I absolutely love your tutorials and have watched them several times. Thank you. One additional technique I have used for restringing vintage necklaces is to take a photograph before 'unstringing' ; just as an extra level of insurance if for some reason I bump the table.
Oh yes, I do that too. Thanks for sharing that MaryJane. I often take photos of things as I make them and then take them apart to change them, just in case I want to go back to a previous version.
Thank you so much for your tutorial. You helped me to repair my grandmothers necklace for my mom. She is so pleased I was able to repair it after the thread broke. Thank you! X
Thank you so much. You might also enjoy my updated version which gives 3 different options. ruclips.net/video/TufaJj25zxU/видео.htmlsi=wgrlvwmLrqhN1K0H
Thank you so much for this fabulous tutorial. So easy to follow and I definitely feel confident doing this now. Your necklace is gorgeous and that silver tiger tail really looks good in the beads. Thanks again.
Thank you so much! Your video is so encouraging! I have several vintage necklaces which need restringing and once I have gathered the right tools, will have the confidence to begin 🌟
I'm looking forward to doing this. I have a lot of beautiful glass beads and pearls that were my mom's and grandmother's. My daughters and granddaughter have some I gave to them at my granddaughter's wedding and I need to inspect them and see if they need restringing. It would be a shame if those 100 year old pearls that belonged to my grandmother broke.
Yes, I agree, Cindy. While you can still use silk thread for restringing, I prefer the Tiger Tail I used here as it's so much stronger and so there's no chance of it breaking. Have fun with those vintage beads! Thank you.
Thank you for your question. I used the technique of making components with a single bead and a loop on each end in this necklace. ruclips.net/video/yMv3VO5aJa8/видео.htmlsi=YhVTeljWw_zlga16
Not on this one. As this was really aimed at non-jewellery makers, I didn't bother. I also just squeezed the crimp tube flat because most non-jewellery makers don't want to purchase special crimping pliers. This video is very old. Check out this video and you will see how I hide my crimps. ruclips.net/video/6MNkAZM7xmU/видео.html
Another great idea to remember pattern is taking a photo up very close on your phone. That's a beautiful piece. Am I the only one that despise crimp beads? Lol. I have such a hard time using them.their so tiny. Everyone makes them look so easy to use. Maybe it's just my big man hands. Lol.
Yes, I take photos of my pieces all the time so that I can remember how they were put together. No, I am right there with you in regards to crimp beads. A necessary evil. Don't even get me started on crimp covers. I do find that the Magical Crimping tool makes it much easier though.
@@The_Stylish_Maker lol. Yeah. I think I struggle most out of the crimp covers. So, they stay in the box. 🤣🤣 I have a crimping tool, I need to give it shot. I've never used it.
That's a shame. You should try the crimping tool. If it's a fold over one, they can be a little tricky to use but the Magical Crimping Tool is really easy to use. Have you watched my video on crimping? ruclips.net/video/xVHTcoYs9rU/видео.html
I used a 0.38mm tiger tail. With all my videos I leave a link in the description box to a blog post that lists all the items I used and links to where you can purchase them.
Do you have any good tips or tricks for making a necklace a little longer? I have two old necklaces from my grandmother and they are in need of restringing, but they are also a bit too small for me. My guess is that you simply purchase some additional beads that look similar or are a pleasing compliment to what is already there and add them in equal measure to the top of both sides leading to the clasp. I just wondered if you had any particular advice.
Hi Joy, thank you for your question - it's a really good one and is very common. I think that you have it right. Either add some more beads that look good with the existing, or you could add a small amount of chain. If it's not too much that is required, you could just add an extender chain. You can watch this video about how to do that. ruclips.net/video/-NQl-MCJL4Q/видео.html I hope that helps. Feel free to reach out again if you need more information.
@@The_Stylish_Maker I just realized you are from New Zealand. It's the most beautiful place I've ever visited. I traveled there in 2016, visited Christchurch on the coastal train, then over to Greymouth and back. What a lovely lovely country! Thanks so much for your videos. They are very helpful.
How do you do this when your necklace splits into two towards the center and has a like a pendant in the middle? One of the sides of a vintage necklace broke and I am Not quite sure how to fix it
Hi Jenny, why don't you email me a photo and I'll email you back with my advice. Hard to tell without seeing it. My email address is carol@affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz.
Thank you for your feedback Annmarie. It's quite hard to get the balance right. In future videos, I've reduced the music a bit so hopefully have resolved that.
Great video and tips. Now just need to get supplies. Thanks much!
That's great. I'm glad you found it useful.

Absolutely beautiful necklace! Thanks for the tutorial. Love your channel!!!
Thank you so much. Even though I restrung this necklace, I hardly ever wear it. I love it but it's too light for me.
Thank you so much for this fabulous tutorial. So easy to follow and I definitely feel confident doing this now. Your necklace is gorgeous and that silver tiger tail really looks good in the beads. Thanks again.
Thank you so much Dani. I'm so pleased that you found it useful. You know that I've not worn this necklace since I fixed it. I should pull it out.

Thank you.
the music is way too loud, it's suppose to be background & barely noticable.
I'm sorry about that. This is an old video and we are always careful to ensure the music is softer in our latest videos.
oh i didnt look at the date, i was up late binge watching your videos, great channel & i did subb. thanks.@@The_Stylish_Maker
