The big difference between series is that they didn't know how many seasons they would get, so over all arch of Last Airbender wasn't possible. Nick also did them dirty over the series, doing things like yanking the show for a long period and putting the show on their website first. I think the creators have said they wanted to do this so that the movie wouldn't be the last word on the Avatar series.
Explanation: normally, an avatar travels the world learning the different kinds of bending. This part of their training is crucial, because that's when they learn about the world and all the different cultures and political systems in it. Even though Aang's training in the other elements was severely pressed for time, he still traveled the world and learned about the world while doing it. Korra was raised on armed compounds where the different bending teachers came to her. The only people she knew growing up were guards and teachers, so she does not understand very much about how the world works, socially or politically or, well, in any other sense. This puts her at a crucial disadvantage as an avatar right out of the starting gate. You will get hints about why she was raised on those armed compounds and isolated from the world in drips throughout the series, but the big answers don't come until season 3.
@@GeneralLocooo The point of a comment section is to literally debate things pertinent to the video. You're the one who needs to leave since you obviously don't understand how YT works.
Don't listen to the nay-sayers. The more times I watch this, the better this series gets. The one downside is what the executives did to the people making the show. Basically, the creators thought every season was going to be the last, so every season is a self-contained plot arc instead of having one grand plot stretching across all seasons like the original had. What they lack in series-wide story arcs, they make up for in epic character development, and much more adult themes (e.g. season 4 is about fascism). Season three has one of the greatest villains ever. Not best in the franchise, best villain period. Instead of getting an actor to play the villain, they cast a very political punk vocalist named Henry Rollins, which turned out to be a genius casting choice. Buckle up for a wild ride.
@ThePreator 11 If I recall correctly there was a writer's strike during the production of Season 2, and Nickelodeon got a bunch of unskilled/in training writers to complete the script (instead of waiting for the strike to be over, for ex).
