Really great, super helpful video. What about accounting functions and value exchange / value capture / store of wealth / currency ? Perhaps could come under technology?
I think a functional view (with accounting as an example) is orthogonal to the one I present. It will call upon: process, structure, people, governance, knowledge, and technology - maybe others too.
@@ManagementCourses Okay. I was working from your initial question "what does an organization need to have in order to work?" and the idea that you were classifying them as features of organizations. In that sense, the product must be included because if an organization is to work there has to be a thing they actually do.Right? I'm new to this field of study and find your videos an exceptional supplement to my MPA courses. Thank you, so much for doing this series.
@@kathydrum3311 Aha! You were thinking of output measures and I was thinking of input measures. Enjoy your course. I hope you'll find others of my videos to be helpful.
In this video I list 11 things an organization needs, to work effectively and efficiently. Why 11 features? That's how many I could think of!

@@ManagementCourses ah yes, I see your point, thanks for replying.
@@nickjerrat My pleasure.
Was thinking further, what about innovation capability, meaning capability to develop new competitive advantage?
I like that suggestion a lot. Thank you.
@@ManagementCourses awesome =)
That would fall under strategy
What about the products, services or outcomes themselves?
I don't understand your question. An organization creates products, services, and outcomes. This video is about what it needs, to do so.
