Carol, I watch a TON of online jewelry tutorials and I want you to know that - in my opinion - you are an EXCELLENT teacher and I prefer your tutorials over everyone else. Yours are always very clear, and most importantly, you can see everything you're doing (great camera awareness). Also, while you are very welcoming and pleasant, you don't waste time with silly chatter. You take the mystery out of the technical end of jewelry making and encourage your viewers by make it all so very doable. I appreciate your style, teaching technique, and beautiful jewelry so much. Thank you!
BEST, BEST, BEST tutorial I have ever seen on making loops. I have been struggling with all the mistakes you showed, but I won't anymore ❤ thank you for taking the time to teach us.
Thank you so much, Kit. I'm glad you found this one useful. Remember to check out the other video on how to make perfect loops. ruclips.net/video/dcEQ3SV_pyk/видео.htmlsi=TlXDae3fiaBvS3V4
It's January 10, 2024 and I just discovered you today. Thrilled is not a sufficient word to describe how I feel about this discovery. I will be watching all of your videos as I have so much to learn. Thank you❤
I just bought a huge quantity of beads and supplies from a friend who needed to let them go, with only a vague idea of what I was going to do with them. Your videos are so helpful!
Hi Carol, I had been trying to make a decent loop for a long time now without results! I have watched so many tutorials, still nothing! Then I gave up trying, until I came across this video of yours. There is only one thing I can say, you opened my eyes! Now my loops are most of the times perfect, and that's all because of you! Thank you so much! You are doing an excellent job, teaching us noobies... Keep up the good work! I love your videos :)
Thank you so much, Fay. I'm really pleased that my video could help you. Here's another one about loops that might help too. ruclips.net/video/dcEQ3SV_pyk/видео.htmlsi=Fz1iVI4UvqAcdHRN
Carol, I see that you are a wonderful teacher! Thank you so much for taking your time. Once again the necklace is beautiful! I think that you made the right decision to make the right bead !
Carol, thank you so much for your tutorial. Your instructions are easy to follow, and I love your technique in making small loops. I have struggled with this, as a new jewelry maker, and you have really helped me!
Thank you so much Tammy. Most new jewellery makers do struggle with loops. You might find this video useful as well. ruclips.net/video/dcEQ3SV_pyk/видео.html
Omg I love you, you’re my go-to channel for jewelry making even though my style is a little different. Your technical prowess is phenomenal! Thank you!!
I’m in love with the Boho style, leather cord and funky beads :) I’ve adored many of your creations, like the dragon scale earrings for one! I usually just change out the hardware you use, yet stick to the structure you present. I appreciate all you do!
Thank you so much,@@lindsaymcdonald8790. I love boho too but my style of jewellery fluctuates a bit. I also love quite refined classic pieces. I meet somewhere in the middle I think.
@@The_Stylish_Maker I just had an “aha!” moment. I’d been thinking of your pieces as like, “edgy classic” in my head lol but I’m re-watching some videos and I now definitely see the Boho influence in some of them that I’d missed before. Very cool! I think you have amazing taste, and as an aside, I’ve forever wanted my hair cut like yours, but I’ve never been able to talk myself into going for it. ❤️
Ha ha, thank you. I do have an edgy vibe but I also really like boho too. Go on - do it. Hair grows back! Actually where I live it's so windy and I hate my hair in my face, it's a necessity for me to have it short.@@lindsaymcdonald8790
This was the perfect teaching video! I love how you give step by step and show in depth what you are doing and how to correct a mistake. I could hear you perfectly. You have such a calm clear voice.
Regarding the smaller bead in the center instead of a larger bead, I think it makes a nice variation. Particularly when both styles are used in one piece. It's visually interesting.
Really useful tut on constructing a necklace with bead components and jump rings. I suppose you could use a bit of chain here and there, though the jump rings give it a more polished look, AND looks absolutely fab with the matching earrings.
Thank you. I use this technique for making necklaces all the time. In fact, it's way more common for me to make one this way than to string a necklace or use a chain. It makes designing very easy and versatile.
Thank you, Susan. Yes, it is practice and, even when you think you can do them right every time, you'll still have days when they just don't go right. Remember to watch this video too as that contains even more tips. ruclips.net/video/dcEQ3SV_pyk/видео.htmlsi=TlXDae3fiaBvS3V4
Carol, thank you for not only giving us the freedom to mess up and make mistakes, but help us find a way and figure out not only that we CAN fix it, but HOW! Thank you!!
Thank you so much, Sally. I'm so pleased you liked the format of this one. I do try to show my mistakes and how I fix them because we all make them and knowing how to fix them only makes us better.

I used 6mm to join the components and a 4mm to add the clasp. You can find all the steps and details here: www.affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz/blogs/beading-projects/make-loops-like-a-pro
I have a tool question... my round nose pliers is a 1mm tip. I'm having some difficulty getting my spirals really tight. Is there another smaller pliers you can recommend? I was dismayed to find that manufacturer's can list their pliers as having a .5mm tip diameter when in fact they are .9mm!😍 (PS: still dealing with my AJS addiction! LOL!)
Great question, Marcelle. Are you making spirals or are you talking about loops? Do you mean you can't close the loop? It doesn't really matter what size the tip of the pliers are, it's about where you position the wire on the pliers, unless you are wanting to make very tiny loops. You could try bail making pliers like these ones. That would give you a more consistent loop. www.affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz/products/6-in-1-bail-making-pliers-153-5mm-x-78-5mm?variant=43962789265653
@@The_Stylish_Maker Yes, I'm talking about making a closed spiral. So I guess I have to practice closing that tiny loop before I start to spiral. Maybe one day you can do an "essentials" video on that?😁

Could you do a video on the different kinds of wire and explain the different uses? I’m not sure what half hard wire is and if you have to use certain tools with it.
Hi Susan, it's on my list of things to do soon (so many ideas!) but it could be a while. Half hard wire is a wire that's not too soft and not too hard. For example, of you used dead soft wire, it's very flexible and easy to mold. Lots of wire wrapping artists use dead soft wire. Hard wire is often made from stainless steel. Memory wire is a hard wire and it holds its shape. I don't know many people who use hard wire to make loops, etc as it's quite hard to manipulate. Half hard wire is in the middle. It is generally used for making loops and components. I hope that helps.
@@The_Stylish_Maker No. one was part of a set. The other purchased separately and they’ve been used. One other issue I’ve had is that the flush wire cutters seem to lose their cutting edge after a few uses. I’ve resorted to using scissors. Another person mentioned the same issue in a comment. Is there a way to sharpen them, or is there a better brand to purchase.
I'm actually not sure if you can sharpen flush cutters but I would assume they are like any scissors or knives and you do it the same way. I had to learn the hard way that you need to spend a little bit more on flush cutters. The Xuron flush cutters are very good. amzn.to/47tc5DF If you're using hard wire, you are better to use memory wire cutters so that you don't blunt your pliers. amzn.to/3RTAufP. I hope that helps.
@@The_Stylish_Maker Yes, it does. I’ll look for Xuron flush wire cutters. I know about using memory wire cutters for memory wire, so that was not an issue with my cutters.
