This was so beautiful! I love this! And thank you for showing your timing and sharing the thoughts you had about it as well.
I'm having the same issue with finishing things! I have finished exactly 0 pieces in 2019 although I've drawn more than I ever have before that year. However, I'm not completely convinced that your advice to always finish is actually always the best thing? It depends on your goal. If your goal is to appear more productive, to build a portfolio or finish commissions - then yes, absolutely, always finish those things. But if your goal is to learn as much as possible or get better, I think you get a lot more out of the process of cranking out as much as possible so you have more to learn from.
In 50 sketches I can make 50 mistakes and learn 50 new things. In 5 complete pieces I've gained some portfolio work, but I've only got 5 mistakes to learn from. Just my 2 cents!

I think this portrait looks gorgeous. I love the colors you chose and the layout of the composition. I recently purchased some gouache and am trying to figure it out. I eventually want to attempt a pet portrait followed by a human portrait, but I thought I’d ease myself into it with landscape stuff first.

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for your Videos. Because of your tutorials and tips I became much better. I still have to work on things, like male faces, or ears (urgh...). But my drawing style has changed since I started watching your videos. Your voice is really relaxing, there's something about your voice that always makes me smile. I don't know why.
I think you deserve more people watching your Videos. But I can't control what other people do, so I will support you as much as I can.

Just wonderful! A lovely portrait! I started painting with Watercolor and Gouache over 30 years ago, one thing you have to do is let the paint dry. We had an oven with a fan at one place that I worked to speed drying times! I suggest a hair dryer, much cheaper. I am also trying to move away from realistic works, I choose soft pastels for the impressionist look and feel, who knows it might even work! I look forward to seeing more videos from you this year, good luck!
