Jamie spent 2 years max as a minor under her parents with the pregnancy as a victim. She also had freedom all these years to be supportive. Brittney spent nearly 40 years. The two do not even compare.
It's the fact a sixteen year old was able to exercise her freedom of choice, keeping her baby, and sees that as abuse... when her 38-year-old sister can't make the choice to have a baby at all. Nobody sat on Jamie Lynn's stomach and forced an abortion pill down her throat. Nobody chained her down to the bed and gave her a D&C against her will. They could've done that. They're from a backwoods state, it was the early 2000s, they had the money! I'd more expect them to actually force her to HAVE the baby because they are religious... but she got to choose. It's an interesting thing to complain about. Having a choice.

The parents definitely did this to Britney where there’s facts to prove 13 years of Abuse whereas JL says she was allegedly abused while pregnant which was only 9 months. Compare 13 years of abuse to 9 months of it and there’s a huge difference on how it effects someone’s psyche. I’m not dismissing JL’s abuse if it did happen bc it’s important but If she was so concerned for her safety why didn’t she reach out to her sister like she said she needed to. True sisters find ways around things if need be, my older sister would of put my parents in their place if I went to her with that nonsense of abortion or adoption. You can be a victim and victimizer. I have no doubt the parents treated Jamie horribly during her pregnancy. But I also have no doubt Jamie was part of the people keeping Britney down and making her life harder
But maybe she learnt those behaviours because she herself was abused, so she thinks this is how you are meant to treat family? Maybe she was forced to be complicit, maybe father Jamie threatened her or her kids... You never know. Not standing up for her or excusing her behaviours.

Abusive parents often pitt their kids against each other in order to control them. I agree ,some parents do that for their own gain ,by putting their kids against each other . To put it in a simple way, Britney's parents are toxic people.
I think that the Spears sisters and probably also the older brother, are all damaged because their parents are just really toxic. But what happened to Britney is unmatched cruelty-wise, and just because Jamie Lynn didn't have it easy herself as a teenage mother in the public eye, doesn't mean she's innocent when it comes to Britney's case. She definitely isn't and objectively speaking, she had it much better than her. Her kids were never taken away from her and she was more or less free to do whatever she wanted once she was an adult and has been ever since.
Of course we don't know what's gone on behind the scenes for Jamie lynn as an adult. She may have experienced hardship we don't know about at the hands of her dad and others, and I find it pretty sad that her daughter's have been bullied from the free britney movement, jamie lynn and one of her daughter's is blamed for the ending of zooey 101, and Jamie lynn was pushed to get rid of her child when pregnant. People may have had her best interests at heart but that's still horrible. I don’t see how she was “forced”. Obviously her parents wouldn’t have wanted their daughter to have a baby at 16. Should they have been thrilled? Should they have thrown a party? I don’t know one teen mom who’s parents weren’t unhappy about the pregnancy. I would find it more upsetting if the told her she “had” to have and keep this baby. At the end of the day they were giving her options, even if they wanted her to terminate, she didn’t so obviously she was able to maintain control.
Yes, I agree. It’s not exactly surprising that the parents of a 16 year old child would suggest an abortion when they know she isn’t fully capable of handling it on her own (they will oftentimes - not always - rely on others for financial and/or physical support). And her baby daddy ended up having a prison/jail stint so it’s not like she chose the best partner to get through it.
I know my parents wouldn't have let my sister or I bring the baby home. Period. No questions. My parents are strict and they aren't raising another baby 🤷♀️ Can't blame them! She should be lucky she had Britneys money to fall back on, most teen moms I knew/know dropped out.

As someone who was adopted it hurt me to know I wasn't wanted by my Birth Parents, so I couldn't imagine how I'd feel knowing abortion was on the table, but thankfully God picked out the best parents I could've ever asked for and I'm so blessed to have them, but I still have the pain in the back of my mind every single day knowing I wasn't wanted but my other 7 siblings were.
I'm going to play the devils avocado for a minute and say Jamie Lynn was victimized to a certain extent, not by Britney, but from Nickelodeon and her parents. BUT she was definitely not helpful toward Britney's recovery from emancipation. If it was my sister under attack, I'd be at the front lines. But in reality, none of us really know what is going on so all we can do is hope for the best.

I don't doubt that Jamie Lynn has experienced her own trauma when it comes to her parents. In fact, I fully sympathize with it, and if they would stop at nothing to exploit and abuse Britney, who's to say Jamie and Lynne would be gracious enough to spare their other children? Having said this, the timing is all wrong. It's in very poor taste for Jamie Lynn to try to make a buck off of her own life story while her sister has not only been living in hell for so many years, but has called out Jamie Lynn's complicity in it. Shameful.
Right if she really wanted to come out with this she could have even been a character witness for Britney’s team during the conservatorship trial… but to hold onto this information even when it could help your sister gain her freedom (until after daddy lost the conservatorship control) is selfish at best. With how toxic this particular set of grandparents are...I'm half surprised she didn't block access after she had the baby...but then they would probably cut her off financially. She found herself in a bad situation (possibly not of her making?), but if she backed Britney over the dad, Britney might have been willing to help JL out. But if reporters knew about the pregnancy before Brit, the sisters may have already been too far apart emotionally due to their parents. But it still doesn't excuse JL not doing anything (known publicly) to loosen the stranglehold on her sister. JL could've gone to court as an interested party or something & said how terrible the dad is & a neutral third party would be a better choice for running the c-ship. And with how well known the family is, I'm sure JLs kid has heard rumors of grandpa hurting her cousins & getting a restraining order against him. I just hope JLs parents haven't treated her kids badly & JL does a better job being a parent than her parents did.

Jaime Lynn painting herself as the victim while her own sister is still struggling to get out of the conservatorship (that Jamie herself participated in) tells you everything you need to know about her, more worried about getting public sympathy than helping her sister and at the cost of the mental health of her own daughter. Meanwhile, Britney's aunt came out with a story about her own abuse at the hands of Britney's granfather, but she did it to help her niece, but explaining how the abusive behaviour of Spears men was similar and how Britney's dad came from an abusive household and he clearly imitated that behaviour to some extent later. Jamie Lynn could have talked against her parents "controlling" her before to help her sister, but linking both of their situations, but the truth is JL is so unreliable, that whatever "control" she felt her parents had over her, was clearly not that much, considering she had her daughter anyway. Who knows who is telling the truth? Lynne Spears saying she's against abortion or JL saying her grandparents wanted her to abort (which is very reasonable, especially for 16 year old, because nobody is ready to be a mother at thar age. I'm pro-choice, by the way, all the way. So I'm happy JL made her own decision, in the end, if the story is true). She still got to chose if we can believe JL's own words. Sorry but no, Jamie, maybe you were the victim of your parents once, but you're an adult now and a free one, who was complicit with what was done to Britney. I think this situation reflects what happens in a lot of abusive families. Lots of the abusers have been victimized themselves. I’m sure Jamie experience abuse by her parents, abusive parents rarely only abuse one child. This experience may have trauma bonded Jamie to her parents. Not defending her actions. But this is a great example of how abuse works in toxic families…
I agree!! I have a lot of similarities with what JL said about her parents and pregnancy. I was told to abort and when I wouldn't they pushed adoption agencies @ me. Then they just hid me from public. I just don't understand why JL is bringing it up now. Timing is bad, imo. But I do believe it did happen to JL. If I were JL I would just be quiet for now. Yup ! This happened in my family and it’s very hard to come to terms with, especially when you remember what the abuser has done to you but it’s the reality. Someone really hurt or broke that person in order for them to become the way they are. However, that shouldn’t excuse their resistance to fix themselves and just spread that hurt onto others.

I think that the Spears sisters and probably also the older brother, are all damaged because their parents are just really toxic. But what happened to Britney is unmatched cruelty-wise, and just because Jamie Lynn didn't have it easy herself as a teenage mother in the public eye, doesn't mean she's innocent when it comes to Britney's case. She definitely isn't and objectively speaking, she had it much better than her. Her kids were never taken away from her and she was more or less free to do whatever she wanted once she was an adult and has been ever since.
Of course we don't know what's gone on behind the scenes for Jamie lynn as an adult. She may have experienced hardship we don't know about at the hands of her dad and others, and I find it pretty sad that her daughter's have been bullied from the free britney movement, jamie lynn and one of her daughter's is blamed for the ending of zooey 101, and Jamie lynn was pushed to get rid of her child when pregnant. People may have had her best interests at heart but that's still horrible. It’s not exactly surprising that the parents of a 16 year old child would suggest an abortion when they know she isn’t fully capable of handling it on her own (they will oftentimes - not always - rely on others for financial and/or physical support). And her baby daddy ended up having a prison/jail stint so it’s not like she chose the best partner to get through it.
But after she said no, they should have dropped it. Pro-choice means being able to choose to keep it too.

I don't doubt that Jamie Lynn has experienced her own trauma when it comes to her parents. In fact, I fully sympathize with it, and if they would stop at nothing to exploit and abuse Britney, who's to say Jamie and Lynne would be gracious enough to spare their other children? Having said this, the timing is all wrong. It's in very poor taste for Jamie Lynn to try to make a buck off of her own life story while her sister has not only been living in hell for so many years, but has called out Jamie Lynn's complicity in it. Yes, because from all available evidence, Jamie (and Lynn) are nothing but loving parents/grandparents that should have as much access as possible to every young female relative they can. There's no reason to avoid keeping them in a position of trust and influence over Maddie. How dare JL ruin this wholesome, totally healthy, relationship between them.

With how toxic this particular set of grandparents are...I'm half surprised she didn't block access after she had the baby...but then they would probably cut her off financially.
She found herself in a bad situation (possibly not of her making?), but if she backed Britney over the dad, Britney might have been willing to help JL out. But if reporters knew about the pregnancy before Brit, the sisters may have already been too far apart emotionally due to their parents.
But it still doesn't excuse JL not doing anything (known publicly) to loosen the stranglehold on her sister. JL could've gone to court as an interested party or something & said how terrible the dad is & a neutral third party would be a better choice for running the c-ship.
And with how well known the family is, I'm sure JLs kid has heard rumors of grandpa hurting her cousins & getting a restraining order against him. I just hope JLs parents haven't treated her kids badly & JL does a better job being a parent than her parents did.
If they were "controling" her, how then could she make her own decision to give birth and raise her child. If it were Brittney she would have been forced to terminate the pregnancy. Truth be told Brittney was actually so "controlled" she was not allowed to raise her sons.

Jaime Lynn painting herself as the victim while her own sister is still struggling to get out of the conservatorship (that Jamie herself participated in) tells you everything you need to know about her, more worried about getting public sympathy than helping her sister and at the cost of the mental health of her own daughter.
Meanwhile, Britney's aunt came out with a story about her own abuse at the hands of Britney's granfather, but she did it to help her niece, but explaining how the abusive behaviour of Spears men was similar and how Britney's dad came from an abusive household and he clearly imitated that behaviour to some extent later. Jamie Lynn could have talked against her parents "controlling" her before to help her sister, but linking both of their situations, but the truth is JL is so unreliable, that whatever "control" she felt her parents had over her, was clearly not that much, considering she had her daughter anyway. Who knows who is telling the truth? Lynne Spears saying she's against abortion or JL saying her grandparents wanted her to abort (which is very reasonable, especially for 16 year old, because nobody is ready to be a mother at thar age. I'm pro-choice, by the way, all the way. So I'm happy JL made her own decision, in the end, if the story is true). She still got to chose if we can believe JL's own words. Sorry but no, Jamie, maybe you were the victim of your parents once, but you're an adult now and a free one, who was complicit with what was done to Britney. The real victims here, are your own daughter and Britney.

I think this situation reflects what happens in a lot of abusive families. Lots of the abusers have been victimized themselves. I’m sure Jamie experience abuse by her parents, abusive parents rarely only abuse one child. This experience may have trauma bonded Jamie to her parents. Not defending her actions. But this is a great example of how abuse works in toxic families…
I agree!! I have a lot of similarities with what JL said about her parents and pregnancy. I was told to abort and when I wouldn't they pushed adoption agencies @ me. Then they just hid me from public. I just don't understand why JL is bringing it up now. Timing is bad, imo. But I do believe it did happen to JL. If I were JL I would just be quiet for now. This is Britney's time now.

Yup ! This happened in my family and it’s very hard to come to terms with, especially when you remember what the abuser has done to you but it’s the reality. Someone really hurt or broke that person in order for them to become the way they are. However, that shouldn’t excuse their resistance to fix themselves and just spread that hurt onto others.

Everything you’ve said made old rumors of who the real identity of JLS’s baby daddy allegedly was resurface in my mind. LS sounds like someone who could loathe the product of someone she didn’t like, or thought took advantage of her daughter (and ended her career because of the controversy of being a teen mom, not a good example of a Christian life).
