    Very surprised: this unit ran a 7.2 full load amp fridge and saved the day on a weekend retreat. It worked only if I had just ac turned on before plugging in the fridge. If I had the dc and ac turned on, then I got a “over wattage alert”. There are not many power stations that can run a full size fridge but are also small enough to just toss into the back of a car for “just in case” when there is barely any space left after two kids and the dog. We also used it to run the WiFi and tv so we could tune in to church.

    I actually like/prefer the idea of external brick and one of many reasons I chose Pecron!! This will more than likely be a failure point in the future. If internal you are dead in the water. If external, I can simply purchase another brick and be up and running!! Also, I can use this AC brick on my E2000LFP along with its included 600watt AC charger for faster charging. Love your reviews, don't need noise test!!

    When my Pecron E600 unit (refurbished unit from eBay) went missing at a FedEX distribution center, they emailed me they were tracking the unit and noticed it had not been delivered on time. They immediately offered a Brand New Unit as replacement and delivered the new unit 4 days later. Its rare for any company that will inform you why they missed the delivery date but to offer a new replacement unit is impressive. Can anyone think of any company that tracks and contacts your before you receive your purchased goods?

    I have been viewing numerous online reviews. Very impressed by an AC stress test. The fully charged unit ran at 1380+ watts for 20+ minutes before it shutdown due to batteries over heating. Once they cooled down the unit started charging by the AC power supply with no intervention required. It was also noted the sine wave remained constant. I also have to say the three items mentioned for point deductions are none issues for me. Jason, I ordered this unit prior to seeing this review. Your review only confirmed my choice. Certainly would like to see this included in a EcoFlow River 2 Pro comparison.

    I received this this e600lfp this past weekend. I find your efficiency test very accurate. It's crazy how much more efficient these are compared to the ecoflows I own. I'm especially speaking when there's no load on it and you leave it on.
    A common habit I have is charging my phone at bed time while playing youtube on it. I bring that habit with me when camping . My ecoflows drain like heck when it's on but with no load.
    I'm am very impressed with my first pecron and might buy another in this model. My real target is the e2000lfp in all black which is out of stock.

    I appreciate the rf noise tests. I actually looking into this as portable/backup power for my ham radio, that also can have other applications for a power outage or when camping. One really nice feature about this system is that it has over 150 watts in dc, so I could run my radio at significantly higher power without needing to use ac and a power supply.

    I bought the e600LFP after watching this and other reviews. I bought it to run my 22 cubic foot refrigerator for 6-8 hours. In a test my refrigerator ran for 7:49, which included a significant amount of opening the door during the last hour. I was able to get greater than 85% capacity when powering a space heater (based on the power readout and discharge time). I tried it with my ham radio and did not notice increased noise on either the 80m or 40m band when powering my radio from the DC output, or the AC output connected to a power supply. However, I live in a high noise environment and so someone with a better radio and quieter location might get different results. When powering from the DC output, I was able to run at 30 watts output in CW mode with the key down, with a power draw of 131 watts from the e600LFP. When powering from the DC output, I could operate in SSB (voice) with my radio set to full power, but my power output was lower than when running off of mains power. I was able to check into a 40m net and talk with people around the country, but my signal report was not great (5-5). As expected, this power station would not be my go-to for backup power for a ham radio, but it would work.

    Jason, thanks for your insights on various aspects of alternative energy. I had decided to purchase this unit prior to seeing this review. You confirmed my pick for a small battery supply. My criteria is a system for emergency power without investing a ton of money. I have since ordered a SetPower PT55 as well as an EcoFlow River 2. My thinking is charging the SetPower via 12v I can alternate battery supplies while charging the other battery unit. On my home I have 6.03kWh SunPower solar on my home since 2018. I am currently not interested in a whole home system. Living in the PNW I know at times solar is not the most reliable of power. The two battery supplies I have purchased have very quick AC charging and that is a consideration. Eventually I may purchase a 100w Xtar panel but for now have purchased a Champion 2500/1820w dual source portable (40lbs) generator/inverter. It can run 30+ hours on a 20lb propane tank. That is a lot of battery system charges. Total investment $1250.

    I just discovered your channel when searching for some reviews on Pecron after someone in a car/truck/van dwelling/living FB group I'm in posted a screenshot of their products looking for personal reviews and I was astounded at their prices... and then your spreadsheet, OMFG!! This is exactly what I've needed and was about to embark on the absolutely overwhelming task of making one myself to better compare as many options as possible - it's important to know you're getting a good deal when your budget is that of "homeless/no income/limited". Words cannot express my gratitude for your time & labor in putting that together, even if the prices become outdated with the ever-changing market (in fact it's nice to know what prior prices were to see if they've gone up or down and I can know to wait for a sale or search elsewhere!). The one thing I was looking for on it wasn't actually the capacity but the inverter sizes lol, but I found that info on the second page so that works fine enough :P Just wanted to send a massive thank you and let ya know that I'll use your discount referral code if/when I buy as well as sharing your spreadsheet and channel with the multiple travel/nomad FB groups I'm in, so I hope some future purchases help ya out! :) The irony is that I already HAVE a 100ah LiFePo4 with all the bells & whistles including bluetooth/app, a 3000watt inverter, MPPT controller, and 100w of solar panels, but am finding that hooking it all up in a way I can still use it stealthily in my little 2nd Gen Prius may not be workable since I'm full-time and need all the room and ease I can get.... but with this unit it looks like the market may finally be catching up to what someone on a budget can DIY!

    If you don't need UPS you can't ask for more really, by far the best spec for the capacity and even outdoes many smaller and larger stations in various ways. I love the solar input. My only gripe is with the warranty. From reading the comments here I've learned that you get 24mo if you register, but the 12mo standard warranty still says that they're not standing firmly behind their product - a biggie for me...

    Great review Jason! I was hoping you'd review the E600LFP. I purchased the E2000LFP based on your review. I'd like to pick up the E600LFP for camping, but I already have other power stations that size (but less capability). I will say I've found use cases for having a larger inverter than the capacity for things such as small microwave or other appliances that just need short usage and don't actually drain the capacity much.
    Regarding customer service, I've contacted them several times asking questions. Once I tripped my E2000LFP and was concerned it was damaged. They've gotten back to me within 1 day for every time I've contacted them. This included weekends, which was surprising.
    For the external charging brick, I actually don't mind because the solar is so high. For my SoGens/power stations, I try to recharge them solely off solar. So it's nice to save a bit of size/weight not having the power supply built-in. Another thing I like about the external brick is I can repurpose it to use for other things, suck as charging my other power stations. Just need to make an adapter for the connector.
    Do you plan to test the Expansion Batteries for the E2000LFP? They seem to be "dumb" in their connection to the main unit, which isn't necessarily bad. Other "smart" ones try to manage the expansion batteries and end up discharging unevenly to the point where there's still plenty of charge in the EB, but the main unit runs out and you're left with a useless set. The dumbness of the Pecron configuration allows the main unit to still work as long as any EB still has charge. And from other folks testing, it seems the main unit and EBs discharge pretty evenly. I'm looking to pick up an EB (ideally 2, but my wife will kill me) later on.

One quirk about this machine is that it takes a long time to LCD to show anything. Like when you plug in the charging brick, it takes a while before reaching the max of 275w. When I plug in my solar, same thing. Not instantaneous like the EB3A.

    I would absolutely buy this before getting an EF River Pro, due to the lower cost AND the LFP batteries versus NMC. It scores less on your grading system, despite probably being a better overall value. The only real knock on this power station is the storage capacity is small, compared to the inverter output capacity, but that could be addressed with an external battery wired to a boost converter, as you demonstrated in another video.

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  Год назад +2

      Thanks for sharing your insight, Jason. The River Pro is a bit outdated now since most power stations are using LFP. Like Bluetti (with the EB3A) and EcoFlow (With the Delta 2), Pecron now has established the standard in 600 watt-hr range of portable power stations, and they have no real competition. And it fits nicely right in between the EB3A (600 watt inverter) and the Delta 2 (1800 watt inverter). A sub $400 power station that takes 400 watts of solar and can make a pot of coffee! Almost perfect😀. A B230 battery with the MC-4 output cable (I have both) allows for much longer run times with medium size loads minus the higher parasitic losses of the AC200MAX. I ordered one of these for my sister, since her first question is "can it make a pot of coffee" when the power goes out. Thanks for a very informative review

    I have the E2000LFP and have used it to power my 20 cu. ft. Whirlpool garage refrigerator for several months with no problems. The E2000LFP charges very fast with my 4 180 watt BougeRV solar panels. Several other online reviewers had no problem running their refrigerators with the Pecron E600LFP. I have no issues with the power brick because I only charge my E2000LFP from my solar panels. 1200 watts of output power runs both my Whirpool refrigerators with no problem. One is 20 cu. ft. with no ice maker. The other is 25 cu. ft. with an ice maker. One runs on about 80 watts and the other on about 95 watts. There is a real big difference between different brands and older versus newer refrigerators when you are looking at their power consumption. From my research LG probably makes the most efficient models; but other manufacturers are very close if you are looking at their newest models. My Pecron E2000lFP amazes me that it will start charging nicely when just a little light hits my solar panels. I have an E600LFP on order because Pecron has performed very nicely and meets my needs.

    The external charging brick is a PLUS ! Reduced weight and reduced heat inside the power station. The only negative I can think of is you will build LESS upper body strength from carrying around a lighter power station . . . . . boo - hoo . AND an 'app' won't put the plug into the power station . . . . you have to do that 'in person' . . . . . = don't need no extra 'complexity' of no stinkin' app ! ! !
    The Pecron E-2000 offers an additional year on the warranty with 'registration' . . . . this one may as well?

    Jason, Thank you for the review. As always, your spreadsheet is KING. This PecronE600LFP has a great price point and I feel folks who shop price point at this level of Solar Generator probably don't have $1,000 worth of solar panels but rather all they will have is the external charging brick that comes with this model. I still feel the EcoFlow Delta 2 is better, but I certainly understand this purchase. Folks would be wise to watch about five of your videos to learn your format and truly learn solar generator parts and pieces. But if they just want to jump and go then this Pecron E600LFP is a good pool to jump into just not the best pool. Take care.

    I have to share, I was trying to find a "quiet" way to charge this up slowly and was trying a bunch of different 12v supply's. A 12v supply has to be pretty beefy to not get really hot, at least 120w or 10 amp supply. I thought what the heck and plugged in my e-bike charger since it was 48v @ 3a with the same 5.5 x 2.1 connector with the correct polarity and guess what, it works fine. It still maxes out at about 80w, but quiet, cool and WAY smaller brick. I so wish they had labeled that port correctly for whatever it can accept, I am guess other than wattage limiting it is using the same MPPT as the port below it at 95v max, but that is just a guess.

      Usually a company will require the buyer to ship a product back on their own dime if there isn't a issue with the product, but they just want to return it for one reason or another. Probably due to the size and weight of the device.

    Hello Jason, it's me again. I've been diligently following your testing procedures outlined in your instructional videos, which have been immensely helpful for a beginner like me. Based on your review, I purchased the same unit you recommended. While attempting the testing, I encountered a setback - I damaged my 12V cigar plug and am currently waiting for a replacement. In the meantime, I improvised using a 5525 to Anderson plug that I had on hand for a capacity test last night. I'm uncertain if this substitution had any impact on my results, but I recorded a capacity of only 536Wh at 5 amps.
    I recall from your video that you achieved 566 or 566.25Wh, indicating a 91% capacity rating compared to the advertised capacity. However, when I applied this formula Percentage = (614/566) x 100, I obtained 92.18%. Could you confirm if this is the correct formula to use, or if there's another method I should consider? I plan to conduct the test again, ensuring the battery is fully charged. Any insights or information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

      The testing results will vary depending on the amperage discharge rate. I usually discharge around 9 - 10 amps for my discharge tests.
      This is the formula I use for my videos:

    Great review. No phone support scares me, as does only standing in warranty for 12 months. Red flags. I bought an E2000 & was excited about expansion batteries as well as picking up this little 600. Have read several bad service reviews however, both for equipment failure and non-response, or slow response, from company. Human contact is critical when it comes to tech we may be trusting our lives to. Had I looked further into company, I would have gone with Ecoflow. I like what I see, but may cool it a bit until service improves or competitors join expansion options. Not dropping 5 grand and not have someone to talk to. Work too hard for my money. I hope it goes ok. Will see as time goes on. Dang it! I wanted to buy every product they had, til reviewers pointed out lack of customer support.

    As to Pecron support - I had an issue with the E2000 LFP where it stopped taking a charge from any source. Given the time zone issues, Pecron was responsive and helpful through their chat channel. Response was not immediate, but reasonably quick. I provided pictures to aid in communication. After some testing, per their suggestions, they ultimately sent me a new unit, after I returned the faulty one. Also, I had an issue syncing the EB3000 expansion battery. It was due to faulty cable initially sent. They gave me instructions to fix it (breaking off a couple of pins), but I asked for their upgraded one, which Pecron promptly sent. Happy with their support and the unti is now working as expected. I will likely purchase the additional EB3000 expansion battery in the near future. Cheers!

    What’s the impact of all these solar generators that don’t appear to have ground conductors in there AC receptacles?
    I never hear anyone mention it.
    I also have issues trying to find AC input requirements as it relates to THD. Can you charge it with a non inverter generator safely?
    I was curious your thoughts on the subjects..
    I’m looking for a solution for my campers fridge that’s just 120v and propane so I can safely power it while driving. I am not a fan of running propane while driving.
    I could see this being an option and then utilizing you “charging hack” with a battery or pair of batteries in series or some dc upconverters.

    Jason you state the smaller charging port is good for up to 25 volts but its labeled as18 volts and the manual states 18 volts as well. wont a 100 watt panels open circuit voltage be too high since their usually around 20 or 21volts?

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  Год назад +1

      I'd say the manual is pretty vague about the true voltage allowances, unfortunately. I have used 5 or 6 different 100 panels that had higher voltage than the 18v 'limit' and they works just fine to charge it up. It shouldn't be an issue with most 100w panels.

    I just got a replacement unit of the E690LFP na doing some testing and trials, I realized that when you turn on the "DC out" the unit stops charging. Don't know if you did this test.
    However, the unit will still charge and discharge during the time the "AC out" is switched on.
    Apparently there is no pass thru charging for the DC out function. Not good.
    I hooked up an additional watt meter to the input and observed that the unit stops charging during the DC on usage.

    I purchased 2 of these 8 months ago and have only used them a couple of times. I checked on them recently only to find one at 1% state of charge, the other was still near 100%. Not sure why one was down to 1% as I'm pretty sure I didn't leave it that way. Anyway when I hooked it up to charge it will not accept a charge from the DC IN or from the solar IN using the provided AC adapter. When I contacted Pecron they said it was under warranty and would replace it after I pay to ship it back to their warehouse in Quebec (I live in Alberta). They offered to provide a UPS label that would cost me $80 CAD. Instead I can ship it Canada Post for around $50. I'm probably going to go ahead with the repair/replacement, although I'm not particularly happy I have to pay to return it. I also question the quality of the components given that this has only been charged/discharged a couple of times and no longer works. Does anyone have an idea why it is no longer accepting a charge? Is it because the state of charge is down to 1%?

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  7 месяцев назад

      My guess is one of the outputs was left on by accident until it died. After it died it wasn't charged back up so the minor power drain over time caused the battery to discharge to a point too low for the charger to see the battery anymore. I recommend checking on these every couple months and making sure they are charged up. When storing them away. Make sure all outputs are turned off.

    • @user-it5cc9jh1u
      @user-it5cc9jh1u 7 месяцев назад

      Of course it is possible that either the DC or AC output was left on, however I do not believe that was the case as I'm very careful with batteries and do recall checking on them periodically noting that the displays were off. I've returned it to Pecron and they said after they've had a look they will let me know what was wrong.

    I wonder if you can charge the E600 with the Pecron AC 600w quick charger and max out at 400w 🤔 If you own the E2000LFP then just use that brick to charge the E600 and you'll trim the charge time down to 1.5 hours. Especially helpful if you're charging from a generator.

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  Год назад

      I doubt it would be an issue. The charger is within spec of the charging port and the power station will limit the input automatically. That shouldn't be an issue.

    Interesting that the model now (6.15.'24) for sale on Pecron's site is rated at a max of 300W input on the bottom DC(/PV) input. Even more interesting that this port is listed as "Voc 32V~95V / 300W Max / 15A Max", which really makes no sense, because even the lowest rated input voltage of 32V would result in 480W if inputting at the rated 15 Amps. It's like they derated the overall power input of the port for some reason, but it can (possibly) still actually handle 400+W.
