The only reason the spells' damage were so underwhelming was because the enemy they used them against (Final Guard) has maximum defense and resists everything.
+prideofasia99. I guess Juste can be speculated as being more powerful, but your point still stands. Christopher defeated Dracula twice, a feat which was only ever repeated by Simon. Juste technically never even fought the actual Dracula, just a wraith.
Jose Luis Rivera I do think that Sprite from Symphony of the Knight was used for the fake Trevor doppelgänger while Trevor was already died centuries ago since Trevor is one of Richter's ancestors.
@@DigiPen92 Actually, there's a random chance Trevor and/or Simon will appear as 8-Bit sprites. Some of them are pretty neat. I only wish we could see them against other enemies because it would have been neat to see how much damage the moves really did. Though a couple did do more than 1 damage to these so I guess that goes to show the kind of power some of these have.
***** Yeah final guards are pretty much designed like that. It's been a while since I played it but I don't think they were really designed to be taken out easily. At best you might get a little bit higher than 1 damage towards the end of the game.

@@MrLCGO honestly i think it looks more like simons design from castlevania chronicles in original mode only because simons design in SCV4 is more armored copared to this and chronicles.
That enemy I remember. He has perfect defense where the most damage you will see is 1. Doesnt have a lot of hp either. Might be 100 or less. Just assanine defense.
Dealing 9 damage to a Final Guard may not SEEM impressive, but Final Guards are some of the toughest enemies around defensively. Being able to do more then one damage to those guys per hit is the mark of a real winner.
+Princess Lucina. I know this comment is old, but if you look closely, the 8-bit sprite is actually Trevor ( you can tell by the headband and slight differences in colors from Simon's 8-bit sprite). You can tell the updated sprite at the end is Simon because his armor reflects his design more closely to his design on the Castlevania 1 cover and modern design. I guess they didn't make both sprites 8-bit so that they're more easily discernable.

i like the sprite work for Leon. Also i wish there were Castlevania games with the updated designs of Trevor and especially Simon.
updated like, anime and smash, or the ugly death note style?
Trevor is just a recolor of his doppelganger.

there was already a better sprite used in SotN, not sure why they decide to go with the old 8bit
