@@imnervous5731 being able to draw isn't a talent at all. It's a skills that has to be learned from the beginning through your lifetime. Be better to pick a skills that you like because it'll helps you to relax whenever you feel furious. I like figure drawing so I'll study it.
I think it would be great to include old women too, people tend to draw a variety of male faces but always the same features for women faces and always young women :/ Btw your drawings are beautiful and you clearly improved thanks to this challenge!
I don't think that's her fault in this particular case though, I think it's Ahmed Aldoori's fault. It was him who created the pinterest board for this challenge, and he had chosen pictures where all the women were young and beautiful, whereas the men are ranging from beautiful to literal monsters. But I agree, ppl tend to always young, beautiful women.
And I don't think Ahmed Aldoori did that on purpose, he just chose faces but yeah I wish there was like old ladies but that's fine though if we want more old lady drawings we should pick up a pencil (do draw it digitally like I do) and try to draw them on our own and study it? I want to do this challenge and learn how to make more diverse faces. (Also when I see other famous RUclipsrs draw faces it does range from beautiful women to strange men faces that range from old to i don't even know what that is. I think it's because it appeals more to their eye and not as if they did it on purpose)

(Maybe not a particular character, more like I'm lacking a general picture, whereas of male characters above 50 years of age I have a descent amount of generalized types in my head.) See, I think something being visually more 'pleasing' is only part of the problem (if at all). Artists not always choose conventionally beautiful people as their models for a reason, I guess. I think between being appealing to the eye and having personality, personality will always win. ...The above passage should say something about our popular culture lol Anyway as a person who is strongly against trying to dictate to creators what's appropriate for them to create (it never works anyway)) I'm still glad more people start to see this imbalance and ask why it happens. Yes I was thinking this too throughout the video. It must be the preference of the person who created the challenge rather than the artist doing the challenge in the video. But I know what you mean, even myself, my art style is very cartoonish and bright colours and cute feminine characters and not really any older women characters when I think about it. It’s actually given me some ideas though. I think it’s kind of to do with how in media, there tends to be certain type of people predominantly on screen or online (young, conventionally beautiful/slim girls). I think we need much more diversity.

I love this idea and what you said about becoming "less precious". I'm a beginner so my drawings are shit but I tend to draw and erase a lot and I think if i just focus and practice everyday instead of worrying about making the perfect face I'll get better

I might continue and make it 200 heads. Watching you draw inspires me so much. Your faces are precious. Also I LOVE long videos like this so you're good. Would you ever redo this challenge? Would be cool to see your progress maybe. Just a suggestion.
This is really interesting! Ahmed Aldoori explains in his video that he suggests starting from the bottom of the Pinterest board, and that is what most people (myself included) did. That way, you start with more dramatic lighting, lots of wrinkles and such, which helps identify where the light and dark areas are, which means that when you get to the end, with the smoother, more subtle faces, it feels easier to me. That's basically the opposite of what you said, which is fascinating! I guess the thing in common is that drawing faces is easier by the end haha
I have an old sketchbook whose cover is already pretty dented. And it occurred to me that I want to fill it with drawings before the end of this year. and it’s just that your video is showing up in the recommendations. You gave me a great motivational charge and helped get rid of fears! thanks!!!

i started this challenge because of you and now IM SUFFERING. its day 4 today and im already at the point where i'm questioning my decisions. yesterday i wanted to give up so bad and i felt like everything i drew looked horrible but i still kept going. Wendy Tecum do studies (draw people) and don’t erase your pencil lines, also draw features of the face individually and then learn how to put guidelines onto your (heads?) people / / heads, idk hope this helps

I was drawing while I had this on in the background and I had to rewind at 12:28 when you mentioned Thanos and I cracked up bc SAME im STILL upset lmao idk if ive mentioned this already but your video format is SUCH a godsend I love the talky bits mixed in w the nice music bc it really just feels like Im drawing next to a friend and we're talking abt nothing and everything and theres moments of silence and its never awkward ;u;

Very cool! Well done you, even though I do think you're mad for doing it while swamped in deadlines ;) I'm tempted to give it a go. Maybe not as a 100 in 10 days challenge, but to use the board and slowly work my way through it a few faces at a time. I am bad at sketching, I dive into detail much to quickly and then I lose track of the big picture and lines get muddy and mixed up and it's a whole mess. Thanks for the inspiration, I'm going to dig out my sketch book now!

Yes I have started to do this and I actually did notice a difference in my approach and final product when drawing faces. It's somethng worth revisiting once in a while. I will be doing the same thing with figure drawing. THe concept will be the same. Cheers
It really does! If you do it completely you will see a difference between the first and the last! I did and I was proud, because it’s really hard to do it in 10 days

I love drawing faces...first time i ever did a challenge like this was in 4th grade..we took a piece of paper and keept folding it until we had a bunch of portrait squares and then we had to draw different faces in each square..I belive it came out to 28 faces...a lot for a 9 year old!!..I have journals of a bunch of faces..Im going to do this challenge too..Thanks...

Yes, she tends to make “perfect” women. She needs more variety for elder women and realistic women 30-40. Her art is very beautiful though.

I am bad at sketching, I dive into detail much to quickly and then I lose track of the big picture and lines get muddy and mixed up and it's a whole mess. Thanks for the inspiration, I'm going to dig out my sketch book now!

loved the video You have an enthusiastic pleasant voice, nice hands, and a wonderful bunch of drawings - everyone of them. Yes I have started to do this and I actually did notice a difference in my approach and final product when drawing faces. It's somethng worth revisiting once in a while. I will be doing the same thing with figure drawing. THe concept will be the same.

I love drawing faces...first time i ever did a challenge like this was in 4th grade..we took a piece of paper and keept folding it until we had a bunch of portrait squares and then we had to draw different faces in each square..I belive it came out to 28 faces...a lot for a 9 year old!!..I have journals of a bunch of faces..Im going to do this challenge too..Thanks...
