I loved Gabor's enthusiasm for the versatility of this effects pedal - very cute. Great that you're taking the time to teach people how to get the most out of what is a considerable investment! Keep up the great work!
Great video, guys! Only part one, and I've already learned more about this pedal than I had in any other demo. Tons of features, but none seem like overkill...they all seem to make sense.
Thank you very much! I usually look for presets I like and then tweak them a little to suit what I do…I’m really not big on going into too much detail with delays…I usually have one that kinda subtle, one that’s more upfront, maybe a slap back echo and then maybe one that’s kinda a bit quirky for when you want to make a statement with it…
Thanks for the video! I’m not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but I’m running stereo out of the mkii into my HX stomp, but still not getting the stereo image of any of the stereo delays (crisscross, dual delay, etc.) everything comes thru as mono. Anyone have any thoughts for this?
@@TSFAHTPS man thank you for the quick response! That was it. I used stereo send/return and I’ve got it now. Only thing is that the return is clipping BAD lol. Did you run into that?
I'm curious about the chance to connect both expression pedal and single footswitch through a TRS splitter cable. I'm using an EHX expression pedal (TRS) with my dl4 mkii and I wonder if it will still work with the splitter. Can't seem to find any info around about this setup...
I'm interested how that mic pre sounds. This single pedal could be great for a player who wishes their amp had an effects loop. Just stick a mic in front of the amp, feed the DL4 mk.II, and send it to FOH or tape. You could engage kill dry, and blend it with a "dry" mic with a mixer, or just use the mix control on the DL4. This could make a stellar wet/dry/wet signal for FOH even.
We are already planning on doing that in an upcoming video - that’s how a lot of studio musicians used to add Delay and reverb to their sound back in the days…I’m pretty sure Larry Carlton still does it like that when he plays live
@@TSFAHTPS Cool. Seems like a very lightweight method to achieve that sort of rig. All you need is the mic, cables and a DI for live performance. Looking forward to hearing it.
@@MaTTheWish that's how old heads did it with their rigs for a long time. Some guys still do it that way instead of using an effects loop in the amp. Think about it. You're adding echo to the final tone instead of after the preamp. Go see John Shanks rig rundown for ideas.
I have the original dl4. I can only get a dotted eight in one position, rhythmic, tapping 1-4 tempos. . MK2 it’s easier to get a dotted eight in all delays types?
Well Holly guacamole this thing is immense where do you start 🫣 so much to dial in if you can’t find the right delay / reverb sound on this thing your never going to.
i have a major problem with this pedal. once you assign an expression pedal to a parameter(s), if you want to adjust, eg, delay time or any other knob: that change will bet added to the position of the exp ped. try this: Classic Looper preset > assign an exp ped to control loop playback volume (Mix; see manual). the Classi Looper has (see manual) built-in delay or reverb by use of the knobs (see manual). now you’re playing live > with your loop > reach down to make an n the fly adjustment to delay time > now you can hear the time changing when you use the exp. to fix this: there must be a button to hold when making exp ped assignment so that they are locked in !!!! any changes to the knobs will be assigned to your exp !!! NOOOOOOO. try that. it will do the same on ANY PRESET. yes, presets can save your exp ped assignment BUT if you turn ANY knob or accidentally move ANY KNOB, it will get assigned to your exp ped. this makes the pedal of my lifetime … BAD really BAD. exp peds is for dynamic control, not set and go. get it?

Hehe…thank you Tim! I do get quite enthusiastic about some of this stuff!!
This is the most comprehensive review of the DL4 Mk2!
Thanks!
Just got one of these pedals and this was so helpful. Had no idea what some of the instructions meant.
Fair price now features have been explained!.. Great video chaps!🎸
Thank you…yeah I think this pedal is really good…I am a fanboy though!!
Lots of great info here thank you for going over everything I would have gotten frustrated just readying lol😅
Absolutely fantastic video 🎉

Oh and…thank you Randy!!
Love your videos. I would like to see how you do the external footswitch to toggle the looper so to loop the reverb sound. Looper+Reverb. Thanks
I want to see the midi functions of this pedal!!!
thumbs up before the review even started.......
Haha…thank you!!
You guys are amazing! Much appreciated🙌🤘🙌
Thank you very much!!
Hey hey.... Gabor and Alex!!
Hey Laz…hope you’re well mate!!
My favourite pedal reviewers.. please do the Walrus Audio Lore soon.🙏
I’ve been trying to get in touch with Walrus Audio for ages…they don’t seem to be interested in working with us…but I’ll try again!
And thank you!!

@@TSFAHTPS thanks
I prefer to have 4- 5 types of delay, like for some rhythm and some for solos plus some special effects intro or endings
Please, do the video about dl4 midi functions
It would be nice to see a tutorial about everything just about the secret reverb. No delays, just the secret reverb of the Line 6 DL4 MK2
They are the same as the reverbs on the Helix or HX Stomp
Please do one explaining the midi functionality, im having a difficult time with this!
