      That's incredibly kind! Thanks for watching.
      And yeah! It's definitely a thing. I've had my mix of successes and failures with it, but I'm in general surprised and pleased with the incredible talent and affordability on there!

    Dear Jesse Haugen !
    Thank you, I had a great time !) There is a great lack of video tutorials on orchestral music mixing. Maybe you could do such a work ?
    Regards, Yaroslav Kniazev.

      Thank you!
      I know what I know from experience and learning on the job, but all the big important orchestral stuff I do, I send to real engineers.
      The best advice I can give is don't think if mixing orchestral music like mixing a bunch of individual tracks/instruments. Think bigger picture: groups, sections, etc.

      Thanks for the tip !
      I'm certainly not obsessing over it. But my projects (tracks) don't sound good !
      I know many examples of my colleagues, with minimal intervention in the project, yet with excellent results.
      I'm definitely doing something wrong )
      I'm still a beginner, but the desire to learn is very strong !
      Thanks for the support !

      Experience and trail and error are going to help you more than anything! Think of each thing as you go and trust your ears!

    Fantastic helpfull video! Just a question. Where and which orchestra did you use for the full orchestra?

    • @jessehaugen
      @jessehaugen  Год назад

      Thank you! I'm so glad you found it helpful.
      I almost always use the Budapest Scoring Orchestra. You can purchase normal sessions or their "shared sessions" which are short 30min recording sessions they offer on limited dates each month. It's a really affordable way to record with orchestra! Been doing it for years. They're really incredible.

    and when you went all out, did you had drums made too ?

    • @jessehaugen
      @jessehaugen  4 месяца назад +1

      Nope! Kept those samples. Hard (and extremely expensive) to replicate the cinematic drum thing live
