grace mckenna was refreshingly well written in first one, smartest one in room but not woke and deprecating the others or men in general, in this she was dumbed down.....hope she will shine again
She was definitely the star of Afterlife. Felt like a real Spengler and in Frozen Empire she really had nothing to do at all. She was just whiny about wanting to be a part of the team and that was pretty much it…still liked McKenna’s performance because she’s just a charismatic actress, but the character writing was MUCH weaker imo
I hope if they make another they listen to the criticisms of this one and try to fix it for the next one, NOT retcon and damage control, we all know how bad that turned out with Rise of Skywalker
Interesting video my friend! As a massive GB fan, I loved hearing your thoughts. I enjoyed Frozen Empire well enough for the most part but it was definitely missing some things and the third act was a bit of a letdown. I did respect them trying some new things and bringing in some new concepts but at the same time, those things weren’t explored enough.

It just feels like another Ghostbusters movie with nothing new with a awful clichéd villain. Here's how you fix Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. You cut and you simplify. You begin by cutting out all of the unnecessary characters, scenes and subplots in order for the film to focus on fewer characters and the central problem of Garraka. You cut out Podcast, Peck, Melody, Slimer and the library ghost. You cut out Hubert and the new york public library scene, and instead give the Garraka history exposition to Ray from his occult book shop. You also cut out the paranormal research centre, including Lucky, Lars, Pukey, Phosphor, the possessor ghost and the miniature stay pufts. You keep Janine behind the desk as the Ghostbusters secretary, not as one of the Ghostbusters. So, we're left with Ray, Peter, Winston, Janine, Gary, Callie, Phoebe, Nadeem and Garraka. Act 1 Right away we find out that New York is experiencing a heatwave. We also see that Phoebe has already been sidelined - neither her parents nor the original Ghostbusters allowing her to take part, due to the danger involved. We see Janine answer a call and then see Ray, Peter, Winston, Gary and Callie leave without Phoebe. They attend the call and capture a ghost together in the midst of the hot weather. We're then shown that the Ghostbusters now provide a new service whereby people can bring possessed objects to the firehall and have them "cleaned". The Ghostbusters have a machine in their basement (the one from the paranormal research centre) which seperates ghosts from objects, and sends them into the containment unit. Nadeem visits the firehall and shows Ray the orb. Ray tests it with the pke meter and finds that it's definately haunted. He puts the orb in a box with a bunch of other possessed objects to get cleaned. The orb is placed inside the machine and Garraka is seperated from the orb. He escapes the machine and the firehall. The Ghostbusters quickly try to recapture Garraka but they discover that their proton beams have no effect on him. He escapes and transforms new york into a frozen hellscape. We see the firehall get frozen solid. Inside we janine and phoebe hug one another in fear and see a thermometer drop from 40 degrees to minus zero. Act 2 The whole city is freezing. Everything is iced up. Roads are blocked, people trapped inside buildings and vehicles at risk of hypothermia. The Hudson river is frozen rock solid and the statue of liberty looks like a giant snowman. Shivering, the Ghostbusters return to the firehall and see that it's frozen solid, encased within a thick layer of ice. They fire their proton beams at the entrace, melting the ice. They manage to open the doors and find Janine and Phoebe shivering. They get the heating working and they all put on extra clothing. Ray researches the history of the orb and finds out about Garraka. They know that unless they recapture him, the world will be frozen forever and all life will die. Winston attaches chains to the tyres of the Ecto 1 and tops it up with anti freeze. The Ghostbusters attend calls all over new york while braving the elements. The Ghostbusters attend a call in which they're attacked by Garraka. Garraka tries to destroy the Ecto 1 but is hurt when splashed by some of the anti freeze. The Ghostbusters discover that Garraka has a weakness and set about a plan. Act 3 The Ghostbusters go to a gas station and buy all the bottles of antifreeze they can find. They go back to the firehall, take the slime blowers out of storage and fill them with anti freeze. Before they leave the firehall Phoebe begs to go with them but they say no. They leave the firehall and eventually find Garraka. They lure him into a trap. Peter, Ray and Winston shoot him with antifreeze weakening him enough for the proton beams to work. Gary and Callie fire at him with their proton beams but Garraka finds some strength and fights back. Phoebe suddenly appears with an extra proton pack and together they manage to capture Garraka in a ghost trap. The ice starts to melt and New York defrosts. We see the temperature rise from minus zero back to 40 degrees. The Ghostbusters put Garraka into the containment unit and step outside the firehall to be congratulated by a large crowd.
I personally thought Garakah was just as good as Vigo and Gozer were. I respect your opinion of course CHRISMED2, but at least the Garakah character from frozen 🥶❄️🌨️ empire was much better than the villain from the 2016 reboot who was just awful. They just made him a regular guy named Rowan who was a hotel 🏨 cleaner 🧹🧼 🫧 who dislikes people just because he thinks they bully him when most of the inhabitants of New York 🗽 didn't even know him. Did that make sense to me? Sadly not, but at least Gozer, Vigo and Garakah made sense. But apparently Rowan was actually based on the director Paul Feig himself who was bullied as a child, so it's probably no surprise why Rowan was such a poor Ghostbusters villain.
I agree. Generic demon-looking villain who only showed up for the last 10-15 minutes and did nothing but stand there. Was hoping for a lot more based off the trailers...
@@BAMTubeMovies Yeah it kind of looked as if Garakah would be seen throughout the movie and that New York 🗽 would be frozen 🥶🌨️❄️ for the majority of the movie 🎥. But then Gozer was only seen at the end of the 1984 original and afterlife, whereas Vigo appeared throughout Ghostbusters II. Either way Rowan North from the failed 2016 reboot, who I mentioned in my previous comment was such a bad villain that he came across as a pathetic person who should've stopped blaming his problems on other people.
As a fan it pains me to say this but I have to be honest - Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a bad movie. The film is total a mess. It's an overstuffed, poorly paced, confusing, convoluted movie with an unnecessarily complicated plot. There are far too many characters, some of which have been needlessly shoehorned into the story. Many of the characters are also very bland, with very little personality, charisma, likability, humor or chemistry. It's overstuffed with unnecessary dialogue, dull subplots, pointless characters and scenes which go on for far too long. It's not funny either. I didn't laugh once during the movie, and neither did the audience I was watching it with. It's not frightening either. There are no scares in the film. Laughs and scares are two things you expect from a Ghostbusters film, but this latest entry in the series is completely devoid of any. Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan may be talented directors, but they're the wrong people to be writing Ghostbusters films. Afterlife was mediocre at best, but Frozen Empire is just plain bad. With a heavy heart, I rate this film 3 out of 10. I feel a lot of fans are in denial about just how bad this film is.

Why do you have to say to the statement I made about Michael bay and Roland emmerich which films of there’s do you think have a coherent story and compelling charachters.
Michael Bay has a few. I like The Rock, 13 Hours, Transformers (2007), The Island and Armageddon. Emmerich I’m not so sure haha, some of his earlier stuff like Stargate, Independence Day and The Patriot!
Armageddon I heard was criticised for its ludicrous plot I was asking which films of his have a coherent plot did the island and 13 hours and transformers 2007 along with the rock Have a coherent plot

But anyway reviews and critics called armaheddon a ludicrous mess a movie has to have some logic and plus don’t you agree that bad boys, the rock, transformers 2007, the island and pain and gain had more logic and less excess than Armageddon.

Glad we fully agree on this one Harry! I personally really liked Afterlife, so I was excited for this one...I ended up being SO let down...

I really expected more from this one, very disappointed. Hopefully if they get to finish this new trilogy, they end on a high note!

I went a bit higher, about a 5/10 for me cause there were elements I still liked. But definitely my least favourite of the franchise.
