    I'm not sure, but I think the clicking noise is because of the pump may have some air bubbles trapped in there. Mounting the radiator higher than the pump should fix it a little bit.

      @@Acraft8 You can get cheap GPU metal bracket or support that has a magnetic base and has two adjustable clamps. Look up "glotrends Graphics Card GPU Brace Support Video Card Sag Holder/Holster Bracket for Computer Cases, Universal VGA Graphics Card Holder,Anodized Aerospace Aluminum (Black) ". That's what I used )cost £12.99 at time of purchase) for a relative's build and the magnetic base is stupidly strong. I put it in where the hdd cage would be as it as Cit F3 case (extremely cheap and budget case bought for about £20 off ebay and came with two fans). Since the case was ridiculously light when empty I shook it extremely hard holding around waist level and the base never came loose.

    3:39 raising the radiator at a higher level than GPU, it may help in removing that noise (not sure but it can cause air trapped to move out if the pump is present on the GPU side). It should be set before turning the pump on.

      I have the 6800 XT ROG Strix LC version mounted vertically, mine doesn't make any noise and I run my computer next to me without the glass panel on usually, it's very quiet. I installed that Asus Armory Crate RGB software and it ruined the RGB in my system. It made my G. Skill Trident Z RGB strobe like crazy when installing and it also shut the RGB off on my card and couldn't control it via software.
      The worst part is that this GPU wasn't supported by Asus's software as of 2 weeks ago so I uninstalled it. Otherwise the card is a total beast.

    Worked in steel industry for decades. The film comes pre-applied or is applied when the coil is slit or cut to length at the service center. It's there to protect surface while the material goes through the remaining processes such as punching or folding or plasma/laser/water cutting, etc. It saves many tons of product for the cost of a little plastic. It has absolutely nothing to do with the vendor. Critical part of the chain that will never go away.

    Hey, since this is an AMD card, I'd suggest you to use AMD Memory Tweak XL for the overclocking. When I had my Vega 64, I had the same problems of not being able to undervolt while overclocking in MSI afterburner or similar software but I tried Memory Tweak XL and it worked flawlessly. It has frequency selection based on power states and each power state can be assigned a certain voltage. Also, instead of forcing a certain frequency at a certain voltage, it just sets the maximum limit to the frequency at that voltage so the card boosts according to the voltage. Sorry if my words are a little hard to understand, but I hope Memory Tweak XL works

    I have the 6800 XT Rog Strix LC and it's great in temps and noise. Highest I've been able to get it to clock is 2.7Ghz 100% stable. It always maintains low 50's Celcius. Love the look too, it was made to be mounted vertically.

    • @wulfyenstein
      @wulfyenstein 3 года назад +2

      Have one to;) it's very nice oc straight to 2.7 ghz no problem daily use. The only problem i have with it is the same as in the vid. Rgb lights start once when i remove cpu or reset bios after that lights off;) never to be see again... I'm not a big fan of rgb but still will be nice to be able to turn it on for special occasions.

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare 3 года назад +1

      @@wulfyenstein Yeah 2.7Ghz and maxed memory 2150Mhz no problem. 2.8Ghz is a crash. I can get it to 2.76Ghz too but it's not 100% stable. 2.7 is more than plenty and I don't daily use it like that. I have a few profiles set and end up using Radeon Chill in certain games like Baldur's Gate 3 for example.
      The RGB experience with me was that Asus's Armory Crate software is utter garbage imo. I installed it and it shut off the RGB in the card, it messed up all my RGB settings in my PC including ruining my G.Skill Trident Z RGB where it started to strobe extremely fast and doesn't work properly now (the RGB).
      Come to find out that this GPU isn't or wasn't supported by Asus's own RGB software. It wouldn't recognize it and wasn't in supported GPU list, yet. I uninstalled it but some of the bloatware remained behind which was still messing with my RGB. I had to download an uninstaller from Asus to remove everything. Absolutely ridiculous Asus, wth.
      Why does it need to be so complicated. I had a Sapphire Nitro+ 5700 XT before this GPU and the software was amazing. It controlled the GPU RGB, had some overclocking and upscaling features and that's it. I don't want to install Asus's whole suite of resource hogging software. Give me something to control my RGB for the product I bought. Anyway this is the only thing I despise about this GPU, it's Asus's own RGB software which will ruin your experience because your other components aren't made by them. Apparently Asus wants you to upgrade all your components to their brand or else. No thanks.
      Even their own GPU Tweak software used in this video to tune the card is lacking at best. Just use the AMD Radeon Software, you can do all your tuning from there much easier.
      Sorry for the rant lol but stuff like this annoys me because this is an amazing GPU that is ruined by this stuff. The RGB is currently on the rainbow wave pattern and that's good enough.

    Reason why its making that noise from the pump its because the cables are, meant to be going down and the radiator should be mounted up, so the water flows down the cable not straight across where its struggling. Not a big fan of how it would look with those cables hanging especially if you have a liquid CPU cooler as well, then you will have cables every where and the build will look messy.

      I can't be the only one who thought it was odd that, as soon as the RTX 3000-series dropped, there was LOADS of content on them, lots of builds - and, when the RX 6000-series dropped, we've just seen a slow trickle of occasional 6000-series content. REALLY frustrating as I don't care about RT/DLSS(just don't play any games that feature this tech, it's cool just useless for me), so more info on the 6800XT would be nice to see.
      Now, for all I know, AMD may have just gotten a fraction of the reviewer samples out that Nvidia got out there, I certainly don't know the reason, but hopefully it changes.

Nobody throws esd bags in the trash because it serves to put the card back when it is no longer in use or to sell in the used market so no waste.

    So that cracking noice is because you didn't think about where the air i going (highest point in a loop). And here is the pump.

    Honest question: are the plastic films already on the bulk materials at the factory and are the manufacturers just _not_ removing them? There are a lot of sheet goods - acrylic sheets, aluminum panels, stainless steel rolls, etc. that have plastic separators that are just left on for subsequent steps like punch pressing, bending, waterjet cutting, etc.
