Imagining Jonathan as J-Roc is really almost unfathomable. It just goes to show what a god damn good actor he is. And he just jumps into and out of it so easily.
Absolutely love the episode Jonathan Torrens was one of my favorite characters on the show and I love how genuine he is in this he sounds like a great guy!

As a 24 year old, this is great information. Especially the part about negotiating salary and knowing the value of your time.
Being from Louisiana, I loved TPB from the first watch. My ex is half Cajun (the Acadians or the Canadians) and the characters on the show remind me much of her family. One of the best crawfish boils I’ve ever been to was when her uncle got out of prison. Good people that do what they want to do and sometimes, they get sideways with the law but they’re honest and true. Great interview. Love it !!

I've watches trailer park boys show and all movies like 15 times over and always wished there was a bit more jroc injected in the show. It was a great character and I always wanted more. It never gets old going back and rewatching everything.

Great discussion. With all respect to JT, the character "J-Roc" does change over the course of the show. He becomes a father in Season 9 and has to deal with those challenges. He's patient and compassionate when he deals with MC Flurry who at first doesn't respect him. There's a real maturity there and in this interview I feel like you can see the influence of the man Jonathan Torrens on the character J-Roc. Great, funny guy, super down to earth.
JT is such a grounded person. More people should be like him with his mindset.

i only came across TPB a couple of years ago and just finished up the series. Its crazy to hear his voice NOT as jay rock. I do not know of any of his other projects, but I am interested in checking them out.

I'm from New Hampshire USA, we share a small border with Canada, clearly Trailer park boys spoke to me b'c our behaviors, cultures, are very similar, and it reminded me of every trailer park in New Hampshire to Vermont, Maine; I've been told from Canadians just because you hold a US passport doesn't mean you're not Canadian. You're looking at an Honorary Canadian boys. Thank you for this conversation, it was really interesting for me to see and hear.
