Thanks for the kind words! I’m not 100% sure of the DPS loss but I expect it’s gonna be 4-5k or something in that area. Sustain could get a little tougher though without Carve, but you can just switch foods if necessary. Good luck with it!
Great stuff. While i know that pets are bis, have you done any testing without them and how significant the dps loss would be using something else? Love the class, hate the pets XD or is this something i should only worry about if running trifectas for example.
You can absolutely make it work without pets, but yes the damage loss is BIG. One of the big attractions of Sorcerer is its relative simplicity, but that changes if you unslot the pets and free up 2 slots per bar. Having said that, if you don't care about pumping max DPS all the time (which we probably should not, most of the time) then I find Bow/Bow Stamsorc to be really fun right now.
I know it's less dps, but i really like using dark crystal on stam sorc, and just cast BA between dark crystals when it's called for even if it isn't at 4 stacks.

I understand that the 135K parse was achieved with the 18 second structure shown in the mini guide with both pet dots, carve and attro on cooldown, i.e. casted dynamically, while stampede and trap are casted every 18 seconds, is this correct? How much DPS will someone loose by using Hurricane (on cooldown) instead of carve?
Hey dude, one more question sorry to bother. How do you reach nearly 40k stamina? I'm using the exact same gear, except that my Relequen is not perfected. So i should end up with roughly 1k less than you, but it's rather 10k less than you :( Edit: I noticed that you're playing Dark Elf which is another ~2k, but there's still 7k missing for me somewhere 🤔Or is it really just from the buffs the dummy provides?
There's food, passives, race, enchants, possible CP (the non-slottable kind) and then the Aggressive Horn buff from the dummy. I might be missing something but those are the main ones...
Yes - with Storm-Cursed equipped a Lightning Staff should be much stronger than an Inferno staff. If you prefer to use something like Burning Spellweave then yeah, Inferno works better. Hope that helps!

I tested it and it works fine, but the bonus from the Maelstrom back bar won’t trigger as often so you lose quite a bit of damage (maybe 5k DPS). Also, the rotation then becomes a bit mental, since you’re not meant to spam Crystal Weapon twice in a row, only every other cast.

Hey there! The CPs are shown towards the end of the video, in the second Combat Metrics panel, on the right hand side. The blue CPs are the only ones you need to worry about - green and red are up to you. And a little tip: while Exploiter works great on the dummy and in really optimised groups, chances are you’ll be better off with something like Backstabber or Thaumaturge in most content. Love the setup, but how will a bow make you ranged if have barbed trap, stampede, and carve in the rotation? Wouldn’t backing out of melee range lower you’re dps significantly?
Yeah you're right it's not fully ranged, but it means you only *need* to be melee for a few seconds out of every 20. Even in ranged fights like vAS+2 that's usually enough. I very rarely use a 100% ranged setup, but sometimes you need to sidestep an AOE and move momentarily out of range, so you miss a Light Attack and a spam. The ranged front bar avoids that. Hope that makes sense.
Quick question how do you stay alive? Im just getting back into ESO ive recently solo’d falkreath hold on my old stamsorc build, but when i tried this i kept getting rolled, what is keeping your health up? The builds you see here and in pretty much any dummy test are intended for group content. Trial bosses first and foremost. You gotta make tweaks to make them work anywhere else. For solo stuff I’d replace Kilt with Pale Order and maybe use Crystal Weapon instead of Rapid Strikes on bosses. I’d also bring a separate setup (Sul-Xan and Master’s Maul probably) for all the trash pulls in between bosses. Sorc also has some very nice shields and CCs in its toolkit that you could play around with.
So, I'm interested in using this build but I just don't thematically like using pets. How viable is it without them and what could I use in place of them?
Depends what kind of content you're doing. You CAN play without pets but it's a major damage loss, so if you like to do DLC dungeon hard modes and stuff like that, I'd keep the pets. You'll get used to them. But if you're doing chill stuff then it really doesn't matter - double bow stamsorc is very fun and quite effective.
Personal preference I suppose, as well as the type of fight. The Scamp deals AOE damage whereas the Twilight Tormentor is single target. It’s quite a DPS loss either way, so make sure you really need those other abilities (which is rare - only for portals).
It doesn’t really matter - the differences are so small. For properly organised trial groups where you don’t need extra crit or sustain, Dunmer is best for Stamina. Khajiit is a very close second (and better if you DO need those stats).

Hey there! It's a very personal choice, but for me Stamina Sorcerer is way more fun. But Arcanist is more in demand right now because it's new and very strong, but that may change. Also some people get tired of just pressing one skill all the time. I'd recommend trying them both and committing yourself to the one you enjoy most. The good news is that you can't really go wrong. With account-wide achievements you don't need to commit to a 'main' character anymore. Good luck!

i hate it that Sorcerers only get top dps with pets. A Sorc should have more dmg-spells to be autentic. But all high dps builds working only with pets and weaponskills. No real sorcerys. Thats sad.
Morph Daedric Prey to Haunting Curse, move Trap to the front and use Stampede, Hurricane, Carve and Scalding Rune as your back bar DOTs. You can then slot Camouflaged Hunter on the front bar or use Mages’ Wrath for short executes. It’s a big DPS loss though - not recommended.

Sure! Just get rid of the Kilt, slot Backstabber and Fighting Finesse in the blue CP tree (instead of Wrathful Strikes and Exploiter) to make up for the crit damage you’re missing. Then equip Maw of the Infernal on the head and shoulders. You can get that from Banished Cells 2 and it’s crazy strong on a Sorcerer.
Depends what you need. It's nice to have flex spots for different fights. I'd probably put Hurricane AND Carve on the back bar, and just have Camouflaged Hunter on the front.

Ansuul is pretty weak unless you're interrupting regularly. I would rather use Whorl as a front bar set and move Pillar of Nirn to the body. But Relequen is super easy to get and it works almost anywhere - Cloudrest is also some of the best group content ever made for this game, so go enjoy it!
Technically Dunmer, with Khajiit, Orc and Altmer also in the running. But race really doesn't matter all that much unless you're aiming to be in the top 0.001% of DDs.
Any trial set with Minor Slayer I suppose. Whorl of the Depths if you use it on weapons & jewellery and move Pillar of Nirn to the body. Otherwise use a Medium trial set like Riptide, Ansuul, Yandir, Lokkestiiz.
Yeah, Arcanist is still stupidly strong. It's different though - the burst and cleave is totally insane, but it doesn't have the consistent single target pressure that Stamsorc has. So you'll struggle to beat 130k on the dummy with an Arcanist, but the gap in most content should be small. Hope that makes sense!
@@Bekfst Well, I have Major Savagery from my Weapon Power potions, which is equivalent to Major Prophecy. But yeah, no Major Berserk here, since there's no one around to take the Atronach synergy.
If you took your grandma who's never played games before and asked her to do this rotation she'd be absolutely dumbfounded with a 12 button rotation that also has situational changes. Awesome vid awesome build and well done. But that is NOT an easy build. Heavy atk specs using left click and nothing else ..that's a easy rotation this even to me is too complicated bet she could click one button on repeat though
It’s all relative. The grandma example applies to any videogame with dynamic movement and combat. So I’m not too bothered about that. But in ESO this genuinely is one of the easier rotations around, and the damage is fantastic. I understand where you’re coming from - it takes practice to do this - but it’s not as hard as you might think. Other players are telling me they’re hitting 115k DPS on their first attempt with this rotation, having never played Sorcerer before.
this isnt a complete guide my guy... you say nothing of mundas stones, skill passives, like would be better to follow the build if it showed everything

Good question. Not a lot I expect - maybe 2-3k on the dummy. But like I say in the video, in short fights Hurricane is probably better!

Yes @@timo09125, in situations where I can use Fiery Rage I usually run Acuity alongside Balorgh and an Elf Bane Inferno back bar. Great for burst!

I don't know how much DPS you'd lose, but yeah it would still work. You should still be able to get 125k with that.

The Combat Metrics addon. If you type /cmx or assign a shortcut key to it, the window appears with your fight stats. Incredible useful tool.

how do you have 39k stamina. it's impossible to have. I am doing same things on pts, i have 29k stamina.
It is most definitely possible. Check food, race, dummy buffs, glyphs etc.

Just regular Weapon Power potions. I never use Heroism potions unless my group is pushing score.

Yeah this setup is only one patch old, and practically nothing has changed. Substitute Pillar of Nirn for Aegis Caller for *slightly* more DPS.

I'll try to make maximum dps using crystal weapons (I really don't like the animation of spamming the dual wield skill))
I tested with Crystal Weapon and it’s fine, but the rotation is bonkers and the damage is lower.
Any other sets than rele coral? Annsuls maybe?
Ansuul is pretty weak unless you're interrupting regularly. I would rather use Whorl as a front bar set and move Pillar of Nirn to the body. But Relequen is super easy to get and it works almost anywhere - Cloudrest is also some of the best group content ever made for this game, so go enjoy it!
Best Race for this build?
Technically Dunmer, with Khajiit, Orc and Altmer also in the running. But race really doesn't matter all that much unless you're aiming to be in the top 0.001% of DDs.
Alternative Suggestion for relquen?
Any trial set with Minor Slayer I suppose. Whorl of the Depths if you use it on weapons & jewellery and move Pillar of Nirn to the body. Otherwise use a Medium trial set like Riptide, Ansuul, Yandir, Lokkestiiz.

Can Stamina Arcanist compare damage wise?
Yeah, Arcanist is still stupidly strong. It's different though - the burst and cleave is totally insane, but it doesn't have the consistent single target pressure that Stamsorc has. So you'll struggle to beat 130k on the dummy with an Arcanist, but the gap in most content should be small. Hope that makes sense!

@@Bekfst Well, I have Major Savagery from my Weapon Power potions, which is equivalent to Major Prophecy. But yeah, no Major Berserk here, since there's no one around to take the Atronach synergy.

That’s a Dunmer, but Orc is also one of the top choices for damage.

If you took your grandma who's never played games before and asked her to do this rotation she'd be absolutely dumbfounded with a 12 button rotation that also has situational changes. Awesome vid awesome build and well done. But that is NOT an easy build. Heavy atk specs using left click and nothing else ..that's a easy rotation this even to me is too complicated bet she could click one button on repeat though
It’s all relative. The grandma example applies to any videogame with dynamic movement and combat. So I’m not too bothered about that. But in ESO this genuinely is one of the easier rotations around, and the damage is fantastic. I understand where you’re coming from - it takes practice to do this - but it’s not as hard as you might think. Other players are telling me they’re hitting 115k DPS on their first attempt with this rotation, having never played Sorcerer before.
this isnt a complete guide my guy... you say nothing of mundas stones, skill passives, like would be better to follow the build if it showed everything
