The class and ability of a VERY good pilot! I was on 1 lifeflight with my son. The pilot landed on the roof of Children's Hospital and I literally asked him if we were done. These guys amaze me!
I'm nervous about heights when on a building but not when I'm in a plane. That's off topic but I hope you and your son are 100% healthy. Thx for sharing

My son flies the 737. I am so jealous. The years of getting him to the airport before he could drive, going out for $100 hamburgers, helping him study.... OMG they went so fast.

Im 75 years of age but doubt I could ever have been able to learn to fly a large Airliner. Well done guys who can.
I flew on a Philippine Airlines a few years ago, the landing was so smooth it was the sound of the reverse thruster that told us we were on the ground. The worst was a UA landing in Guam, they should issue mouth guards next time!!

Why does the yoke always move so wildly when the pilots are in manual control? The movements make me think the plane is all over the place when it flying smoothly?
Constant yoke movements because constant correction is required. It depends on how still or rough the air is. In turbulence you will see much more yoke movement by the pilot to keep the aircraft on the desired trajectory. Smooth air requires much less. When landing as the plane slows down, the aerodynamic forces on the control surfaces deteriorate, requiring ever larger movements to achieve the desired changes in direction.

When I was a FA I prayed for these landings
I feel like the camera panning to and fro was more turbulent than the landing.
Fun fact: tilted landing gear makes it easier to butter landings, while non tilded wil be harder to land

While I love these videos and find them fascinating, I'm not so sure I love the idea of having cameras in the cockpits. It's just a matter of time before some showboat does something unorthodox or unnecessarily risky for the camera, and crashes.
I know that pilots are, for the most part, highly responsible people who know they have been entrusted with a great responsibility to land a commercial airplane safely and without incident... But there's always that one guy...
Yeah I’m thinking the same. I hope cameras for entertainment won’t be a normal thing in cockpit, specially when flying with passengers and during critical moments of the flight. It’s a non needed distraction.
@Thrill Element huh? I'm talking about that "one guy" who wants to mug for the camera. Remove the camera, and you remove that "one guy" from the equation. Are there other things that "one guy" can do to crash a plane? Yeah, of course there are. Using your logic, it makes no sense for banks to have safes, because breaking into a safe is not the only way to take the bank's money. That's all risk assessment and diminution are about: reducing the chances for mishaps and misadventure.

Good job, but is not a good practice to use the stab trim below 1000 ft, since if You have a stab trim runaway so close to the ground, You Will be in trouble...

As pilots, do you get nervous flying over big bodies of water? Are you ever afraid of having to make an emergency landing or having a mechanical issue and not having a place to land?

I've seen many of these landing videos and I never understood why the have to keep turning the yoke left and right and up and down. My only guess is the wind makes the plane unstable so in order to stabilize thr machine, they have to do that.

On every butter landing, I'm always the one to start clapping and yelling. BRAVO!! BUTTER LANDING!!! BRAVO!!! and the clapping spread through the plane. I'm always the first to start. I write a commendation letter immediately to the HQ CEO. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
