Just means its time to play again. I just started up a new character earlier this year to replay the Mages/Fighters Guild questlines, cause I usually end up doing DB or Thieves Guild. Still my favorite game of all time.
It has been many years since I was in cyrodiil. I got to know the people, saved the homeless from thieves, chased goblins from caves, helped chemists to get their ingredients. I met knights and mages, vampires and werewolves, and became the grandmaster of the arena. Some people say video games are a waste of time. But aren't the memories of those adventures a priceless treasure?
@@bahkbar5615 The worst thing is when you do the mission for the first time, when you meet all the other elves who tell you what happened to him. It just seemed cruel to kill him.

Oblivion is the best game I've ever played, this was my childhood. So nostalgic! I cries and gets a flashback to my childhood at 45:25 I will never forget this masterpiece of a game!
Remembers me of times without worries, stress or problems in my everyday life. Just coming home from school and spending my time in videogames and today i can say it was totally worth it. But...but... Don't you want to spend your time saving the world from Donald Trump??? Come on man, America was never great, let's move on to a better world where no one suffers! Be happy! Or else! :)
This music is an odd mix of emotions: bittersweet, yet sad and melancholic. I just can't work out how it makes me feel. The tunes seem to go through all my emotions with nostalgia, yet I don't know what it is I am remembering. It makes sense, as Jeremy Soule said he heard this music during a coma, after suffering a life-threatening car accident. This music honestly captures the beauty of life.
It just touches you. I think it came when most of us were at the brink of becoming adults, and it was a last ditch effort to just escape. I don't think I can explain it any other way. . .
It is very emotional. Thank for putting some of the emotion into a tangible thought. The thing is that this music makes us feel things that a greater than words.
I played this game as a child and then did not pay attention to the accompanying music. now I listen to it and cry, what good times it was. I felt every music.
@Nimzo He's been accused multiple times of sexual assault and rape by women he's worked with. I'm not sure if anything ever went to courts or not, but either way, he basically disappeared after the accusations instead of trying to fight them. Even if he didn't do those things, his likelihood of working on anything is shot.
Man, this music gives me such a feeling of nostalgia it's hard to describe. Even compared to other games around this period in my life Oblivion music just stands out.
The most beautiful music ever created by human beings, and I mean that with no exaggeration. I have never heard anything so literally "heavenly" and peaceful in my life as Oblivion's soundtrack. I would legitimately just spend time wandering the wilds to enjoy the soundtrack and the environments, especially around the West Weald near Skingrad.
That first one always gets to me, especially after I've just completed the main quest. Makes you feel so somber, knowing one of your only friends Martin is gone. When I hear that tune at night I can't help but look up at the stars and admire them quietly for a moment, in solemn remembrance.
This music takes you into a different, timeless reality. To a fantasy world where magic is real and burdens of life are forgotten momentarily. Great memories
I bought this game when it first came out on the Xbox360 even though I was never a fan of RPG games. Boy, did this game change my mind. The beautiful world and this astoundingly beautiful soundtrack is still held dear in my heart.
damn i love how all the comments are positive nostalgic memories that this game ties them too. it’s really something magical, what this game achieved to so many players
Quite right, could not possibly recommend this channel more warmly, especially as people always ask me why I listen to WOW music so much without having played the game itself. The channel and the content is just that well-made.
A time so much simpler. A time before Fallout 76 and the over simplification of RPG's. Oblivion was THE RPG to reign supreme. I miss this game so damn much. I still play, but nothing will ever quite feel the same as how I felt the first time I escaped those creepy dank sewers.. Or the first time I got burned alive and stabbed to death because I picked up a slice of fruit...
For real. Exploring into the heartlands and walking up the Jerall Mountains for the first time was one of the best moments of my life. It was the first rpg I ever played. I was speechless for the amount of autonomy you had in game.
Perfect combination of simplifying 90's RPGs with the dumbing down of 2010s RPGs. And honestly, the horrible voice acting and braindead AI just made this game great.
@@quillanjacobson8952 Well I mean Oblivion is a 2006 game but yeah, its a wierd mix of old and new, clunky and intuitive, thats its charms, the middlechild of Elder Scrolls.
Ah, the nostalgic sewer entrance. Thank you Everness for filling this niche with your beautiful videos. I could listen to this or your hundreds of other top quality music videos endlessly.
The Oblivion OST is probably my favorite album of music ever composed. It's absolutely blissful. There is also much nostalgia and enchantment woven into the soundtrack. Every piece has its own unique signature or flavor to it. I like to use this soundtrack to sleep or relax and I consider it Jeremy Soule's magnum opus.
Masterpiece. The Elder Scrolls games hold such a special place in my heart for many reasons. I know they get memed and ragged on A LOT, but they're really so great.
This game doesn't measure up visually to modern games, but something about it is still so incredibly beautiful. The atmosphere hasn't been equaled since.
The level of nostalgia and comfort this music alone brings and the memories that come flooding in.. One of the greatest games I have ever played. I've basically lived in that world
I especially love the part at 19:10. It always reminds me of the quest, when the painter was trapped in his own picture. DOn't know why...Maybe because it is as mystherious and beautiful at the same time.
I love that quest. I used to make a separate save before entering the painting, so i could replay it anytime i want. It's a beautiful place, truly memorable. I never used the Painted Troll Fat for anything, i kept it in a small chest with other unique items for collection. My own little Museum of Oddities :D
Morrowind has that alien setting and magic. It makes you feel that you're on a completely different planet, on a different setting, on a different supercluster of galaxies. Just looking at the night sky gives the idea. So many stars... Oblivion has that strange beauty in it can't point it out. It's like fantasy world but it still feels like you're on Earth (not Nirn). But everything has such a charm in it. It makes you feel ambitious when you think about it. The artstyle, the book handwriting style, the armors the dialogues the NPCs. Everything just makes it so visually (and audibly) charming. Skyrim, despite being the newest edition among the 3, kinda feels like it's old. There's so much visible tension that you can feel. The grey filter, wooden houses, every city preparing for war. It does become pretty and it also has Secunda (soundtrack), but that tension always comes back. Not saying the previous games were jolly rides, but you can feel Skyrim is giving that old and serious vibe. All the bearded men and wrinkled woman around. Even the bodies sported body hairs and dirt on them. It again gives that old vibe. But all the games are beautiful and horrifying in their own way i guess. I find Morrowind the most entertaining tho. It's also my first TES game so probably that's why.
I played the hell out of this game. I mean I did absolutely everything you could do multiple times. The spell creator was always fun to mess with. This music is like a portal back to my childhood
Everytime I hear this song I get the chills, remembering myself playing for hours, exploring Cyrodiil. Looking at the sunrise from the mountains. Recognizing the infamous tower in the middle of the Imperial city. Memories. There will be no better game than this
I've been really loving this channel too. Big WoW player here, and have fond memories of Oblivion and Skyrim. Not only is the music itself amazing and beautiful and serene, but I love the footage put together for each video - it really brings it to life. And I love the snippets from the in-game books, it all comes together to immerse me and make me feel like I'm in Cyrodiil. Top notch, I love the channel!
I used to listen to this soundtrack while leveling in WoW, WoW is also very beautiful in the landscape - I don't play anymore, but Oblivion and WoW are probably my fondest gaming memories
@@twentytwo138 Right now, there are two versions of WoW running - the current expansion Shadowlands, and then there's a Classic version of The Burning Crusade. Sadly, my comment has aged a bit, as I no longer play WoW. I'm playing Final Fantasy 14, and really, really loving it. It would be my personal MMO recommendation (it has a fantastic free trial available that lets you play the base game and the first expansion entirely free, with no time restrictions). I've heard a lot of people trying out Guild Wars 2, as well, but I can't speak to that one, having never played it. 😅
I played this when i was 17 years old. My mum watch me riding through the land on a horse trying to get to Kvatch....and she was like "you used to play games be like Super Mario, walking left and right, and jumping.....now you boys are playing games where you travel through a real 3D open world????"
To me, it's the opposite, I started to play it 2 years ago and my mom laughed at the graphics, but honestly, it's really a part of what makes it so good!

Love this music. I remember when the game came out and all my roommates played it as well as my wife. I would walk through the house and it was on three different televisions. It was so relaxing and I could find my best writing times during those moments. Thus now I still seek this out to write.
One of the best games ever. It was better than Skyrim for me. I got this and my OG white 360 on my 13th birthday in 2006. 06 - 08 were a wild few years of gaming (Oblivion, Halo 3, Fallout 3, Modern Warfare, World at War (Zombies), GTA 4, Bioshock, DeadSpace, Farcry 3, Left 4 Dead) all just in those couple years. The transition from PS2 and original Xbox to the PS3 and 360 with massive online gaming lobbies was INSANE to witness. I was in middle school, I remember sitting at the lunch table with friends planning our Halo 3 Lobbies. Those were the days, now I have a mortgage...

Omg right? About the only time Skyrim makes me feel the magic Oblivion did is when I recognise something FROM Oblivion - be it the music, or Lucien Lachance. Skyrim's an alright game. But Oblivion's more than a game. Oblivion is HOME.

Listening to these Oblivion videos brings me a lot of comfort. I'm in a very stressful place in my life (some good stress, some bad stress) and listening to these brings me back to my teenage years when things were simpler. I think of the friends I had at the time and how much things have changed. The score isn't down-beat per se, but there is a hint of longing or melancholy in every track, which somehow hits exactly how I'm feeling. Thanks for making these videos.

I don't think I can explain it any other way. . .

I've never played Oblivion but I sleep every night with this music on. I miss the 10 hour rainy day and night version.
