I can't believe they come out with a MK2 I've used the MK1 FOREVER out the point that once touring with Vanilla Sky we had to buy the rack model to program and automate the whole show just because I loved the way it sounded! The song Nightmare where we featured Mark Hoppus from Blink, had on my guitar the original MK1 pedalboard unit on the intro clean guitar... Stoked!
Mine was modded by Robert Keeley. It was an early run I bought back in 2012. The Keeley mod was designed to address some issues that came with the early runs. One being the drop in volume users experienced when they used it. And the clunky foot switches were replaced with better quality "quiet touch" switches. A few other things were addressed as well, but don't remember exactly. Robert Keeley only did the mods for a short amount of time.
Alot of the newer delay sounds are stereo effects or you need to tweak the modulation to even tell the difference plus you didn't try out the hidden reverb algorithms
I have one of these and absolutely love it. It is a simple device that has gobs of sounds in it. All the modern and legacy delays with the hidden chorus menu make it a pedal board monster. All the delay pedal the average person needs.
I've got an og dl-4. Grabbed it for the loop function, which had a 14-second max loop. I'm positive that later models had more loop time. Just bought a 10min ammoon looper for $25 cad, lol. Kinda excited for the dl-4 mkII, just wish I still had the staff discount that I used to buy the first one.
@@nevercanyoucant depends. Something expensive (especially Gibson), there’s not much markup, but if it’s something cheap like Hosa, markup could be two or three times cost.

Did you update the firmware? It resolved a lot of issues for me. I noticed it adding some nasty sound dirt, almost like a bit crushing sound onto my clean tones: Sounds a lot more clear after the update. I was also having clipping issues with my loop repeats. Each loop playthrough would get louder until my speakers sounded like they were going to blow. After the update the looper no longer clips.
Ahhhh, all the delays I've love to see in the QC some day. Crazy how much time you can lose when fiddling around with the delays in Helix Native, so much fun!
Line 6 gets a bad rap but I’ve never had an issue with any of their gear. My dad found my old POD laying around a few weeks ago and I’ve had a blast rediscovering it.
I had an OG DL4 that was amazing for years, but the buttons are sticky sometimes and occasionally switch over to another switch. I found this same issue to be prevalent on the M13 by line6, so I’m guessing it’s their buttons entirely. I would love to get my hands on another one
Make sure to do a firmware update or if your pedal comes with the v1 firmware your speeds wont save on your presets. Also, order from sweetwater or someone with a good warranty. I got mine Dl4 in November, used it for three gigs, and the entire footswitch bank quite working. I just got my replacement so well see. Its a great sounding pedal and feels solid. Im sure I just got a lemon.
For anyone playing a guitar that this thing it might be an upgrade. It is nothing like the previous model though. Line six failed to provide the same super sick warbled trancey feedback when in loop mode as the original. Also... I love that the original takes batteries. I bring it in the woods with me all the time with my battery powered Bose. It's a shame the original is discontinued. I've already snatched up like 3 on ebay to keep as backups.
I really liked the battery option on the original since the adapter was a bitch to find sometimes and getting another adapter to power it is damn near impossible
It’s the normal boss single pedal size pedal It’s the first digital delay they made in the normal small size unit Eric Johnson uses one and it’s good , it’s a warm sounding digital delay ., the regular size boss delays are all a little or a lot different . They just released the DL8 so it goes from the DL2 to the DL8
Did you return the pedal to them after you made the video? If not then the free pedal is the sponsor payment. I wish pedal reviewers would stop pretending otherwise.

A quick note for your recent videos - the gate on your mic is sadly way to aggressive, and is not very pleasant to listen to, which is making it difficult for me to finish your videos. It's very present on this video, since there is no background music. Can also be fixed with room tone (preferably) or a less aggressive release time on your gate . Sorry for pointing it out. Thx for the awesome videos!

Used the mk1 for years and years. Was a tank. Upgraded cause tc had way more options. Now I wish I had waited a little longer cause mk2

I have 2 DL4s and a DL4mkii. I feel like i could bend time if i did it right.
I owned the first-generation DL4, and to be honest, I regret selling it. One of the best-sounding and most versatile Delay pedals ever made.
As soon as you hit Glitch it made me miss MTB. This new DL4 is a good reason for them to get back together.

Euclidean mode is my favorite in the mk2. Remember to Tweak and Tweez that thing!

Waiting for a verbzilla mk II my number one reverb since 2006. Would love to see the dynamic hall in it also.

The dl4 mk1 and its self destructing internal power regulation and line 6 ignoring thousands of bad units was a big turn off for me.
