- EDGEWATER MAN ARRESTED AFTER SHINING LASER AT AIR ONE HELICOPTER
An Edgewater man who pointed a laser at the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Air One helicopter yesterday got a reminder that shining a laser pointer at a pilot in flight is a felony.
Ryan Hutton, 29 (DOB 6/20/1991) was arrested without incident Tuesday morning in Edgewater after Air One led a deputy and police officer to his boat on the Intracoastal Waterway. A green laser pointer was recovered from the boat. Hutton said he pointed it at the helicopter thinking it was a drone.
At the time of the incident shortly after 7 a.m., Air One was in flight on a burglary call when the laser beam hit the right side of the aircraft, illuminated the cockpit and hit the pilot in the right eye. It caused partial loss of vision for 3 to 5 minutes, which the pilot described as similar to having a flash bulb go off in front of his eye.
Hutton was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail, where he posted $5,000 bond.
These people look like 40 year old teenagers who drink beers and shoot up on the river while laughing about their laser pointer
1) There is no way he thought that that was a drone. 2) How many warrants did they have?
Prove it. And how many warrants do you Have ?
@@AaronDrake22 Dumbest comment ever Aaron, makes no sense.
@@AaronDrake22bro what are you even saying
1:20 It's legal to buy a gun, but it's not legal to go shooting vehicles.
Yup. Guns purpose according to laws are for self defense.
Yeah, that was a particularly dumb question. It's legal to buy lots of things, but not legal to use them against people. It's legal to buy a car, but not legal to ram somebody else off the road. It's legal to buy a baseball bat, it's not legal to beat a person over the head with it. It's legal to buy gasoline. It's not legal to pour gasoline on someone's car, house, or other property and set fire to it. And so on. What a moron.
@@kawaiimaster3200 The purpose of firearms by Constitutionality is for the creation of a well regulated militia by the people, in which the government has no control. All so that in case the government or a foreign government becomes tyrannical the militia (the people) will be able to defend one self if nor overthrow said government. The State of Virginia has a state motto which is 'sic semper tyrannis' which is Latin meaning Death to Tyrants. The US government has desperately tried to remove militias by the creation of the National Guard but has failed in doing so. The 'well regulated' part in that text of the 2nd amendment means well armed in late 1700s English.
Firearms are a class of weapons which in essence is a tool, that is all they are. It is people who can use them for good or evil. Many will argue good use of a firearm is using it to defend oneself against a person committing a criminal act. One of the first steps of curbing the ownership of firearms is gun registries, second step is criminalizing (civil court) the right to defend one self by having criminals and or their surviving families sue to person who rightfully defended themselves.
bump stocks, too. don't put them on your assault weapons, kids!
@@kawaiimaster3200 a gun doesn’t have a purpose according to the law. In America it’s legal unless it’s illegal. It’s legal to do literally whatever you want with except break the law.
Misread the title as laser strike on Air Force One
Why would someone do something like that? Would they like to pay for the helicopter when the cause it to crash and then pay the medical bill for the pilot after he is hurt. Or funeral expenses if they kill him. Then like they explained to him it is a felony.
Show me one time a helicopter crashed because of a laser.
@@poorchristopher15 Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it wont.
Pilots have suffered from eyesight issues in the past due to lasers, and aircraft have had to redirect due to medical emergencies because of them.
@@poorchristopher15 show me one time when having a laser shone into the cockpit of a helicopter or plane helped the pilot
@@martynas1819 Maybe it is a distress signal or someone asking for help from down below.
@@poorchristopher15 if you had a brain you’d realize when you can’t see you can crash 🤣
Why would one even want to point a laser at a drone?
I think our perpetrator is a neurosurgeon! “How is it not illegal to sell them, then??”
They should have just stuck with the fishing idea and left the laser at home next time.
Way to go officer Levesque! 🙃
Wow that is bad they should not have done that they could have made the helicopter pilot crash
As many people that use lasers I'm glad to see one finally get what he deserves
Poor guys got caught up because of their buddy
What might seem like a harmless stupid prank, turns out to be a federal crime. 🤷♂️
It is
Looooool....

Dudebro stoners with a laser. These guys are going places.

Told on the homie... throw it in the water fool
Cops then call in scuba Divers
Youll be trying to get any type of laser if this country falls, it's a great offensive and defensive weapon depending on the watts.
How is a laser effective for self defense?
@@poorchristopher15Blinding people (not recommended of course)
@@poorchristopher15 lol… ever had one shined in your eyes? Try it sometime and that question will be answered for ya.
@@agcatdriver I have never had a loser pointed at my eyes.
