The film that had never been watched by everyone on its premier night. Titanic was called the movie of the year, and it was. It really was."

      destiny Garcia actually it's not true. The Titanic was £7 million which in today's money is like over £100 million so.. people are silly when they say that cuz they don't consider that the ship was build in 1908 and finished in 1912 which is more than a 100 years ago and u have to transform the money back then into today's money

    • @holyknight5960
      @holyknight5960 6 лет назад +7

      Even considering the inflation the movie was still more expensive. 'Titanic' budget was over $200 mln while the original ship cost 7.5 mln USD (not £, btw). The latter translates into roughly $170 mln in today's dollars.

And James Cameron, Music director was Genius. They bought the reality and emotions at the same time, to enjoy and cry with tears. And it was 28 years ago, still looks fresh. Surely this was one of the most favorite for the 90's generation.

      Isn't it obvious that the movie of this capacity would have costed more than the original ship itself?
      one of the major reason amongst the many being that the film was made in mid to late 1990's , almost a century later of the tragedy and particularly of the tine when the real ship was built.

    Titanic movie won all those awards for this very reason. It looked very realistic & U can imagine the actors felt like they were on the real ship itself. Many replicas were built for various scenes but the full sized model was extraordinary yet only finished on one side to save a million dollars. James Cameron wanted to make a memorable blockbuster & he succeeded. The man must have had nerves of steel & the biggest headache to pull this off but it was worth it. Pity this set & the interior sets have probably been dismantled now after 23 years. OMG, where have the years gone & the ship sank 108 years ago. Time waits for no-one but the Titanic will never be forgotten. James' movie will make sure of that as it is shown each year somewhere in the world.

      They borrowed the actual blueprints for the real Titanic from the manufacturing company and then decided to build only it's starboard side. But when they went back, they realized that the real Titanic left South Hampton on it's Port side, so they reversed the camera's to mirror the entire South Hampton scene. It cost them about 7-8 million dollars of their budget to re-make the ship, but it was necessary because they needed the full scale model for the sinking scenes because CGI wasn't advanced enough and green screen wouldn't be able to replicate the sinking to advance detail.
