THANK YOU for your videos....They were very very helpful in the building of this truck...I had the kit and had no idea where to start...Your videos helped me complete it and its coming along pretty well...
Hey cool vid, i just bought a WPL-B36 KM 1/16 6 wd from bangood and i thought it was complete but it appears there is no controler or battery... can you recomend what i should get to get it running... this is my first rc build and i thought it would be fun but im kinda lost :-(
if you want to go full WPL then the WPL Res V3 system works pretty good but you can go stand alone electronics. 30a esc and a flysky or hobbyporter tx/rx and you have a good setup.
as usual amazing video, i just want to ask if you have done a video on the wltoys 12423? its a really cheap shortcourse truck and its supposedly faster than a slash (i only saw one drag race video and it won).
@@RunThatRC I saw your videos on it! at the time i wrote that comment i wanted the short course truck body (12423) but after doing some research ive bought the 12428. not the one youve got though, its a green one i think, but im gonna be plastidipping the cage black.
So today I bought my first mn99 😬 and I just watch this video bc I’m thinking on putting this metal upgrade just bc it looks nice 😪😪 but I feel it’s gonna be complicated since I have never drove any of this RC cars before in my life 🤣 let’s see how it goes
I used a mini 30a esc. I recommend 30a at the least. But with these little red Esc's you dont really know if it is 30a hahaha. I like to use the wpl esc receiver combo with sound and lights now a days but I wanted to do stand alone electronics for this build.
you can make it as expensive or as inexpensive as you want. If you use the WPL combo v2 or v3 esc receiver then you will get a lot of options for the price. Or flysky gt3c tx/rx and 30a esc should work too but it is a more expensive option.
Great video as always. Many thanks. Just a quick note and a bit off track. I don't know if you have tested the Fayee FY004A RTR truck as yet but, I have found it is a good reliable performer, straight out of the box (Tested it in a limestone area using 3 batteries.). I tend to think it is better and more reliable than the WPL B36 standard RTR straight out of the box (The front driveshaft on mine fell off in the first 2 minutes and kept falling off). Let me know what you think when you have time. Cheers.
Nice video bro, want to ask if use dual speed motor it needed some modification on body shell or not? Since the motor size bigger than standard. Thanks.
Do the KM axles fit better together now? I've seen a good 5 or more fairly long videos demonstrating how they needed to modify stuff just get it to fit. I didn't see any problems in this video though, so I was wondering what is going on and how I can be sure not to get a faulty kit if I buy one now. Thanks.
I see that complain as well and sometimes the axles feel like they are binding and don't run smooth. I have been able to assemble these axles with minimal to no binding when new and even with a little bit of bind they free up after a couple of runs and everything on my kits run pretty good. Also if you purchase from the official site they will take care of you if the item has issues.
I've always wanted a 6wd. But I guess it would be kind of pointless to buy wpl because my 1:10 scale scx10 and gmade gs02f will outperform them so much that wpl becomes very boring to drive. I do like the leaf springs wpl use. I wish wpl c24 also came with leaf spring.
I have a bunch of 10th scales but they don't make these boring at all imo. These are a smaller scale so you will be able to run in different terrain that would normally be boring or not passable by a 10th scale but fun with a 16th scale.
@@RunThatRC good point. maybe I should trying owning a 1:16 scale. I've only had 1:36 1:12 1:10 1:8 and 1:5 rc cars. I wish I had 1:12 crawlers. I got to many 1.9 tires that I find slightly to small for my 1:10 cars.
@@RunThatRC i’m working on a KM kit. With the metal front axle should the kit come with a metal steering rods? If not how do you use the plastic on the metal axle? Thanks

Nice! Glad it helped
You are the WPL MASTER!!!
Great video
Thanks 😅
Sweet little trucks!
this is so informative. keep making videos. I ran into the same binding issue and your fix was spot on! thanks RTR!
Good info for budding WPL Builders!!!! Kia kaha from KiwiLand
Wohooo. Watching your video has some mood relaxing therapeutic effect hehe
Great video and bHilda’s as always 👍🏼 can you do a video of gluing tires of a wpl tire?
nice KM bro like this one more
Great build bro, as always everything explained nicely. Those KM version are much better in my opinion. Nice video 😸😸
Yes the KM stuff is my favorite.
Thank you for another great video! I really appreciate you buddy!
Great content! Thank you Sir!

@@SshiggyY nice they are fun.
Will there be a video comparing the 3? Showing their differences
yes im going to make a running performance comparison video when I can wake up early enough to beat the heat hahaha.
your videos are cool

make sure to get the mn model specific upgrade parts. the wpl axles are shorter width than the mn axles.
Run That RC yes sir let see how it goes
Run That RC can you please send me a link or something or the specific parts
Amazing!!! thanks for the tips! 🖒🖒🖒
No problem!!
what did you use as esc ? just any brushed esc will work yes?
I used a mini 30a esc. I recommend 30a at the least. But with these little red Esc's you dont really know if it is 30a hahaha. I like to use the wpl esc receiver combo with sound and lights now a days but I wanted to do stand alone electronics for this build.

Super cool how much would the km metal one cost with electronics all together is it expensive to get it completely built?

I swapped out the wheel bolts for 2.5x6mm cap screws, you're far less likely to strip the heads on them.
Good advice!

I havent tested any other brand thats similar to WPL except the MN Model stuff. I may have to check it out. thanks for the info!

no modifications needed installs in factory location with enough room.
Wow, thanks.

Should the metal steering rod PnP to the WPL B16 RTR plastic steering hub? Or Do I need some mod/trick to do that?
you will need to mod the arm to accommodate the ball end. It's shouldn't be to difficult to mod.
@@RunThatRC Okay. A little cut or drill can do the trick I suppose 👍 Thanks!
Can i ask bro, i have my mn99s and i want to upgrade the gearbox, which is better? Wpl single speed or 2 speed gearbox?
I use the stock 180 motor gear box and the 2 speed. Mainly the 2 speed is my gearbox of choice because I like to walk trails.
I've always wanted a 6wd. But I guess it would be kind of pointless to buy wpl because my 1:10 scale scx10 and gmade gs02f will outperform them so much that wpl becomes very boring to drive. I do like the leaf springs wpl use. I wish wpl c24 also came with leaf spring.

sir, i want to ask, which is better, wpl b14 kit or wpl b14 rtr?
kit is always better. you get better tires and you learn the model inside and out.
The kit have shims what are they for
incase you need a better gear mesh in the axles ring and pinion gears.
@@RunThatRC OK thank you
