Learn How to Build Basement Walls with this Step-by-Step DIY Wall Framing Guide. Additionally, you will learn how to Frame basement walls around basement headers and columns. Learning how to frame a 16" on center (O.C.) or 24" O.C. wall is not very difficult if you have the right tools and knowledge. Below are the tools I highly recommend for Building Basement Walls:
    - Framing Nailer: amzn.to/46gVoLo
    - Air Compressor (for framing nailer): amzn.to/3LysDCe
    - Framing Nails: amzn.to/3EMMIAC
    - 6 foot level: amzn.to/3PORDYb
    - Carbide Tipped Masonry Bit: amzn.to/460vcFi
    - Tapcon Screws: amzn.to/45bgLgs
    - Ramset Nailer (if desired instead of screws): amzn.to/45iZbHr
    - Drill: amzn.to/47pEw6H
When adding a bathroom to a basement, a successful project starts with planning. It is very important to plan out the locations for all of the plumbing fixtures, and WALLS.
A basement wall consists of a top plate, a bottom plate, and the vertical studs in between. I recommend that you first mark the stud spacing (16" O.C.) on both the top and bottom plate. Next, position the studs in between the bottom plate and top plate and nail the wall together. I recommend two nails (3" or 3.5") at each connection point between the studs and the top and bottom plate.
After framing the wall, lift it up vertically and position it in place in the installation location. Next, attach the bottom plate to the concrete basement slab using a carbide tipped masonry bit to pre-drill and Tapcon Screws to hold it in place (A Ramset tool is also suitable for attaching the bottom plate to the concrete slab). Then confirm that the wall is plumb using a 6' level and then nail the top plate to the ceiling joists above.

Can you go in detail with how you found the pipes for the plumbing and how/why you roughed in the concrete?

This has been helpful. The one thing that I can’t find an answer for in anyone’s video is: how do you continue calculating 16 on center around a corner? Or does the 16 on center calculation start again for each wall?

Hi! Yes - basically just start over on the next wall. The whole purpose of 16" OC spacing is that it will give you a backing for your drywall etc. since they come in 4' / 8' sheets. If you are spaced every 16", you ensure that your drywall seams are centered on the stud so that you can screw them in. I hope that helps!

@@AndrewThronImprovements I’ve seen people talk about one specific corner being where everything is calculated from. If you start new each wall then how does that work?

For someone new to DIY, you certainly used some technical terms - not sure if they are USA terms, e.g. What do you mean by 'crowning' and 'ripping' and 'toe-nailing' ??? Otherwise, good video. Love from Scotland, ❤X ...
