Then the clean ups come and they are beside themselves with frustration when their stuff is hauled away. You can't live on the sidewalk. It's illegal. But this has to be enforced with real penalties, not in this half ass way we keep doing it where they are allowed to come back again and again. That’s why Venice Beach authorities are going gang busters on vagrant encampments now.

I understand the three ladies that stopped to protest I really do. It’s difficult to watch this lady struggle with everything 😔 the shelters are a scary alternative they are dangerous. I have had past experience with it. I know the average person doesn’t understand why someone in her position would accumulate so much stuff. It’s when you lose everything again and again you gather things to form a cocoon of sorts. To give your miserable experience some sort of normalcy. It’s why you see many with bits of furniture, plants, etc. It’s true that they keep passing laws but provide no real solutions long-term. It’s easy to say buck up and get yourself back in society but when you’re in this position you have forgotten what that means and it’s overwhelming. My heart hurts so bad for them.
I've an idea that likely has many problems with it, that I haven't thought through yet, but Seems like some small cheap buildings could be built, 8'x6', in groups of 100 per location, with some porta johns nearby. The police are just doing what the courts and Newson mandated, so why are those women mad at the cops? And yes, Santa Monica Beach is a tourist area with a world-renown beach and boardwalk. Why would any city or state allow one of their major tourist zones be overtaken by homeless tents, trash, needles, etc. Those women need to hush and let the cops do their jobs.

They did a clean up a yr or so ago & the home less just came back like nothing happened why keep doing the same thing if police officers not going to keep the homeless off the beach area it's a sign of craziness doing the same thing & except a different outcome !!

I understand the three ladies that stopped to protest I really do. It’s difficult to watch this lady struggle with everything 😔 the shelters are a scary alternative they are dangerous. I have had past experience with it. I know the average person doesn’t understand why someone in her position would accumulate so much stuff. It’s when you lose everything again and again you gather things to form a cocoon of sorts. To give your miserable experience some sort of normalcy. It’s why you see many with bits of furniture, plants, etc. It’s true that they keep passing laws but provide no real solutions long-term. It’s easy to say buck up and get yourself back in society but when you’re in this position you have forgotten what that means and it’s overwhelming. My heart hurts so bad for them.

I've an idea that likely has many problems with it, that I haven't thought through yet, but Seems like some small cheap buildings could be built, 8'x6', in groups of 100 per location, with some porta johns nearby. Peanut Butter sandwich meals 3 times a day. Or some variation of it. Maybe some would accept such a thing.
70% of those mini homes would be destroyed in under 6 months. They would be storage sheds mostly. They want stuff handed to them, that's it.

Just like the people who want to let all tje world in when asked how many are you willing to take in to your house no response funny that same thing here are you going to let them stay in your front garden and do their drugs ect .as i say everyone deserves a place to stay but not everyone should be getting a flat/apartment until they are ready and able to take that on and manger it .
