Alex kowaliuk here would you consider taking the x o1 and putting in the infraction steering and avc gyro.with an 8s setup. ?? I think you could make the xo1 what it was meant to be.???
Bruh it 0.50 punds i am broke and I want a free rc crawler plsss let me get one you don't want or need please I want to make crawler videos but I can't cause my broke it's one my RUclips channel and the one I use is my brother's come on le met getting it for free and everyone comment and like this comment so that he could see it
I actually agreed with the guy $325 is far from cheap that was his point he didn’t show hate there was no name calling. Maybe leave the internet drama in your head today😂😂
Just keep doing what you do, Tom. You can not please 100% of the people 100% of the time. If they want Cheap... Here in the States, we have a store called Walmart. They can get a RC for as little as 19.99 !
I was having this issue with a WPL that a customer brought in to me for repair. It turns out that replacing the cheapo battery pack it comes with, with a better 2S lipo fixed the cut out problem. My guess is that the cheap batteries they come with have too much voltage sag causing the LVC to kick in constantly when the motor is under load.
yeah, that controler looks exactly like the one that came with the D12, and they cut out exactly like that if you try to drift it in a gryppy surface if you keep at it long enought. I like wpl's shells a lot and usualy go crazy with the mechanical parts. Like a blue C24 with MN axles and metal suspension for stability and flex, or a red one retrofited to leaf suspension and a tamiya 540 for 4wd drifts. They are cars to thinker with more than anything else for me, and I love them for that.
Let's be real, RC is a well-to-do man's game. A decent build, on average, is going to run you $600 and up. Anything less than that technically qualifies as cheap, and you should expect to get what you paid for. That said, I appreciate the existence of WPL. They make a decent entry point to get people into RC and give them a taste.
It's actually gone nuts over the past 2 yrs. To give you an idea, when the Toyato first came out, it was around $199 CDN. Now? It's the same price as the Tamiya F250. I picked up a 144001 for $79 CDN on amazon in 2021 and it's now $179 and up. The RGT pioneer used to be around $229 CDN now it's $500 and up.
I like the Jimny more then the new release but i like the old C24 even better, just adding some soldering wire inside the wheels makes it 50% more capable. Thanks for the video!
I have 12 WPL’s (some of them still not built) but stopped buying them because by the time you upgrade all the electronics and metal parts you’ve spent enough to get something like a 1/10 Losi 22s when they’re on sale for $149 etc. If they would at minimum put some oil shocks, metal parts and just use the Kit tires for everything it would help. I still like them and enjoy building them it’s just the prices have gone up considerably but they’re still the same toy/hobbyish grade RC’s.
Yup, some of us buy a cheap RC car and like to do an upgrade/modified things... And some of us will say pffft, why not buy another RC car that more better than wpl c64-1? Its just a same if you do the upgrade... 😂😂😂 That is short thinking and not open minded... Even a better RC car need an upgrade too... Am i right? 🤭
Wpl make some amazing looking vehicles, but performance of the electronics is an after thought, I have a few and other than sitting on a shelf and lookin phat I dont drive them, ever.

It seems like the control is much better than the original c54, maybe I'll get another WPL soon.
The FCX24 Blazer was such a game changer for me. Affordable and easy to take everywhere. Also a ton of little accessories and upgrades already available. It’s been a fun little garden crawler. Now I’ve been eyeing something bigger and it’s not so bad when it’s a gradual increase in price as opposed to immediately dropping 500 bones (worms)
These WPLs are great toys for those who are looking to invest a bit of extra money and tinker with the upgrades. Playing with these isnt that much fun as rebuilding them on the weekends to make suspension tweaks and imrovements. Then somethink breaks and the endless cycle repeats. Think these are ideal as cheapest beginner crawlers, especially in RTR form. This one is definitely a buy. But im going to wait until they work out these cutting out issues after the first batch is sold out everywhere for a bit. Absolutely loved building my c24. This will be a great addition to the fleet.
Alex kowaliuk here, I appreciate the cheap stuff but I the end you spend more on the cheapos by the time your where you want to be you could have just bought the good ones and made out better
about the cheap... he is kinda right... but also not.... if youre pretty much rich.. like the other one uk youtuber...then cheap is everything under 1000 $ honestly... but when you have like 1500$ monthly...everything over 200$ is expensive as hell...
20k for a functional Lamborghini is cheap and if you ask anyone they'll agree but 20k is still a lot of money but most people seem to not understand that concept, they think cheap equals a 2 digit dollar figure
Vanquish is SO much better than Traxxas! That's insane that Traxxas is able to sell ANY crawlers overseas at that price. If I walked in a hobby shop in Colorado and they told me $700 for a TRX-4 I would laugh in their face.
Have the same cut out problem with my C24-1 and found it it's the little plastic connectors on the board that shake loose. I had to just gut it and replaced with an exhobby 2 in 1 receiver/esc
I've always thought WPL were surprising. I have 3. 2 are c24's and a d12. Which reminds me, I need to fish them out and have another look. Thanks for sharing this one mate.
Cross RC XX10 T-REX Please show wiring in the cab and in the chassis. Got of these on the list for the next couple months. Just trying to work out mods for interior. What interior would you go for? I am thinking about a bus from fast and furious FPV camera in the turret on the front, possible thermal camera and head tracking with manual controls FPV for driving with night vision and head tracing BB fire controls on front turret Weapons station monitoring in cab with screen from turret FPV proximity sensors station and range finder CCTV monitoring screens for workers of the M198's Some lower chassis lights plus a whole lot more For this build can you upload pictures of stuff of interest please or more over head shots where you slow down more so we can learn how the pro's do it 🙂. Cross RC as always just don't show you things you need to know. They built it but didn't show any of the wiring for where it went. Also need those chassis shots to see where there is empty space. If possible can you try to add a traxxas 3s battery some where in the chassis lie maybe under the motor or in the rear? I would like to keep the storage boxes for ammo for the m198's and other things, like tools and javelin missiles. If you can show a battery that fits and tell us the battery make and model we'll know for sizing. For this truck I am thinking about adding 2000kv motors, I wonder if when cross said dont exceed 12100Kv what they really mean but then said if you are going brushless it should be less than 1600Kv? We need to Mr Talbot to build this just so we can see what kinda of destruction he can do as he does. We get info from you then watch Kevin destroy, sorry Game over. Of course great job as always, not trying to rush you on the build 🙂, and love the videos.
I'm just starting out getting into rc crawlers and your videos have been a big help I haven't even bought myself one yet just doing some good studying and pricing before I purchase one
Maybe use the much used political party term " In real terms" or " Value for money"......the hobby is what you make of it. I have as much fun with my cheapo dogs dinner bodges as I do with my 1/10's and bashers.
So those prices sounded crazy for you so I had to look it up for prices here in the US and the high trail is $550 USD. I am sorry Phil but, you are getting it handed to you from behind without the courtesy of some kind words.😢
I don’t have any rc cars and this just randomly came on my feed, but coming from FPV. $325 for a decent setup that includes a controller sounds like a good deal to me lol.
It should be water resistant if it has a snorkel or that's false advertisement 🤣 and atleast you know your doing something right if you have haters 😉 👊🏼😎🤙🏼💨💨💨
I put a 1060 with a a flysky radio and 3s lipo it’s like night and day the jimny with stock electronics was like a Walmart toy now it has potential kept the stock motor and servo in it and it’s working well. Although I’m a little worried about the gears with the added speed to the truck
Your prices are very close to Canadian prices. Expensive hobby , that’s all there is to it. A lot of people want cheap until they get cheap in their hands, then the river of tears flows freely. As you said , cheap is a relative term. It’s pointless to buy a cheap rc if you have to spend a pile of money upgrading it.
I guess some people think cheap in a different way i think the FTX/RGT models are very well priced these days, WPL is cheap but a bit to cheap an nasty i guess some people might think other brands are cheap just different perceptions
I mean the french dude isn't wrong with your tombola tickets it's a sham most of these reaffles has a max ticket sold yours are unlimited and for a shłt car it's outrageous. I bought a few before christmas not for winning because the chance to win in an unlimited ticket sale is astronomically small just for a good cause since if i remember correctly the money went to charity.
Cheap is telative to how long youre going to use it to how long you get bored of the hobby and want to feel like you havent wasted too much money on a frivolous ideas.
I get a lot of the same flak where I'm from. Just with bicycles. People look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them I paid $4,000 for my mountain bike or when I tell them the price of that "cool looking electric bicycle" their children are using as a jungle gym in my bike shop lol They think they can just get one from the good ol' walmart and it's just as good
I do have to agree $325 isn’t exactly budget friendly for a Chinese non licensed knock offs. I appreciate the video but I relate to the comment as well.
Except for the occasional cut out the little truck perform well. It's truly a cheap crawler. I found it interesting for a lot of the WPL crawlers you can get same day deliver from Amazon in the U.S. for no extra charge. There's more to the determination of cheap than just the new price. If you buy an r/c car and it's breaking all the time, it's not good value no matter what the price. The RGT you tested for a year was worth the cost. I think Redcat is a company that have some cheap crawlers that give good value.
@@tomley_rc That's too bad. I watched one review of one of its cheapest crawlers, the Danchee Ridgerunner. It's a very basic and flexible crawler. It's 1/10 with locked diffs. standard steering, four wheel steering, crab steering, rear wheel steering, dual motors and portal axles. It's price is $169. The dual motor eliminates the transmission, The reviewer is usually tough on the cars/trucks he tests. He liked it I would like to see your opinion of it.

People need to be careful with the addiction of being cheap. For instance, once you start buying cheap brakes.....
You won't be able to stop.
😁
Happened to me once on my dirt bike 😂
Nice 😂
Ignore the haters buddy. Nothing about this hobby is cheap
That's for sure.
Well, there are some cheapo's that are decent.... but most of the hobby is certainly not cheap
I actually agreed with the guy $325 is far from cheap that was his point he didn’t show hate there was no name calling. Maybe leave the internet drama in your head today😂😂
@@2WingSamebird24Thing is, the whiners don't tell us what is actually cheap and good in their opinion and so their whining is pointless.
You are definitely right
You can have a lot of fun with cheap and cheerful RC's. You just have to be realistic with your expectations.
You certainly can
Cheap isn't always cheerful, you do see your money in the other RC cars. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, great video 👍
Yes, 100%
Just keep doing what you do, Tom.

I really appreciate how you can take a cheap car and make it look awesome. Hail to the king
I had the same isue with my b36 cutting out but I think that was due to the fact the battery I was running was a piece of S***.
Why dont you get the kist of the people that paid to enter that drawlimg for the mt10 and redraw out of thos people?
That landcruiser is a rip off! I'd rather get the rc run lc80 chassis! It's so life like.
We need something in between, not 100€ and not 300€, something good at 200€ will be a nice spot, and there's not much there
Mostly, you get what you pay for. Maybe a better expression rather than cheap would be ‘good value’
the throttle button controls drag brake, on and off, does not control throttle speed, according to WPL
Perhaps people would get less upset if you said affordable or reasonably priced
