      Absolutely 💯 but remember you're probably safer up there with being a fully qualified red arrows pilot than on the road down here . We don't often hear of many casualties , last one was 4 years back
      To us the public watching this video looks terrifying to them the pilots with their experience its probably like riding a bike 🚲

    Oh my goodness. I’ve never felt patriotic before. Never. But when I saw the red arrows last Sunday at the RAF Valley show I was oozing with pride. 🇬🇧 me and my sister were so inspired by these guys we went to see them fly home and every one of them waved us off as they left the airstrip. I was waving at them and sticking my thumbs up at them and they was waving back and thumbs upping me. So friendly, so blessed and so god damn inspirational.

    In 1971 I corresponded with David Binnie, one of the Red Arrows pilots and I received lots of photographs, stickers and so on. When I became a private pilot, he was very enthusiastic about it. No matter what type of plane it is, he wrote, a Gnat or a Cessna, you are a pilot too! I visited several air force bases to see them fly. Awesome and I will never forget it. I was a shocked to hear that David Binnie passed away. A great Red Arrows pilot, also a 747 captain of Virgin. R.I.P David!

      The US Teams have tried copying various of the Red Arrows and killed pilots doing it ... Believe me ... Red Arrows are unique. They are the best - whatever you think. Red Arrows 6ft separation ... ?? Most teams stay at 5m .. that's 15ft ! Don't believe me - then check it out ...

The amount of respect they get from other display teams is unrivalled, I watched a documentary on all the display teams of the world and this air show in Canada where they all performed, everyone admitted these guys (and girl) are the best in the world.

    I didn’t really have a clue what the Red Arrows were the only thing in my head at the time was an Apollo Rocket I had probably seen on the telly.
    I will never forget to this day when these Red planes flying low over my head with the roar of the noise when I was expecting a white rocket of sorts.🚀

    best pilots in the world - even the americans agree - i've heard their display team say so and want to adopt the red arrows routines

  • @madzangels
    @madzangels 2 года назад

    In terms of their matched speed - how is this done? Are they setting a precise speed through a computer like auto-cruise in a car? Or is this purely manual? It seems there are so many variables in a place that could affect one pilots speed more than the other? It's so impressive either way

    • @DHBKidd510
      @DHBKidd510 2 года назад

      tl;dr - Its purely manual, but they have an idea of a speed they should be at.
      From what I know, the team briefs/goes over the flight while on the ground in a room together. Some teams even will walk around the room in formation, mocking the maneuvers they will do in order to make sure everyone is on the same page about where they should be, at which times. They also spend plenty of time practicing in the actual jets, without an official show below them, so they can call 'no-maneuver' or 'knock-it-off' if they get a maneuver incorrect during practice, and will set up for it again. So with all this preparation and practice, certain maneuvers they do, they have and know the range of speed they should be at. For the formations where there is a lead plane of the diamond or delta, the other planes try to stick to and match the speed in which the lead plane sets, but normally, every member/pilot on the team knows what speed which maneuver should be at different times. So if you ever are watching a cockpit video, if you look at the pilot's hand on the throttles, they're usually pushing up on throttle for more power for just a second, then pulling back to ease off power, since the engines usually take a little delay to deliver the power they set, its hard to get it smoothly perfect to where their hands are never moving the throttles. Tiny little adjustments are usually needed to fly as tight as the Red Arrows, Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, Patriots, Knights, etc.

    Is the full 3D video available on Blu Ray anywhere? I would love to purchase!!!!!

      The 3d isn't for the video itself, its for a type of ride in some aerospace museums that has a movement module that makes it so you feel the turning of the craft, so, its not for home use. And also I don't think that a Blu Ray would alow for a 3D view.

    great video BUT why advertise it as 3D? Please change annotation to still show HD but only original RAF video was in 3D

    I saw this at the Science Museum in London this summer. I was hoping for it to be more realistic but we were all pretty disappointed. Your seat moves/shudders a bit but I honestly think that this video is better because even though they give you 3D glasses to wear it's not brilliant - this video is free too lol

    Holy cow they are close! I didn't know that 25 countries use the hawk, I know that the UK and the US use them, the other countries I can think of is Finland, Switzerland. Can't think of any more.
