Your cinematography with moving the wagon around and keeping the car stationary... 💯👍
Thank you 🙌
That indeed was fantastic.
That was pretty satisfying

your channel has singlehandedly made me a saturn wagon lover. help me lord.
The humour on this channel 😂😂😂😂👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️
As a european, a Saturn station wagon is impossibly rare and cool. Would be the darling of almost every car meet over here.
I live in the US, and honestly they're pretty rare to see here as well, maybe not as rare as they would be for you, but you dont see hardly any
@@goosenotmaverick1156 Yeah, I have gathered as much, but as far as I know, they never had a presence in the european market at all, meaning any such car existing on european road is imported second hand or gray market.
Very few europeans know of the Saturn brand, and this car is perhaps not the kind that garners very large attention in general in its time. It is therefore not certain that even a single one of the wagons like the one in this video have ever seen european roads. Cheers.
@@GoldenCroc I was not aware they were not originally marketed there. I would have to agree with you, the likelihood that one got brought over at all is pretty slim. Thanks for the info!

That outro video was oddly satisfying. I hate cleaning up, but I enjoy the feeling once everything is back in its place.
"So, I suddenly found myself in a field full of Saturns. Was this heaven, or was I still dreaming?" I laughed way too hard at that.

Love to see real Saturns still crawling around! I still remember going to the dealership with my mom when she bought a brand spanking new 1993 SL2 off the showroom floor. Learned to drive in a 1997 SL2. Many good memories, keep up the good work :)
In german using definite articles is "a bit" tricky. Correct would be "der Wagen", as the voice of Wagen is maskuline and the article "der". If one uses "Auto" (from Automobil) instead of "Wagen", it's easier - as the voice of Auto is neutral and the neutral article is "das". I love your videos, can't wait for the next episode !
lol @ "this saturn crew cab" i love that haha
Heh heh, the first thing I thought about that fender was put it on first to make sure it fits and then paint it if you like it. It wasn't because I know anything about different Saturn models, it was just my lifelong misery at the expense of the law firm of Murphy, Murphy, and Murphy.
What an excellent little car. People used to bring these to SCCA Autocross back when "street" class cars could run slicks. Factory-fresh twin-cam Saturns showing up with massive Hoosiers on and absolutely cleaning house... until people realized stock suspension and sticky rubber had a tendency to flip these cars over on their roof!
Hi Jake! LOL... Hopefully the Walmart tires aren't too sticky and I can keep this one off of its roof.
Sweet!!
For some reason your voiceover narration is giving me huge "How It's Made" vibes in this video.
Glad you ended up in my feed…have always had a soft spot for Saturn. Your commentary is informative and quite entertaining…..subscribed!
Watching this channel reminds me of wrenching on my 94 when I was in high school. Never should have sold that car...
Crazy that I’ve watched so many of this dudes videos now and my favorite one is him getting an old pos Saturn dialed in. Just like regular car repair.
Excellent as always. Glad to see the old Saturns get some love. Nice framing, good job building scenes, deft handling of the overpaid actor - it seems your cameraman/cinematographer/director is definitely in line for a raise.
...if not an Oscar, with those Apocalypse Now allusions!
The high camera angle in the thumbnail was quite flattering and made the car look like a Rover SD1! Great vid. New subscriber!
Rotors just have pad deposits from sitting I bet. Several more hard stops probably would have cleaned them up, but new brakes just feel great and inspire confidence. Plus it helps alleviate any MPG issues caused by brake drag, especially the new calipers. The car deserved some fresh parts. The coating on the rotors will last quite a while in non-salted non-snowy environments. Even then it does help keep stuff from looking like rusty death for a few years. I have lots of experience. If the black or silver coatings last more seems to depend on the brand.
I like the balance of professionalism and silliness as always in your vidoes!
Saturn SW2 with manual transmission and cruise control!! ❤
Clogged/Malfunctioning EGR valves were super common on these. Replaced many of them back in the day. Nice spray can paint job!
The ending was so soothing. Can't wait for more

4:15 Moral of the story: Always test fit your parts before you paint them. I think all of us have hit that issue once and never fogot that.
Nicely done! The wagon is shaping up!
Cat's, as well as other animals' noses, have their own unique print, much like a humans fingerprint.
Everyone has a favorite sandwich, often prepared to an exacting degree of specification: Turkey or ham? Grilled or toasted? Mayo or mustard? White or whole wheat?
The tuna salad sandwich originated from an impulse to conserve, only to become a symbol of excess.
In the 19th century - before the era of supermarkets and cheap groceries - most Americans avoided wasting food. Scraps of chicken, ham or fish from supper would be mixed with mayonnaise and served on lettuce for lunch. Leftovers of celery, pickles and olives - served as supper “relishes” - would also be folded into the mix.
The versions of these salads that incorporated fish tended to use salmon, white fish or trout. Most Americans didn’t cook (or even know of) tuna.
I enjoyed the video very much. I bought a Corolla and went thru it some what like you did with the wagon. I have about $1300.00 in my car with a timing chain, VVT gear on the intake cam, front pads and rotors and of course LOF, wipers, cabin filter and a left rear tail light. Keep the repair videos coming, motor mounts and what ever. Thanks.

Well done.
Good luck with getting your hearing back. That can’t be fun. Looking forward to the diesel swap and more wagon testing!
I love these old Saturn's
New to your channel. These reports are fantastic to watch. As someone from the Netherlands I'm not really familiar with the Saturn brand, but I do remember seeing the SL2s when I visited the US years ago. I think the design of Saturn cars of that era has aged really well and they do have a cool 90s vibe. Manual / stick transmissions are actually very common over here, only in the last couple of years cars are getting automatics more often as the market changes to hybrids etc. I own a Peugeot 108 which is a sub-compact city car. It's light (1874 lb), has a 998cc 3-cylinder engine and a manual 5-speed. I regularly get ~52 MPG when daily commuting (30 minute drive). These sort of cars (Volkswagen Up, Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 108) are really common in the Netherlands as the monthly road tax on cars is calculated based on the weight of the vehicle, and the fuel prices are high at USD 7,10 per gallon (EUR 1,90 per liter).
I'm really looking forward to the next videos in the series!
Loving the channel!!!
I say Duke is a keeper. Thanks Jimbo.
Anyone else kinda want a Saturn wagon now?
Never have I wanted one more hahaha
Nope. I’d much prefer a Geo.
I had one of these in the exact same color. The one thing I absolutely hated about it is how when you put it in park it crushed your coffee cup in the cup holder and you couldn't take the cup out.
Never thought I’d say it but I do want a Saturn wagon now.
Yup
We just got back from a trip to three national parks in Utah and then flew out to visit my sister and family in Pennsylvania. We had a great time but am.happy to be home!
We have visited San Francisco many times over the years and Dolores Park is one of my favorite places in the city. We did a little camping in the San Juan Islands this summer but I long for a big adventure (maybe without kids?) - sometime when money is less tight!

LOVE that train going by... 🚝🚝🚝🚝🚝🚝🚋🚋🚋🚋🚞🚞🚞
Diesel trains weren't used until the 1940s.
While steam engines developed throughout the 19th century, diesel trains were not put into use until the 1940s to the 1960s. These trains were preferred over steam engines because of their ability to perform faster for a much longer time.
The magnetic-levitation train is currently the fastest train in the world.
In April 2015, Japan broke its record for having the fastest train in the world. Japan Railways’ latest mag-lev bullet train traveled at a speed of 603 kph.
Mag-lev trains continue to aim for faster speeds.
It was reported by engineers that they have set a goal to increase the maximum speed a magnetic-levitation train can go. By the year 2020, these trains will be able to run at a speed of over 800 km/h.
The fastest commercial mag-lev train is found in China.
Shanghai, China holds the fastest commercial magnetic-levitation train in the world. This train can travel up to a maximum speed of 288 mph.
The longest direct train route is found in Moscow.
The Trans-Siberian Railway spans into a total length of 5,778 miles. This route can be taken entirely within the bounds of Russia and takes a week at minimum to travel the entire distance.
Very interesting lol. The news break had me trying to find the skip ad's button lol Good work there. Have a great week. God Bless

“There are worse things in life than death. Have you ever spent an evening with an insurance salesman? ”
I bought one of these Saturn Wagons used in 2003. Some months later I was looking at devices on the internet that fit between the car's computer and their sensors to boost engine performance. I asked a Canadian company if they could do one for my little Saturn and they did it for me and for about $300 I had a sleeper of a car that blew people's minds watching me pull out into traffic or blast off from a stop light. No other mods whatsoever on it and I had no pretensions about it at all. All I knew was that when I pushed the pedal to the floor, that device kicked in and it started spinning the wheels. I could manually shift the automatic transmission and get some wheel spin after going into second and a wheel chirp when hitting third. Apparently the performance device lies to the computer about air flow, throttle position, mixture and anything else that mattered so the engine has to respond to make up for it. The car was already super light with plastic for body panels and the engine performance had obviously, in stock form, been dumbed down to meet the expectations of grandmothers by derating it with the stock computer. This was probably the best $300 I had ever spent for entertainment ever. I eventually ended up breaking the auto transmission from getting down on it so hard but I sold it for about half of what I had paid for it after they buyer test drove it even when it leaked fluid and wouldn't go into reverse the guy was still impressed enough to buy it.
If it runs good, and drives good, then it is good. Let the projects begin.
I really wish every car would come with a factory repair manual!
great editing, for some reason it reminds me of kid shows. like Bill Nye the Science Guy

I've used the paper clip method since I learned it in 2002😅 until I finally purchased an obd2 and obd1 scanner 3 years ago, after getting tired of our local auto parts stores rarely having a scanner behind the counter😕 one of my best purchases for working on 96+ vehicles! I still often use the good Ole paper clip in my 91 accord wagon🤣

Train engineers are all 8-year olds that never grew up and their parents never bought enough AA batteries to make the Christmas train toot, so they delight in just blaring the horn any time they can, no matter that they are annoying the hell out of everyone for miles around...
Those tires definitely looked ancient. The type, age, and wear of tires can affect MPG quite a bit. Buying some fresh Michelin Energy Saver tires for example might give you a few percent economy at least. That said, totally agree the cheap tires like to last! I had some General all seasons that wore nice and even and lasted way longer than I expected. $2,000 to revive a good car isn't terrible. :)
Happy to see the old wagon get a little love. If I didn't have enough vehicles at the moment I might be tempted to pick one up. I'd give the cinematographer an 8. Some things, like the braking news were a bit cheesy but on the whole it was still entertaining. The whole thing was also informative, so it was a good job.

OMG the fender not fitting was pure tragedy. The paint looked so good. No lie I definitely would have thrown some epoxy and primer on the old fender and sent it.
Naa it was destiny. The second paint job was a much better match.

Been waiting for this for awhile! I reckon its the best part of my Sunday!
