ABOUT WELCOME TO KOWLOON:
This is an indie horror from the first person, in which you find yourself in an area called Kowloon in search of cheap housing. The inhabitants of this place only at first glance seem to be ordinary people, but if we dig deeper, we will see their real faces.
There was actually a bag of dogfood in the room where you get the apartment key from, so sad you missed it Fooster!
Was going to mention that. It was literally sitting in a basket on the stool at the store lol Although it is hard to tell what you can interact with
*Keeps talking about give food to the dog
* Look in every corner
* Go right past the actual dog food and don't try pressing anything
I died a little inside when I thought I saw it, it had like different lighting on it and looked interact-able.
💯 there was something behind that wall when you were coming down the stairs to get the key.
yes you can feed the dog. :( poor doggy
Pretty sure the character you played as hung themself Fooster. You were swinging the whole time from a high elevation looking down. I think that final jump scare is supposed to illustrate the PTSD the character experienced even after leaving “Kowloon”; which would explain why they took their life. Great play
i have been scrolling through the comments to try and find this to make sure i wasnt alone in thinking that!
Totally agree with this take.
I agree
The atmosphere is what freaks me out the most. The jump scares are bad but the way my blood pressure would be constantly high because of the environment. And the moans of that one guy, ugh. Cool playthrough and cool game.
😂 same tbh
7 nights again?@@thefoosterchannel
Made me laugh so hard that Olaf had to play it first, I can just hear Olaf yelling and screaming in fear, Fooster, Fisk,Taco and Olaf hands down my most favorite RUclips content creators! Thank you again Fooster for yet another amazing video, I always look forward to all the new videos.
Most definitely!
What is olaf youtube channel
I only discovered them last month and I've been watching their gameplays nonstop! Such good entertainment. So happy I stumbled across them. Just good silly vibes!
@@LeboyLeboy-qw5xj @OlafPawbelt
I love how at 42:03 you casually miss and glide past the jump scare :D I felt good for you mate you needed a breather!
I’m so glad I missed that!
That's my first time seeing that, actually. Everyone I've watched so far turns before it shows up :(
Was it the person behind the glass door? I thought I saw someone.
@@jameshopkins503 yeah I believe so
It was the shadow from the flashlight because he stood so close to the door the reflection plus the shadow created a illusion of a person. Unintentional, but still so cool.
This is a certified "watching with my eyes closed"video😂.
All I need to do is listen to Fooster and his progressively stressed out and hoarse voice, so I consider this video watched...or more like listened to😂
😂
Yeah same here. Thanks for the heads up
I love this!
Fooster:
"We are on a horror quest and see what kind of shenanigans this accursed city has to offer."
Also Fooster:
"PUPPY!!!!"
Never change.
Love how you jump at every little thing, and then when the lady is watching you in the doorway at 26:50, you don’t even acknowledge it lmao
Yeah, he completely missed it. Probably good for his heart. LOL
42:05 I'm pretty sure he also missed this. some human shape just actually walk by at the other side of the door

@@Senzawa69 I just commented about this! xD
That first shoulder around the corner is so well done, it really makes you question if you actually saw something or if you're just jumpy. I'm glad I was watching a video so I could just go back and check.
I grew up in a house built in 1800s and that background sound in the store is what i would often hear when i was in my attic room downstairs, full blown conversations/parties and when i came down shouting for my parents, no one was there and it was silent. Always creeped me the fuck out!
😮 uhm. That does indeed sound a bit unnerving
@@cherrydragon3120 it was creepy! Haha, didnt ever see much, the odd shadow figure but the cold spots through that house would always be freaky too! Its become a talking point with my sister who also used to hear the same things!
@@dejuren1367 oh i know, i have experiemced that in the woods many times, but there wasnt really anything to make noise, youd go down and as soon as you went to the ground floor, it would stop! Very weird and the fact my sister used to experience it too is quite odd. I used to think it may be groups of people walking by outside but the street was often completely dead silent.
Had afew moments in that house i cant explain, my mum even passed in that house so there is an aura about it for me that i cant deny may sway my opinion.
wait, they got your parents. I'm sorry.
Maybe I should do that to my friends with a wifi speaker

The ending of this game was phenomenal. It reminded me of a Star Trek episode where the crew of Voyager (I think) got close to a monument that implanted the memories of a brutal war onto them as a memorial to the victims of the war. It's not a direct correlation, but this game seems to do a similar thing, which is draw the player into the horrific destruction of Kowloon, so that the utter horror of the city's final days would not be forgotten, and could be told to others. The last ghost that shows up on screen is that of the little girl, directly connecting the events reported by the news to the experience of the player whilst in Kowloon, confirming that the government did resort to killing the residents to accomplish their goal of clearing the city. The events of the game are a creation of the lost spirits of Kowloon to reveal what happened to the player, creating a horrific monument to the city's victims, forcing the player to experience their trauma. Since everything experienced in the game is one long hallucination, the dog is clearly not real, but is symbolic; the dog represents the lost souls of Kowloon - hungry for justice, and a kindly presence indicating that no actual harm is being posed to the player, just a reminder to the player that once you can, you should satisfy their hunger for justice. What a horrific, deeply artistic game.
Golden comment ❤
As he passed the bag of dog food multiple times 😂
As others have mentioned, the Kowloon Walled City was a real location in Hong Kong and has a pretty fascinating history. I never went there myself (I was just a kid when they demolished it - and even if I had been older, I doubt I would of!) but we used to visit Hong Kong regularly and I remember flying into the old airport (which I highly recommend you take a look at in and of itself if you've not seen it - it was quite the experience) and seeing the city from the plane. It always felt surreal and even having travelled fairly extensively since, I've yet to see anywhere quite like it.
On a secondary note, this is the closest I've seen Fooster to dying of a heart attack in-game!
Yep, you're not wrong. Flying into Kai Tak, looking down (and sometimes up) into apartments. Visited Kowloon walled city as part of a tour - you didn't go there alone or uninvited. It basically looked like this.. plus humidity, a barrage of smells, lots of small movements in the corners. Hard living but a cool place!
That's the area where jean Claude Van Damme walked thru the alley to get to the blood sport tournament
I nearly died when the lady screamed and ran towards him
One of Tokyo's coolest arcades, Warehouse Kawasaki, based their entire aesthetic on Kowloon. Sadly, went out of business in 2019. But it got me researching the Walled City.
Kowloon looked like a giant concrete box from the outside as far i know.
Foster the kowloon walled city is an actual city that is in fact as congested as the game suggests. Knowing this kinda makes me like the premise of this game and I might get it for myself.
It _was_ an actual city, but it was taken down and now it is a park.
it was an illiegal city foreign authorities found out and Honk Kong and China di not liekd that one bit
and yes, they would have stuff there that don't make sense. They build what they can, and no permit was needed, because no one administered it. It was Chinese piece of land in Hong Kong. SO Hong Kong had no Jurisdiction, and CHina had jurisdiction, but Hong Kong won't let officials get there
28 minutes in and can honestly say this is the first horror game I've watched from you that every jump scare so far has gotten me. You are anticipating them, but they are timed so well you cannot be ready. Well made and props to the devs!
Probably the most terrifying game I've seen you play, Fooster. When I heard the patting of footsteps at 30:46, my hair was standing on the back of my neck!
😂
I’ve seen 3 different people play this before and the jumpscares still got me so hard, i had to put my tea down before i threw the cup. Ngl, I’d never be able to play this. Thank you for putting yourself through this for us! xD
Thank you for caring so much about the doggo. You’re the only one I’ve watched that really wanted to save it. 😊 Great play through!!!

When Fooster came across the beautiful little hideout, it made me wonder
what Newt (from 1986 Aliens) must have gone through evading xenomorphs
alone until Ripley showed up. That would be quite the horror game…
I can't believe you didn't see the dog food, it looks so out of place there as well so everybody notices it :D

The more I watch your videos the more I notice you saying “eww!” to things. Love all your mannerisms! ♥️☺️Brings me great joy!
YES! I was JUST saying i couldnt wait for more solo horror content on your million sub post. Keep up the great work foos!
The scariest thing is probably this being the most densely populated city that ever existed and there is nobody to be seen.
Like in many horror games, reality is kind of just out of reach. As if you were living on an alternate plane of existence.
"Usually my sense of direction is IMPECCABLE" uhh...Fooster...you know we watch your videos, right? :D
As I told in one of your previous videos, "HORROR scares the life of out of me" and as usual, I opened this video and then opened ANOTHER TAB to play games in silent more....of all the hilarious shrieks, I MADE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE at @55:30 to view the ending and GODDAM, my SOUL DIED from the horror.......Great video @Fooster......it was as usual fun to HEAR your hilarious commentary...

There's literally 2 locked door in the apartment other than the landlady. If not the front door got to be the balcony. The game is giving you so many chances and you continue to wonder around the apartment until the landlady is done in the bathroom. just wow.
I already liked watching your videos, but your love for the dog made me love your videos!!
So glad you are finally playing this!! Hope all is well with you and your family ❤ this was a real place and has a creepy history if you read up on it.
Is it "dog food" or dod that IS food since I know kowloon sold it at one point? Havent watched vid yet not sure I want too. :(

JF Christ, when that thing jumped out of the darkness I knew exactly how Fooster felt - my heart almost stopped too.
Kowloon Walled City really did exist, it was once the smallest "city" in a city with the most dense population in the world.
Actually terrifying, when you've been told about the yard, i was completely dumbfounded by what it actually looked like. 😮

Looked over that dogfood bag over 3 times, literally the biggest brightest boldest thing in the room lol It was the first thing I saw as soon as the door opened, maybe I'm just used to yellow being caution so my eye was drawn to it?

I recently found this channel and I love the way you're both equally delighted and horrified by scary games. You play strategically and you read all the notes but you're not too stuck-up or jaded for the horror to not affect you. It's such a great experience finally finding a youtuber that plays games how I would!
Foosters love for all puppers is adorable 🥰
Kowloon walled city does really exist, you can look it up. Thank you for this Fooster! Enjoyed it and had a good scare XD
Nothing better than Fooster get frightened
I think the scariest thing is that Kowloon, as in the city, the walled city, actually exists and it looks really claustrophobic just from the pictures that exists of it and accounts from those that lived there...
Love watching him play horror games but his attention to detail sucks. Lmao
LOL, only Fooster could make something so horrifying a hilarious experience. 10/10!
Love me some scary game playthroughs
I'm sad there are so many cheap jump scares, though. A proper horror game does not rely on them; in fact, does not have cheap jump scares at all.
Otherwise, this game is absolutely fantastic. The graphics, the atmosphere, the sound design is wonderfully done.
4:45 The main mission!
13:11 Nope. First time for me too.

I heard a bunch about this game but stayed away from any spoilers until I could watch your playthrough. Thanks Fooster! Been looking forward to this one.
You're the fourth gamer I have watched playing this game and miss the dog food in the store. You're so thorough in places, and yet you have totally disregarded the brightest pack in the store... shame on you, Fooster! You left the pupper hungry!
Kowloon was an actual place back in the days and it looked even more disgusting but the reason why things are placed at weird spots like the toilet is because before being a walledcity, it was a military base, when ppl started moving in they found ways to live by and had to improvised
It is neat someone made a game based on the real city of Kowloon that was demolished in either '94 or '95.
Nah dude, the Kowloon walled city was a literal horror show
when they finally demolished it there were bodies found completely decomposed and nothing remaining but sludge
It was such a claustrophobic location that you were likely to have your barber living in the room above you, and the bar below you.
If you found an open space you were probably on top of a set of rooftops so close to each other that the gap you could stick your leg down might shift and get your leg stuck permanently
Ohhh this is gonna be fun. 😂
Also CONGRATS on the 1 Million Subs 😁
