Red Arrows transit through Snowdonia in Wales Mach Loop heading for a display in Newquay!
You just never know how low they will transit so I was a bit high! but it was good to see.

You have got to admit that is a view of the Red Arrows few will ever see.
I remember many moons ago when the Red Arrows came across the pond and did an airshow in the States, at Andrews AFB. Really cool stuff, nice to see they do the loop too!
The loop is where our RAF fast jet pilots get their training, all of the pilots seen in the video learned their craft around there 🙂 🤝 🍻

They are finally touring the US this year and I will get to see them at the Great Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach Ca in October. Cant wait! Seen Frecce, Patrouille, Vikings, Snowbirds, and the Blues and T-Birds, and have been wanting to see the Reds for ages.

I get to watch them too when I'm working in Skellingthorpe. I think they've been practicing for the coronation this week

I don't really care what group it is or what they're flying, military formation groups are all ridiculously cool.
This says everything about the skill of our pilots.

The Red Arrows flew at Alliance in Texas one year. They took the place of (I think) the Thunderbirds, who couldn't be there. Really interesting to see a performance by a group this size.
Every 5 years or so they do a North America tour. My Dad was a RAAF Roulette back in the 80s and ended up at Cathay with a bunch of ex reds flying airliners. I've got a pic from the 80s of the Red Arrows and a Concord over Niagara falls, signed by Red #1 at the time whose kid was a class mate of mine in primary school.
Thankyou Elwyn, yet another great vid, i was with them at Bristol Airport chatting to them 2 weekends ago as they were doing both days at Weston super mare, and they mentioned then, they would use Mach loop when transiting north to a display in north wales and vis a vis for the displays down south west area of the uk, so that should, if you go on their website, give you an idea when they maybe going through Mach Loop, hope it helps and keep up the good work.

Living down the road from the air base they are stationed at I get to see them practice seen them hundreds of time and it never get boring.

This is beautiful :) Reds are so amazing. Strange though: there are 10 of them, and wikipedia says that Red Arrows are always 9 pilots and they have no spare pilots, so if one cannot fly - the don't fly.
There IS a spare plane, and another reserve pilot.... voila. 10 planes.

Will miss their show yet again in 2021 as our council cancelled it’s Airshow again this June. Hope it will return in 2022 if they have the money.

RAF is second to none.. however original? Seems they were formed in 1964 or 65..TBirds and BA are about 18 yrs. older. Like most of the European air forces,as an american, I'm glad we are on the same side..kiwis oz skorea japan and our good neighbor Canada all are second to none.. keep em flying!

That said, pretty sure on the occasions that pilots from squadrons met each other they didn't try to start pissing contests.

I was in wales this week! as it was bank holiday I went to the beach thinking no planes were flying and missed these! pretty annoyed. but good rest of the week especially yesterday herc, 2 tornadoes, 3 typhoons, 2 f-15s , 3 hawks so overall good holiday!

American pilots came over to the UK to do low flying exercises and said is it ok to fly down to 200ft and the RAF said yes that's ok but don't go any lower ,the Americans said no way we're not flying any lower than that ! But they said why not below 200ft and the RAF said because below '150 is where our guys fly ! !

I've seen them fifty feet over my house at a North Weald air show.....
You can watch with 'your own eyes',or you can watch through the viewfinder while you try to capture your perfect shot .... but you can't do both.

Love to do the Mach loop, just for the aeroplanes, but those bloody shutterbugs spoil it all, legging it about with their long lenses.
It's always fun to see a high-speed pass from above although I hope one day there won't be warplanes patrolling anywhere in the world.
