This video really brought back memories of tinkering and working on my own cars back in the day. Nothing more rewarding than fixing or repairing yourself especially with positive results. Hope you were able to solve the misfire issue. Looking forward to the next video.
I need to do my plugs again but last time I found cylinders 1-3 a right pain in the arse to do. Maybe because it was the first time on the 996 or maybe it was being right handed but the other side was much easier.
Hey there! Yes, it's from a 997.1 and also has a resonator delete pipe. I doubt it makes any additional power at all, but it looks great and the intake noise is joyous!
Follow up videos to come on this one! I believe we finally found the answer but it's probably not what anyone would hope (or expect) to be causing misfiring.
@@Motorhaus Sad to say sounds like bore scoring to me had the same misfire issue P0305 and later detected bore scoring when we checked through the bottom end. Hope its not the problem.
@@lousmaldino5942 - stay tuned for a couple of follow up videos on this issue. We've sought some specialist advice and have a couple of extra issues to address first before we can genuinely consider bore scoring as the issue.
Interested in how we finally fixed the misfire? We've posted an update video here: ruclips.net/video/N-53wRcuja4/видео.html

It’s an absolute pig of a job. I did find the passenger side (the side shown in this video) marginally easier than the driver’s side.
which ODB scanner tool did you use? I need to buy one...
Your air filter housing looks much cooler than mine. Is that from a 997

So did you solve the issue? I am chasing the exact same misfire issue on a 2003 Targa.
Check out the follow up video, pinned in the comments!

Hmmm.. have you checked the bores? there's a lot of smoke coming out the exhausts.
