    Just bought this grinder and it arrived today. For this reason, I haven't tested it thoroughly yet, of course. In this context, I am interested to know if there are any users who have already created grinding profiles for the different brewing methods. I wouldn't have to start from scratch.

    Two month follow up, I've owned this grinder for two months now. It's stepless until it's NOT. I can adjust the grind in between the steps yes, but the moment i start grinding beans, it drifts towards the stepped line and secures there. there simply isn't enough friction on the grills / grinder adjuster to keep it in place. That is why they included the stepped click in the first place, i can't think of any other function, it's definitely not a "notification". The click feels good and tactile, but it's disappointing because it could technically function as stepless but they just missed it in the functional design overall. it is a good grinder when it comes down the grinds. but NO it is not stepless. and it is inaccurate / dishonest to claim that it is.
    - NOT functionally stepless (it drifts towards the markers when set in between)
    - Micro adjustments, YES. you can make 4 / 5 complete revolutions of the wheel before it pops off. so each "click" is very minute.
    - 1400 rpm means plenty of fines and static.
    - 0.1-0.4 grams of retention between each grind, from static build up in the chamber / chute. have to clean regularly
    - always find between 1-4 beans stuck in the hopper as it not steep enough. have to flick the beans into the grind chamber.

      Hi @ReubenTan-vm3te, thanks for your feedback and input. Good to clarify on our end that your unit was not purchased from us. Also, we have checked with the manufacturer & they have confirmed that the purchase (if you are using the name Reuben Tan) is not directly from them either.
      Anyway, we have been using the T64 on an almost daily basis & have not noticed any previous settings being moved as claimed (grinding back-to-back). It's definitely a stepless grinder & not a false claim as you have mentioned.
      Most of the time, the retention is observed to be between 0.1-0.2g.
      As for your observation of a few beans being stuck in the hopper, honestly speaking, we have not come across such scenarios. If you are using RDT method or oily beans, there might be a chance of that happening. The slope angle in the hopper is definitely steep enough & don't think can be designed to go steeper further.
      Do consider making a video of your observations & have it posted. Since we have already triggered the manufacturer, they are now very eager to know more & will find a solution to fix it (if indeed a valid issue). As shared by the manufacturer, they have a few engineers with vast experience & have been in this industry for many many years in the making of coffee grinders. They are very serious about quality & know the importance of maintaining a good reputation. Do contact the seller where you purchased from for after-sales service & from there, the T64 grinder manufacturer will be involved. Cheers!

      @@almamicroroastery yes this is by no means an attempt to discredit your shop. however, since you are the only ones who have done a comprehensive review of this specific product and asserted certain claims, i'm compelled to respond.
      The distributor of my T64 grinder is also an official channel for my product, I'm just based outside of singapore. You guys just happened to be the only ones who have made these claims about this product while asserting that your review is completely free from the influence of the manufacturer.
      So it actually makes little difference where i got the product from since it's the same product from the same manufacturer...
      It's not at all a bad grinder, I'm still enjoying it despite its flaws.
      I did not say you made a "false claim", i said it was inaccurate for you to say it's stepless because it's not - functionally stepless! It's good to understand the difference!
      When you mentioned you have run the grinder back-to-back without the grind click shifting, was it positioned on the marker or in between? Because in my comment i said it specifically moves when positioned in the space between the markers.

      Yes i do RDT in my prep. but it is absolutely necessary to RDT and I'm confident even the manufacturer would recommend it if i was to counteract the high about static the grinder produces.
      So it's simply my feedback that this is an issue because RDT is a very standard producure for single-dose grinders. So saying that the beans get stuck only because i used RDT, and implying that i shouldn't isn't very helpful. I use a light roast, not oily at all.

    • @ReubenTan-vm3te
      @ReubenTan-vm3te 11 месяцев назад

      my observation about the beans being stuck is not due to the slope. rather the shafts that support the anti-popcorn cap, where the beans are usually found to be stuck.

      @@ReubenTan-vm3te Hi Reuben. It's not claims but extensive in-house tests before coming to a conclusion. As mentioned earlier, the previous settings did not move at all for our unit, and sometimes did set between the lines. So it's indeed true stepless.
      Don't get us wrong. The purpose of highlighting your purchased unit is not from us or the manufacturer is to let readers know that we are not the irresponsible type or not responsive at all.
      Do get in touch with the seller for assistance. Cheers!

    thank you for the presentation of such a well thought and build espresso and coffee grinder. which al least for me has several advantages over the "first mover" in this segment the (meanwhile gen 2) g-iota DF 64: magnetic chute, black anodized housing , smaller and more elegant design, anti static design without the need of ionization e.g., easier adjustment of grinding degrees(with selectable clicks - can be dismounted-), better visible scale ("vertically" print instead horizontally scale). MUCH MORE SOPHISTICATED AND INDIVIDUALLY SPECIFIC CONSTRUCTED MOUNT FOR SSP FLAT BURRS which much better alignment. But one question concerning the sound level demonstration at approximately 07:15 - was this recorded with or without the lid? afaik WITH lid it is much more muted... please let me know

    I was approached by Wendy on Facebook to get my feedback on what I want to see in a grinder. It is good to see they listened (one of the feats was a magnetic shute). I emphasized on the burr carriers alignment from factory and they say they were working on it.
    Any chance you can test the alignment?
    What does the top burr carrier set on? I hated the springs on df64 and df83 I really hope this isn't like them.
    The clicking worries me, does that mean it isn't stepless ?

    • @almamicroroastery
      @almamicroroastery  Год назад +1

      @NANA-gy7yx - Hi there, thanks for your input. We are not associated with or know any person by the name of Wendy from a certain coffee grinder manufacturer.
      Anyway, alignment is done by buyers as it's a time time-consuming process. The stock burrs are titanium-coated burrs as standard.
      It's definitely a stepless grinder. For each grid, there is a click sound which serves as a notification. Users are free to set between the grids. Cheers!

      @DamianSamm - Hi there, thanks for your compliment & enquiry. There will not be any change in the "zero" point (burrs touching each other) before & after deep cleaning with disassembly. Meaning, able to return back to its original zero point even with multiple disassemblys. Cheers!
