I think sometimes people miss the point with WPL's. I don't know of many other manufacturers RC's that get altered and modified to such an extent. Nice builds! looks like a fun time. Still have my c43km running. Pretty easy to build but alot to it. 1/2 runner 1/2 scale model. If you just merely build it ok, but start to detail it and it comes alive.
When it comes to RTR, WPL is lacking some of the niceties of a kit. But that has most always been the case. I know the folks that put these together probably aren’t paid much by our standards, so if they miss a piece of flashing, they miss a piece of flashing. I know when I’m building something, flashing you will not see. But don’t we all do that if we’re doing it for ourselves. I have a dozen or more WPLs in my garage. They are small, easy to handle and tough. It took eleven months to break my first one and that was only a blown motor. As for customizing, I buy a lot of toy vehicles just for the hardbody and 1/16 is a relatively common size. With only a modest amount of work to both chassis and body…….. fun. If you buy a real WPL from the official website or store, you will get quality with excellent customer service. Best of all … the price.
I get confused what's in my rigs sometimes! I have a few with unbranded 1060 clones, but that one actually has a Carson Dragster 70. It is base from the definition of an RC crawler by individual. If they need extreme and urnreal crawling go for the expensive one that you pay just for the brand. But for a bit realistic crawling which i use to video or shoot all are good .
A lot of people buy wpls expecting the world from them and then theyre dissapointed, but theyre endlessly upgradeable and i think the challenge is far more interesting, if you pay 500+ for a rig you know it will do whatever you put it thru, but with a wpl/MN or other cheaper brand you get more scale details and a challenge and it doesnt make you feel bad when you brake it or decide to change it up! Wpl forever ✌

when they first came out, plastic bevel gears in the axles and a wimpy 130 motor in a too tall ratio'd #316 gearbox, YES, they were junk! the metal axle gears and the tan B-36 gearbox woke them right up. I don't know about now, but axle casing plastic and axle bridge plastics were too brittle back when too. after doing some upgrades they can perform really well, I have several. if you want a laugh check out my first video, a C24+B14 hybrid lowered and made to drift.

I have wpl questions: if a c54-1 is just different accessories then a c54, can I assume that's the same singular difference between a c24-1 and a c24? And why is a c24 the same price point as a c54 when it's far worse in specs? I wanted the c24 but who would buy the one where the transmission hangs low? Aliexpress is a site I've seen referenced on this channel, but I seen wpl c54s and c24s for like $30; can that site be trusted cuz that's just too cheap for me to feel like it's a real website?.... thx
I love wpl! Specially the d12/42. My d12 is probably the most fun rc for the buck. but still i think they sucks and you just showed us that with this video.
I have to say I'm not a big fan of wpl, I get that there is a lot of people that like them. My experience is that out of the box they break all the time and you end up spending quite a bit of money and time making them good, at which point I would just rather buy a redcat gen 7 or something similar for the same money that I just dumped Into a little wpl, saving myself the Hassel and having a better rig In the end. But to each his own.
no arguing a WPL will nickle and dime ya along the way, but not too badly. the newer C-14 kit is great if you know the free mods to give it as you're assembling.

I actually don't think WPL is junk, but it is by no means high quality stuff. It excels in scale realism to an extent and maximizing performance from inexpensive product. It is just an alternate business model. Most people don't actually beat the shit out of their rigs. So WPL stuff is fine and you can make them look awesome because the manufacturers don't give a shit about respecting patents or licensing law.
WPL are great the rtr model is just to make sales and for people who dont do the tech side. What rc can you get today that comes at a low cost and ready to upgrade in near any direction you imagination will take you.
did one on a budget, available hard wheels, 1st counter gear removed and a 280 motor with 9 tooth 0.4 modulus pinion into the next gear. drifts well and still stock electrics in there. soften the front, a little camber and toe out, is all it took to get it happening.
Just received one of their kits, and by the time I actually got it, it was mangled pretty bad... tried to contact customer service, which apparently is non-existent.
Awesome rcs 🚙🚙👌 great video, thanks for sharing
Cheers Mike
I think it’s funny how people easily drop $500 in a $100 car… it makes no sense whatsoever to me
I've got a c24 which ive weatherd up I love mine and fantastic value for money, granted I do rather my 10th scale stuff but these are king of the small scale, I mean come on there cheaper than the scx24's and you get a hard body in a slightly bigger scale bur still small enough to use indoors and cheap enough to let your kids have a rip around
A285004 oil filled shocks with lighter springs, widened stock rims with trimmed original soft tires, 9 turns 2 mm solder (3 wide 3 thick) to the front rims, a C-14/24 gets pretty good!
I have a c24 and a d12. I need to do something with them. The d12 will be a drifter, the c24 a recovery vehicle. I like them.
Good combo! 👌
Hey Phil! i got a issue with my RC.. when i ajust my throttle trim to speed 3.. either its not working or running on its own.. i hope you know the fix🥹
Great video as always! What's the multi-wheel logging truck that appears at 03:20?
I have only purchased one WPL-when I received it felt just like a toy from WalMart. What makes these beloved by so many?
They grow on you 😉🤟
Love that flex on c44 , what's the the shock set up?
They are great for somebody to start this hobby because they are affordable,i love customizing mine and then shoot some youtube videos for them. And omg their hard bodies ❤
Love my C14’s… cheap and easy to upgrade
Yes, that’s one of the things that makes them great
What is that first crawler that has the tiny wheels and tires on it?
Can’t beat Paul at springwood, top bloke and a great place, if I’d of known you where going I’d come to say what’s up,
COOL VIDEO ✌🏼
LOOKS LIKE A GREAT EVENT PHIL 🇬🇧👍🏼😁
Where u guys take rims from? I am searching thru internet and am not able to find any decent ones :(
when they first came out, plastic bevel gears in the axles and a wimpy 130 motor in a too tall ratio'd #316 gearbox, YES, they were junk! the metal axle gears and the tan B-36 gearbox woke them right up. I don't know about now, but axle casing plastic and axle bridge plastics were too brittle back when too. after doing some upgrades they can perform really well, I have several.
if you want a laugh check out my first video, a C24+B14 hybrid lowered and made to drift.
why you´ve never done wpl c74 yet?
and can you please when you show a car and its battery or lipo you put in, tell us running time in minutes and not in short decent long. cause my first ever rc car is still on its way and im yet to purchase a battery...
ohh hb zp1001 stock what battery should i buy to get 1h run time? and 3-4hours maybe. thanks
That green one is a beast
The big logging truck was nice 👍 ,
I have wpl questions: if a c54-1 is just different accessories then a c54, can I assume that's the same singular difference between a c24-1 and a c24? And why is a c24 the same price point as a c54 when it's far worse in specs? I wanted the c24 but who would buy the one where the transmission hangs low? Aliexpress is a site I've seen referenced on this channel, but I seen wpl c54s and c24s for like $30; can that site be trusted cuz that's just too cheap for me to feel like it's a real website?.... thx
I love wpl! Specially the d12/42. My d12 is probably the most fun rc for the buck. but still i think they sucks and you just showed us that with this video.
Whos dark green with black doors c34/c44 is that ?near start of the vid
I have to say I'm not a big fan of wpl, I get that there is a lot of people that like them. My experience is that out of the box they break all the time and you end up spending quite a bit of money and time making them good, at which point I would just rather buy a redcat gen 7 or something similar for the same money that I just dumped Into a little wpl, saving myself the Hassel and having a better rig In the end. But to each his own.
no arguing a WPL will nickle and dime ya along the way, but not too badly.
the newer C-14 kit is great if you know the free mods to give it as you're assembling.
Wowww that B36 wood logger!
It was massive!
I love my wpl's also my mn86km sooo underated for affordability!
That landy tho 💚💚💚
So nice!
Content is epic, love my WPl but what was the song? Really enjoyed it
8 WPLs, all metal, 6x6, 8x8, still spent less than a single axial.
Great footage mate 😊 definitely was a great day I love to see how all the different trucks handle the trails gives me a lot to think about will making new ones 😂 was great meeting you an thank you for the shout out 😊 really appreciate it remember just message me on fb are grab my number of sam I'm always open as long as I know your visiting 😊🙋♂️
Cheers mate, your place is awesome . You’ll be seeing more of me after August… I’ll have a bit more time on my hands then 👌
I actually don't think WPL is junk, but it is by no means high quality stuff.
What model is in your thumbnail? Cut down fender land cruiser
WPL are great the rtr model is just to make sales and for people who dont do the tech side. What rc can you get today that comes at a low cost and ready to upgrade in near any direction you imagination will take you.
Uve got some wpl's timely. And been doing metal upgrades and mods. I've got the first metal seesaw video.
OMG1 2:58 is my favorite build. Who did this!!?
I want that for a mud truck... Awsome
Omg the new axial utb axles fit to the wpls omg 😲 😍
I love my WPL's such fun RC trucks, like a model car you can build and drive , my channel is mainly Wpl content
same
One mans junk another mans treasure 👍 great video killin it as always
Nice crawlers,
But everyone knows kids want quickness and speed.
Hello from southeast alaska. I would like to try a wpl. They look fun. Might order one soon to try it out
Hi 👋
Yes wpl is good . I'm wanting a kei to make a small drift truck the reel ones are cool
Love me my WPL D12 drift build lol
did one on a budget, available hard wheels, 1st counter gear removed and a 280 motor with 9 tooth 0.4 modulus pinion into the next gear. drifts well and still stock electrics in there.
soften the front, a little camber and toe out, is all it took to get it happening.
Great rigs for tinkering and modifying…….good budget crawlers
WPL is a price-reasonable entry level RC model
let everybody easy buy RC and enjoy them
Couldn’t handle the music on this one. Hahahaha
I love my wpl c24 it's a beast once you do some mods it's even better they just want to spend all there money on name brand stuff
The brown one has a small malaysian roadtax sticker on it... Lol
I live around the corner from were you film but sadly I never see you ripping the cars about
WPL C44 is the best after Upgrade Portal Axle
Just received one of their kits, and by the time I actually got it, it was mangled pretty bad... tried to contact customer service, which apparently is non-existent. Cannot seem to contact them through the website. So yeah, now I'm stuck with this thing. It's going to take a fair amount of work to get the body repaired. Meantime, I keep getting E-mails calling me "Bro" and other meaningless nonsense. So yeah, so far, I'm not real impressed
Doesn’t sound like the official store… should have come in a double walled outbox. I’ve never had one arrive from there damaged?
All of my wpl stuff bought from the wpl store direct has been packed in double wall boxes and arrived undamaged, sounds as though you may have purchased a wpl from the non wpl store who didn't take the time to pack it properly
