@tacoalf My Mom is saying, "What do u want" and "Oh.... I got it. Like Poppy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We watched last night. At least 3 xs a week it's Poppy time. We seriously known what she'll say before she says it!
Wow he talks so clear! A very long time ago I found a African grey I was cleaning a apartment he was hanging on a screen with a cat stalking him screaming up a storm, At the time I had no clue what kind of bird it was all I knew he was large and I remember thinking that's not a normal wild bird wtf is it! Lol I went out he came right to me and said , hi hi hi hi, I picked him up looking all around like who would leave him alone outside? I ended up taking him home and noticed one of his nose holes was all crusty and he kept saying, " time for medicine". I took him to the vet and the vet informed me of some kind of fungus in his nose hole and he was probably on a med for the problem they was nice enough to check him for free and loan me a big cage until I could try to find the owner even though I wanted to keep him I knew someone is looking for their baby missing. I put a add in the paper and must of got 200 different calls with people claiming it's theirs giving his fake name but the one question I would ask was, Tell me something about him? They would go on to say he's grey🤔. YEAH duh! One day about a month later a woman and man calls I'm thinking here we go again by this time I'm falling in love with him I was super scared in the beginning he would bit me ear off or finger he didn't like being in the cage and I was scared the first week to let him out but he would whistle and call me pretty baby I broke down and would let him out all day he never pooed on anything he was so smart only pooed on the cage bottom, So yeah this coupled called the first thing they said is his name is ziko and some one had went in their back yard and stold 3 of their African greys they had a large outdoor cage and would let the bird's out in it a few hours a day some one broke the lock opened the cage took three birds two they got back but her baby ziko had been missing a month and they put out a five hundred dollar reward she said she's had him since he's a baby and he's sick and needs meds for his beak, I knew it was her bird none had told me about his beak having the fungus. I told he yes it's him and he is fine I took him to the vet and still have him on treatment. When she walked through my door that bird went crazy screaming went right to her I knew it was her baby. She offered me the reward I refused she later had called the vet i went to found out what I spent on food and his medication and sent me a check along with her address to visit him if I wanted. Till today that lady is my best friend that was 24 years ago and she still has bird's, ziko died about 14 year later the issues with his nose hole would always come back. Well that's my bird story sorry if it's a long post but 💯% the truth 😁
I talk to her constantly, tell her what I am doing or going to do. Now she tells me what Im about to do before I do it like "take a shower" "gotta get dressed" "have to go outside", etc. HAHA I really cant teach her anything. She decides.
Awesome Grey she is! One of the best I've seen. I also have to keep my Grey posted on everything I do and will be doing. If not, he will ignore me for an hour or 2. The more you converse with them, the more they understand our language. What country are you from?
That has to be the healthiest Grey I have ever seen on RUclips. The way the dust flew when the wings flapped was amazing. Your bird picked a good human. Thanks for the video.
Poppy was hand raised locally in Massachusetts by an experienced and well known breeder. Poppy's mother was an exceptional talking bird so Poppy inherited her abilities.
She is a very clever bird. And her voice - it sounds so beautiful. She knows exactly what different words mean and she have a huge number of them 🥰. It's amazing 🤗.
My great-grandmother's parrot was definitely a joy to be around, from all the stories I've heard. Very interactive, creative, and playful. I wish I could have interacted with it, but it passed long before I was born.
Our African grey loves to watch this video of Poppy, we play it for her and she comes out of the cage and starts watching the video! She will start singing and whistling it's great.. thanks for posting this. Keep them coming.
That makes me very happy to hear how much your bird likes watching Poppy. Thanks for letting me know! There are quite a few other more recent videos already posted. Take a look at those - new words!
Don’t understand the thumbs down! Such an amazing creature with a talent for vocalizing few others exhibit. I would be willing to bet that Poppy knows the exact meaning behind every phrase he mimics. If you listen, he strings subjects together almost conversationally.
I’m gonna be honest and let you know that I’ve seen this video probably 20 times now. Poppy talking somehow makes me feel relaxed and happy every time I watch this. Thank you for sharing your adorable bird with us here on RUclips!
I'm so glad that Poppy's videos give you joy. She has a very large following and I often hear similar comments. People watch her videos over and over and so do I and I'm her owner!
She is quite funny and says the craziest things. How about after she poops she says "look at the floor". Be sure to watch her other videos for more funny things.
Thats just too darn cute! I have run across this doing research on Congo verse Timnehs. He reminds me of my Quaker Lewey who randomly jabbers and sings along all day.. lol They are super smart.. i'm in love.. I have just purchased a cage for a african Grey but i am patiently going to wait on a hand fed weaned baby.. Just getting prepared..
I'm getting a female CAG and I'm getting really excited because its getting close to when we can bring her home. We've built her a large play gym and has toys galore. Love your video!
Thats awesome ! my African Grey..she talks. Some things are really clear, some things are muttered..of course screw you comes out loud and clear and be right back, come here, wanna cup of coffee. Our st bernard is name is Jack, but she calls him poop and tells him to lay down all the time LOL she also says pretty girl, makes all the whistles and noises. Harlee is 9 almost 10 .I also have a blue and gold named Feebee.!
Glad you like the video. Poppy is the funniest and smartest bird I have ever known. I give her an almond and when she is finished she says "want more". Sometimes she will say "want a grape" and she can recognize certain foods like apples, peppers, carrots, and celery and calls it out when she sees them! If I ask her "what does the dog say" she will answer "RRUFF, RRUFF"!
Oh my goodness, Poppy is so adorable! My great grandmother had a green parrot (I'm not sure what kind) and Polly could answer the phone in my great-grandmother's voice, and did! Then she'd hang up, so she got my great grandmother in trouble more than once! I've heard such stories...
Why thank you! I was told when I bought Poppy that her mother was an incredible talker so Poppy inherited the talking gene. I was told I might be sorry. Well, sometimes I cant hear the TV! The parrot in the background is a Hawkhead; you can see his bath video on my channel. When Poppy has some new things to say I will certainly add new videos. Check out the others already posted

Our African Grey female bird named Bella (named from Twilight Saga) talks away every day. She even has her little daily routine speeches practicing her vocabularies, from singing to sound effects! She'll mimic ANYTHING she hears! lol ^^ And when we first bought her while at the owner's place she was already making those water drop sounds, and she was only 10 weeks old when we got her! And she LOVES her head scratched. She'd put her head down for us to pet her. She's such a sweetheart. :)
We had a grey at the shelter I worked. One day he needed to see the vet and the wife of the manager wanted to grab him with a towel. The parrot suddenly started to yell 'HELP DOCTOR, SHE"S KILLING ME!' Pissed my pants there , lol. We had several Parrots but this one was really hilarious. It also often said 'Eric, it's dinner time!'
Our African Gray, could have been this one's twin. responded to anyone in our family who gave him attention. For my dad he Elmer, would do anything lie down, roll over, kiss, dance, almost laugh. I met a family at the mall they had their Cockatiel with them, they told me they take him, Chico, wherever they go. Chico was so friendly, climbed right onto my finger. I never knew anyone who took their bird wherever they went. It was fun and Chico seemed as happy as can be. Wings clipped of course.
