I had the pleasure of seeing this van in person at the Adventure Van Expo near Portland last weekend. It's a beautiful van and Storyteller did a great job with it. Looks even better out in the wild!
Usually enjoy your videos...today the background music is loud and annoying...can't deal with it..sorry....It would be nice to see the lady now and then...seems like you have become the only star of the show!!!
Wow!!! This camper van is amazing!!! It has it all except the toilet but I seen you two brought your portable. I’m blown away about the electrical system! Having been able to have the a/c going like that. Thankyou for sharing and safe travels from Canada 🍁
I love that even though you 2 made a different choice, you can still appreciate the good stuff about other rigs and give a fair review. Looks like a fun ride . Have a great time in big bear this weekend.
I liked the van, personally. I liked the bed, layout, performance, etc. It wouldn't be affordable for me though, sadly. It was fun seeing Charlie with you! Hope to see you on your next adventure soon! Take care and God bless you!
After considering A LOT of different brands of camper vans; the rest have proven that they are DEFINITELY NOT THIS STO BEAST MODE 4X4. IT IS THE ONLY ONE I WOULD EVER PURCHASE !!!!!!!
@@thomasdarby6084 Fake news... I priced a Sportsmobile build that would be similar to the non-BEAST MODE (selling price 150K) and it was over 200K + 6-12 month lead time. Clearly you have limited knowledge of the adventure van market; the Volta system alone is a 30K+ system.
@@TB-em6dy It isn't how much money you put into something, it's what that something is worth to you. I have purchased a Sportsmobile Ford E450 based 4x4 for delivery by April. Yes the original retail cost is over $175k but I got it for much less because I was able to fill a production spot that a customer cancelled on. Why wasn't Kait also filmed, as opposed to just do the filming? Even the small food segment, she used to show her recipes. Being a couple, it'd be nice to see both of you.
I love the Murphy bed/bench design. Wising more vans would do the same but instead have the bed come down in four pieces so users bring down only two back sections closer to rear to make a single bed of traveling a lone and have more living space with the rest of the bed up. Or bring down the inner pieces as the bed and keep the rear pieces up and have more of a garbage to keep a bike if traveling solo. Of coarse bring down all 4 pieces if owners want a bigger bed to sleep two like it currently is 👍🏾
OK, truck campers are awesome. There is no doubt about that. I’ve owned 3 over the past 20 years. We’ve switched to a van for a variety of reasons, one of which is shipping the van overseas for travel doesn’t work very well with a t/c, especially one as big as ours. I realize you guys have a relationship with Storyteller, but you need to check out the Winnebago Revel. We just picked one up and it’s awesome and it doesn’t look like a 70’s stabin cabin (Storyteller is missing the avocado shag carpet) or child snatchingmobile like the Storyteller and it has a real bathroom. Yes, it lacks the storage of the Storyteller, but that’s an easy mod.
Makes me want it just so I can get another dog! Good to see you guys with Charlie. That’s a wonderful model - it has so many practical features! Love the bed and shower too!
always love watching you 2, already traded vehicles? that's cool to share first hand usage. your music base was to high, distorded my tv speakers, had to turn it down to the point i couldn't hear it comfortably. sorry, had to shut it down.
It’s a nice van. The fantastic fan can help a lot to pull air in, best with only a window open. We also have a 525 amp hr lithium battery pack and they power forever! We prefer the enclosed bathroom with a shower but we also prefer to shower outside whenever possible, like there in the desert. Great editing too! Thanks
Cool video. Alabama Hills is such a neat place. Most people from SoCal drive right past it on their way to Mammoth and Eastern Sierra and don’t even know it’s there. Heck, half the folks going to the Portals don’t even know about it.
Another really cool trip. It was so nice to see Charlie again; but, I missed Kate's pretty face. I would say this trip sure gave you distance from people in these trying times. LOL!
If you guys were to build your own van would you go with a cassette toilet with the briefcase tank like you had on previous videos? Or would you go with a composting one?
Looks like alot of fun. Very nice set up for sure. the paint scheme needs a huge redo . Looks like a van from the 70's on paint. i am sure they can do better. thanks for sharing as it was fun to watch.
My concern with the Beast is the volume of water it carries. With showers and cooking how many days can you boondock with 2 people before going in for a water refill?
Depends on how you use it. We’ve gone a week which includes two showers per person. That said you’re getting wet, shutting the water off, soaping up and then rinsing.
So what was your thoughts on the shower? Functional? Enough room? Water temp and pressure? Place to put your toiletries inside the shower? Just curious......
Does Storyteller Overland offer this in a longer wheelbase? A little bit more room would be nice. It also would be nice to have this on the new Ford AWD Transit. Much lower cost of ownership.
Are the Modes 4 season? I just watched your video with the Transit Mode and you mention it being 4 season but there’s no mention on the STO website which seems odd.
Joe, thanks for the video. It is always good to see you guys back in a van. I still think you will be back in one soon. I love the Storyteller Beast Mode.
How about a backpack and a tarp? Your feet will take you on trails where motorized vehicles aren't allowed. There are minimalist options, adventure vans and everything in between for all types of customers!
I don't know what the clearance is but the handling is better on road than the standard 4x4 Sprinter. Smoother and less sway going through corners. We've never taken one off road so we can't compare it to the Beast. That said, from what others have told us the difference is night and day.
Makes you wish you had a rig with AC doesn't it? I gotta tell you though: Your vids seem to be far and few between these days and when you do release one, it's a commercial? C'mon guys, you can do better than that.
I have to say this vehicle fits you two about 100 times more than that other thing you bought. We had a popup camper and it was not easy to deal with. I like the Revel better as the bathroom is a separate room and the bed raises and you can put a lounge and storage under the bed. The storage in the back can only be access if you make your bed. Not good.
All of the storage can be accessed with bed stowed or bed down. Revel's fixed bathroom means you have less interior space for lounging. MODE toilet can be placed outside when at campsite (more privacy than using bathroom in van). Pros and cons to both designs.
