoe powder and draw a straight line on the grass or mat. Do not use any golf balls. Practice low point swing hitting the ground in front of the line. I like to warm up my iron swing by drawing a line in the SAND in a bunker and doing the drill without balls. The sand shows where my low point is and I can adjust. Then move on to hitting balls.
It’s the natural geometry of the golf swing. The center of the swing is the left shoulder so if you aim straight, swing on plane and low point at left shoulder you will hit down and to the right with the ball position behind the center
One bad hit and you'll be resetting this drill and collecting balls for 30 seconds. Not sure if this is a "good" drill for high handicappers. I'm sure the concept applies well, but whether it's convenient drill is another story.
This video needs deleted or amended. Low point is NOT where the club strikes the ground. Low point is the point in the swing where the clubhead is at its lowest. This will typically be right in the middle of the divot…not where the divot starts.
Great drill. I will be giving it a go. Hitting 90’s at the moment and hoping this will reduce my duff shots and get me into the 80’s.
Well put going to give it a go!
Excellent exercise, efficient and very revealing.
I just took a towel instead of a stick (which got damaged during exercise 😅)

Congrats on your recent award Nick👍👍
Thankyou 😁
I am a beginner and struggle so much with this. I’ll definitely try your drill. Thank you.
Great vid - playing off the current wet grass is slightly more challenging as I cannot get the same distance and take a big divot!
Yes grass is always harder to play from especially when wet

Nice one Dale keep it up 💪

I hope it went well

Nice one Carlos, its a great drill to go back to in practice sessions
Hi Great video! I have allways wondered about the relation between low point and attack angel .When trying to lower my AOA i tend to ony increase the low point (after)
Great drill thanks Nick. Would it be the same for Fairway woods?
I would move the stick another ball back at least as slightly shallower attack angle and bigger club head

Nice one Brent and no I wouldn’t recommend going that fast
Great drill Nick! Probably can't do 10 balls, maybe 4 as I'm hitting foam balls through a narrow doorway. Going to try this when I practise tommorow.
Good luck Carlo

Yes good spot Jack

What about for longer clubs, Nick?
Would you suggest hitting driver, fairways and hybrids without any lateral motion at all?
Thanks.
Yes but different setup Bruce
Is the yellow rod off your right Pecs or Sternum?

Thanks Tone, appreciate your support. Keep working at it 💪
Great drill Nick! Would this also work for say a 5 Wood? Or would you go to a larger gap of say 4 balls not 3?
You could but yes the gap needs to be wider
@@NickTaylorGolf thanks Nick I'll give it a go and report back 👍
Good luck

A lot of golfers over swing and struggle with the low point

Isnt it where the club is at the lowest point of the arc? not where it first touches the ground?
Hello Nick where would l fined a good stack and tilt instructor
I’m based in Leeds
As far as I know we don't have anyone in Leeds, I think the nearest is Preston but not ideal for you
I've tried drills similar to this but I feel like I start coming over the top and casting the club
I can do that but I hit towards the toe;) The other direction is what I am going to try.
what was the point in doing that so quickly ?
More challenging for me but i would recommend practicing at a speed you feel comfortable
Nick. I see you leaning to your left as you make perfect strike on the balls.
Yes funny that, no weight shift to the right 😉
For me it broke the alignment stick. So it's more for people who already hit the ball very precisely.
Alignment polls flying down range accross the country trying that drill 🤣🤣😁🏌️♂️
😂
Do teach stack & tilt method ……
Of course if you hit the stick in shatters flies up in the air and impales your eyeball. Maybe.
What’s your obsessions with draws
It’s the natural geometry of the golf swing. The center of the swing is the left shoulder so if you aim straight, swing on plane and low point at left shoulder you will hit down and to the right with the ball position behind the center
I would have a excellent chance of breaking that stick
Surprised I don't see comments of people hitting the stick. It would be a range disaster 🤣
Use a towel guys don't break your alignment sticks xD
New drinking game
have a shot every time he says best players in the world.
I’ve played better 😂
