Literally was looking around for more tutorials to help figure out what I’m doing wrong yesterday and you guys just drop another banger at the perfect time. 😂
Another cracking video, really enjoying this style of video. Keep up the good work! It’s nice being able to assess the attempts and then listen to your feedback.
Hey Benjamin, We used to do it in Stubai in November but two autumns in a row Austria has shown that you cant trust them to allow skiing or travel. Thus we kept our autumn camps here in Switzerland who´s been more reliable.
Super good concept and nice to showcase the progress of an intermediate skier, as these profiles (incl. me) are actually the ones that want to start learning these tricks! Keep up the good work!! 🔥🔥
Thanks for this tutorial! I keep naturally leaning backwards when I hit rails making me fall backwards. I have to remember to stay leveled and vertical with the rail!
For beginners, any twin tip ski that has a waist between 87mm-93mm. If you’re a more experienced skier you can go with anything between 80mm-100mm, but I do think 87-93 is great for a park skier. Good entry level park skis: 1). K2 Sight 2). Line Honey Badger 3). Rossingol Sprayer 4). Head Oblivion 84 (or 94) 5). Armada ARV 94 (more on the expensive side) If your skis are too wide, you’re more likely to smack your skis together when hitting rails and boxes. If you’re skis are too thin, you’re going to have a harder time balancing on rails. I would recommend you go thinner VS wider though
Can you make a video on skiing through back trails? I really like to do it, but I have trouble controlling my speed when there is not always room to turn, and this often causes me to fall on most runs
Can somone explain, why i keep slipping away with my skis and falling to the side and crashing my hips haha. It is so slippery and i get no balance? Like in minute 4:37
Which ski model is he using (student)? Been searching for them. Anyone knows? Thanks in advance. Great video as per. Been trying to do it myself but fear always makes me bottle it in the end.
I watched this video for the first time back in February/March of 2023 and it didn’t really help me, I had to keep trying it until I stopped falling. My advice: 1). Pick out a rail that’s barely off the ground and try sliding onto it at slower speeds (not too slow). [You are going to fall a lot, just don’t let it get to you]. 2). Once you get the balance down and you’re able to slide the whole thing without falling, then try hopping onto the same rail. 3). Once you master the smaller rails you can try more medium rails where you are actually jumping onto them. This is the only way I was able to learn. I couldn’t even hit a single rail 3 months ago and now I’m able to hit all the small/medium rails IF YOU CAN’T FIND A SMALL RAIL TO SLIDE ONTO, make one. All you need is access to a drill & a handsaw, go buy wood and some pvc. Find a slope that’s gradual and keep hiking and skiing the rail you’ve made.
I don't get the point of all the tricks where people just pretend to be skateboarders. A rail slide is how skateboarders descend stairs...but there are no stairs here. A "grab" is how a skateboarder prevents the board from falling off their feet...but skis and snowboards are attached to your feet
Watch some urban cuts of people skiing and snowboarding. Its not just emulating skateboarding. Without grabbing the tip of the ski you can't get those amazing crossed ski gap shots. The rails and boxes on the mountain are a safer way to practice, just like a skate park. You may be confused about skateboarding as well, I would gap stairs on a skateboard all the time as a child vs riding the rail down and I never needed to grab my board to land properly.
Thank you Jens, watching someone actually learn those tricks from ground up really helped me and motivated me to try doing them myself!
Pop my first rails yesterday!! Thank you!!
These intermediate tutorials are amazing, keep it up

That insert with köttbullar, lingonsylt & potatismos was really nice!

Hi Jens, have you thought about hosting a camp at a different location (austria?) so that it becomes more accessible (pricewise) for others?

very fair however was that not just due to the covid pandemic. Surely they are more reliable now?
History repeats itself
very informative video on showing how it works. good job! :D
The dude on 2:39 in the background did a clean one
Yup, then fell😂😂
It’s laxx what do you expect 😂
Props to Nico for sticking with it even when you're overwhelmed at first! I really liked this one.
More of these kind of videos please
Very cool. I will try these tips tomorrow and report back how it goes.
If we dont hear anything ? Should we worry?
Good luck!

Land and bring your hand on top of your front knee
Takes me back to age 6 till 11. In France. Wouldnt mind these lessons as an old timer on a single board instead of a pair of lats.
Haha... I am also more often visualising köttbullar than me doing something ^^
Thanks this will help me a lot
Thank you!
i d like to see some adive regarding which ski/boots for park

When hitting a rail, should your entire body be rotated, or just the lower half? Or is that a style thing and it can be either way?
Entire body. If upper half is facing a different direction then your lower body will inevitably follow.
I need this
I’m putting this off until I pass my level 1 alpine exam then I’m finally going to try it
GREAT!
Great video, really hate the blurry filter you've added in post...
Hi Jens, was this filmed recently? I noticed 2 different kickers in the pro line and new boxes on P60

Look up videos of hop turns. But if it’s too narrow to turn most of the time you just gotta point the tips and go for it
Always start by visualizing Swedish meatballs, got it!

Do you need to worry about catching your downhill edge on the rail?
not at all
I cant happen but its rare.
Make sure to learn how to slide both ways on rails
I always have the problem of my backfoot ski catching an edge on the rail stopping my momentum and launching me forward straight to my face
any tips ?

i dont think visualize is the ultimate ski tip
