I nearly cried of excitement and had goosebumps all over my body when the F1 cars went by. I would've loved to be at the Nordschleife, but sadly the V10 was only on the Nürburgring, which is why I stayed there

everyone is talking about the red bulls but i loved the ferrari 312T just as much. that was a time where the driver made the difference not just the car. manual unsynchronized gears no electronics almost no downforce. love it

I agree though, if you look at the midfield at a macro level, there is some fierce competition in there, and upgrades causing teams to shuffle around in performance. Just ignore redbull and we'd have a great championship on the calendar.
I like how the change from these in to the modern era separated the people who watch for the cars vs people who watch for the technology. "Like" isn't the right word. I don't think most people liked the change.

Honestly, go look at the kind of cars that drive around there at full whack, if they crashed those guys could kill themselves easily. F1 cars can go into a wall at 200mph these days and the driver will walk away with bruising. Every year people get killed in motorsport all over the world, look at the Isle of Man TT to name just one such case. Yet, in some of the safest cars, people are still trying to wrap the best drivers in the world in cotton wool. F1 could absolutely race here with sensible precautions and it would be no more dangerous than any other track where tragedies can and have happened. I would almost guarantee that, given the chance, Vettel and DC would have gone for it. The more likely reason for F1 never returning here is that it would cost a lot of money to take the above sensible precautions.

'What about when they are going too slow for considerable downforce' I hear you ask. Well then they aren't going to take off and/or get hurt. Cars race on the ring that are far less safe than F1 cars, one such example you pointed out. Look at Zhou's crash at Silverstone or Aloso's in Australia 2016. They walked away, no damage. How many wingsuiters die? Rock climbers? Skiers? Mountain bikers? Yet they aren't banned are they.

I'm sure they have set days per year where certain race cars are allowed on track that breach the decibel limit, the surrounding villagers are made aware its on these set days

No it's not. I think it was either in the 60s or 70s, when the F1 cars were as fast as todays supercars, they actually raced there. But they realised it was way too dangerous. I think there were deaths involved and Nicki Lauda had a rough accident as well there. So yeah, it's not the first time an F1 car has been on the Nordschleife.
