I have a Croatian background. I'm a heavy investor in Mexico which is also super corrupt- but it works super well for us as developers. I left Canada behind forever 4 years ago. Maybe Croatia should be next for investment for me. I love it there.

The corruption means they don't steal money from property owners? I have a load of money I want to spend in a worthy jurisdiction. Where do I sign?

Hi Marko! Sweden is even better in that regard. They are one the most dense billionairecountries in the world and a tax haven for wealthy people as well. Properties (except for Stockholm) are priced at the same level as Croatia if not lower considering the depreciation of their currency and the property tax exist (0,75% of the value/year) but is limited to around 1000 EUR per year which basically means almost no tax. Moreover, the salary levels are much higher then Croatia so the risk of low turnover rate when selling the property is lower then in Croatia. And of course, similar to Croatia, Sweden exhibits a certain level of corruption when it comes to limiting taxes for the wealthy. Many politicians and influential individuals, who are both affluent and hold power, have significant sway over tax policies that could impact them.

In other words there are no drawbacks to a corrupt government.
