Does anyone know how many knives he throws durring "1000 blades"? I tried counting them, I came to about 79 or 80. Plot twist: It's actually 666 knives!
This was my first Castlevania! I still love the soundtrack and I revisit it from time to time. I was always fascinated by all the spells and it's cool to get to see most of them for the first time here. Thanks for compiling them!
When I first played this, Bible + Ice was my go to spell. Freaking expensive, but also freaking powerful. One thing I found interesting that I never knew though, was that there are some equipment which enhances the subweapons, giving it additional properties.
The holy book it self without any combinations is already broken. It only causes 2 hearts and does multiple damage to all enemies near his surroundings.
the fire knife spell hides a secret. if you use the arrows in a circular fashion ( up, diagonal, right, diagonal, down, diagonal, left, diagonal) while the daggers are appearing matching the pattern you will summon up to 8 fireballs at once that will deal a heck ton of impacts. also, it's 8 knifes not 9 :P
Ice+Dagger is my favorite. It's simple, doesn't need to be aimed and, does a decent amount of danage. It's a fire-and-forget weapon that I can stack damage on top. There's also Sacred Fist+Fire because you can just bully enemies with it and Wind+Dagger, which does a stupid amount of damage and gives you a tonne of invincibility frames.
My favorite is the wind cross, it is the best offensive shield, besides it lasts forever until it is used up, it gives a lot of advantage for the mana recharge, it also has a decent attack range.
I actually think Juste is the strongest Belmont. I know he never faced the actual Dracula but that is the only difference though and if he does face dracula, i don't think it makes much of a different. With those magic spells, Juste can destroy him in no time. The only belmont who: Is the main character of a metroidvania castlevania game Has different magic spells Can summon or transform into monsters/demons Can forward dash Is a perfect balance of a Belnadez and a Belmont Sadly put in an underrated castlevania game

Juste's prowess in magic is what gave birth the Item Crashes that you see in HoD and later on with Richter, an ability that Simon was never able to do. Julius is a curious exception. We do not really know the extent of his powers. As far as we know, the Belmonts stopped training their descendants in the art of vampire hunting after Richter gave up the whip. How Julius managed to get the whip back and train up for his battle his Dracula is an as of yet untold tale. He could have learned of his ancestor's abilities and experience during his adventure, or been trained by the Morris family, but until Konami greenlights a game that would delve into that history, we cannot know for certain if Julius is an equal to Richter.
@@wackyswacky1374 Tbf Leon obliterated thru most of a vampire's castle without the Vampire Killer (tho he does get it near the end of the story), and he defeated The Forgotten One, a being that was so powerful it almost destroys the world and had to be sealed away because it couldn't be killed. -Also Leon's one of the hottest Belmonts.- And Julius was shown in Aria to have powers that exceed Richter's (even when holding back), not to mention his ability to straight up phase through attacks. Christopher and Simon are probably the strongest, both destroyed Dracula two times and without the usage of any magic besides the Vampire Killer.
So many spells to choose. But to be honest, I don't use different spells so much now these days. It's mostly the same, which is the Sacred Fist + Wind Book. yup its like the Crissaegrim from sotn in that both turn you into a walking lawnmower and like the Crissaegrim it makes the game way to easy except for a few bosses.
Iirc, got a monster that could remove your sub. You can try google it. Back then I used walkthroughs and guides from GameFAQS, maybe can try look for it there.
I use wind+cross more among the 2. Mostly because the area of it's protection is bigger. But if there's too much projectile, you need to refresh frequently

So Maria wasn't the only one who can summon Spirit Animals. Now it make sense why she has close ties to the Belmont.

Holy Book + Earth ring = Alucard's version of the Holy book.
You can actually press the directional pad during the Fire Dagger animation to allow more fireballs to be summoned.

if you press, down left, or down right at the moment when you activate the ability, you can change the position of the orbs too
Press up down forward and attack during cross plus wind book summon to change direction of the crosses to horizontal
