  • This week I collected the Genesis combine engine. It’s from a New Holland TR98 (I originally thought a TX67 but was wrong). Once I got it in the workshop, I started pulling bits off and discovering what other things I need to order.

    How fortunate being able to swap those two with a hp upgrade. Good video.

    There's a lot to do. The new engine looks very fresh. Looking forward to seeing it running.

    The Genesis engine is awesome. My dad has had 3 genesis tractors over the years. Two were over 10k hrs. Reliable and good on fuel

    Hi, enjoying to progress on this tractor...
    Just a suggestion, is it possible to turn the turbo 180 degrees, this will give you the exhaust at the front and the inlet air at the back, like a TW-20, your obviously need to rearrange the oil lines with flexible ones, maybe!

  • @nfarnell1
    @nfarnell1 2 года назад

    The oil cooler and turbo are a fixed group in my opinion. If you lose the cooler lose the turbo. If the cooler simply willl not fit rig up some kind of cooler, even if it is a remote cooler between the filter housing and the filter. Just advice from an old timer, good luck with the project!

    You have a bit of a hurdle coming up, the combine uses 8 bolt crankshaft for the flywheel, your original Ford only has 6 bolt crankshaft

      @@dirt_and_diesel 🤣 only a small hiccup to you , the timing gears at the front are also different tooth angle on later genesis engines will only affect you with running original power steering pump.

    The water pump housing may fit with a slight modification, but is the impeller in the original water pump man enough for the combine engine?

    • @fatihcinarytu

      I had my doubts about that too. if it were me, I would prefer to bristle the original water pump of the engine, it makes more sense for me to get the movement by modifying the pulleys

    Always heard a combine engine was no good in a tractor. As a combine has a set raves for work. You need to do something with the pump

    • @dirt_and_diesel
      @dirt_and_diesel  2 года назад +3

      Yeah, I think it has something to do with the idle speed but I’ll either cross that bridge when I get to it or leave it as it as it’s not a working tractor, just for messing about with

      @@timothyschofield8046 it’s a good point. It’s not going to be running at full chat for long like a combine would and I’ve removed most of the additional cooling parts that aren’t needed so I imagine so long as there’s the same flow through as the original motor then I can’t be too far off. I’ll have to keep an eye on it

      @@dirt_and_diesel Fair point. But I'd rather have a check now for impeller size and number of vanes than risk having a poor circulation, with some pots running too hot. The new engine is a mighty beast and I'm looking forward to the successful 1st run.
