The video came out good! Glad to see 2 of my clips in there. The only thing I just want to point out though. The MBBs that were leased to CT Rail were not painted. They were given a wrap that would go over the original MBTA paint. If you lookup some photos I’m sure you can find at least one with the wrap pealing off the sides
Yes! Almost every day atleast 1 train goes under it. The MBTA owns the tracks and uses them to transfer equipment 6x per week. Amtrak also uses it to transfer equipment to their Downeaster service
Thank you, this does my old heart good. 40+ years ago, i was supporting a DOT Kendall (now Volpe) Economist who was trying to optimally allocate the scarce resource of the original Atrak Geometry car. The limited color gamuts of early Color Xerox copiers and CalComp plotters didn't mesh nicely when producing our Amtrak Atlas! Seeing MBTA using a Geometry car several times a year is delightfully non-scarce. ❤ (Wish i had a copy of that dataset ...)
good to know I'm not going crazy because I stumbled upon the Geometry Train as I was working my last two weeks at my old job in Boston, I was walking by Track 4 at Readville on my way to the Providence Line on Track 3 and saw this weird consist of MBTA, Amtrak and CTrail cars going through the station and thought it was an oddball set of cars. Now I understand why it exists.
That 4 car consist to make track speed is a Keolis/MBTA rule for their trains only. All foreign lines operating on MBTA track is to run by their equipment handling rules.
each time i see the CTRAIL cars in mass all i think about is them going on the housatonic even though it will never happen, even just from pittsfield to Canaan. if that did happen the entire mass section would be full of railfanns catching this extremely rare move/fan ride.
Wow, that is something special. Won't it have to go back to the south side? If so do you know if it went back already or if it sill is yet to and maybe when? Amazing video as always!
I gotta hand it to you man, when I go on a chase, I'm lucky to make it through the intersections alive either in a car or on a bike. It's not a fail if ya see something and live to tell the tale (with your proof obv) lol
Grand Junction Geometry Train chase GONE WRONG

The engineers had to be on high foamer watch with that consist!
Great video, and great editing.
Thanks for your vids..Nice to see somebody cover our area! You should do a Cape Flyer Trip before the season ends!
I like your videos, I know nothing about the rails , but you explain it all. Great narration, thanks.
I got this train that week as well! Thanks for posting around the South Side! I really have inspiration for your videos! Thanks Nate!
I go back to the Boston & Maine days taking the train from Gloucester to the Boston Garden as a kid to watch Bruins & Celtic games. Great video!
You have great footage, keep up the great videos and posts!
Good effort as usual on that Grand Junction chase.
Very interesting & inspiring to show we've come a long way towards modernizing the T's Commuter Rail fleet, respectively. Beth
❤ love your video keep up the good work double thumbs up a job well done😊
Another great video. Thank you. Yes with the MBTA you just never know.
At 7:26 , do trains normally pass under this office building? Or was it for just this exercise? That’d be crazy if it did.
Yes but not MBTA as far as I know. That building is part of the MIT campus
Equipment moves only, not in revenue service. It’s on the Grand Junction line.

What a great horn on that cab car
These shots are incredible. 🔥🔥🔥
Goodbye CTC-1B thank you for making many young railfanners such as me. Become a railfanner. See you in train heaven 😔✊
I think 1647 will only run on GEO extras
It is on the South Coast Rail Test train with 1135

I too saw it passing by it was so cool!
Awesome stuff! I have a grand junction video from years ago on my channel. My how it's changed around there
Bro your intro is sick
Thanks!!
Wait, didn’t you told us about the mbta and Amtrak cars together in the other video?
Crazy!!

Fun fact: 1647 was testing on the Middleboro Wye last week, so I think it's gonna stay on the property as a testing car!
Yes indeed…lets just say keolis is up to some fun stuff….
1647 was also seen on the Fairmount line doing a singular NB run
14:33 a friendly greeting :)
Wow this guys really knows his trains 🤯
How does one find out when this type of thing happens? I live very near the Grand Junction and it would be neat to see a train like this at work.
uploading on a monday! very unusual
This was epic
For some reason 1647 ran revenue service monday morning on the South
On my local line we don’t get ctrail, we are too close to Boston :(
I think the only people in mass to get CTrail are people who live in Springfield.
I really hope the refurbish most if not all their single level fleet and convert them to bike cars to include on all trains
Is the corridor clipper a Ex Metroliner cab,car
dind know the BU RR bridge was still active !
used pretty much daily for equipment moves.
Ho lee. The decaying infrastructure everywhere lol
I saw the geo train too
where can i see this geo train
It’s not running anymore but you can catch 1647 testing on the cape
🚆🚆🚆🚆🚆🚆🚆🚆
That is a lot of horn tootin'.
I saw this train on the GJ (Medford St) and at Wilmington
we were very confused when we heard it was going via Cove and not just reversing at 3.3
