    Lots of questions about this:
I bleeped the C word in this video because it was spoken in a sentence regarding a “cure”. RUclips has ways of scrubbing through videos and flagging/demonetizing videos that perpetuate false information. I didn’t want to be speaking the words “essential oils cure c--“ multiple times in my video because it may be flagged when it shouldn’t be.

It’s shameful RUclips dies that, since there are legitimate ways (not oils) to boost the immune system that are better for many people than what the pharmaceutical industry and the FDA have to offer.

In Canada you need to take tax classes/lifestyle class in high school and the CRA sends you mail telling you if you failed to file your taxes. It's a lot different here then in the states, if you're not doing your taxes its a lot more intentional. We have free programs for university/college students so generally people are more informed about taxes. (don't get me wrong some people will slip through the cracks due to environmental/poverty issues). Also the CRA, allegedly, tends to let you repay, and just fine you late fees, so if she went to court it most likely means it was Intentional and there was some evasion, or non response on that reps part.

As a healthcare professional (nursing support worker), you're absolutely right. Essential oils can't cure or treat a disease or disorder.
I love them for relaxation and self care. They're great for that. I remember using them on my earlobes (before I knew any better) and giving myself an ear infection. And (again, before I knew better) how to not annoy my immune system with them. If you're not careful, your immune system can go into overdrive and cause an autoimmune disorder to go haywire. I did all that when with doTERRA, and I remember how awful I felt after my Hashimoto's went haywire because of the oils. I eliminated everything I could and followed a strict diet and still felt horrendous. I set the oils aside and felt better within a month.

Regarding taxes: when you work a regular job, the company pays taxes into Social Security for you. With MLM's, that doesn't happen. If you work many years in an MLM, when you become eligible for Social Security, you have no work history of paying in. There won't be anything for you, except the bare minimum payment, which *I think* is around $500 a month. I feel bad for the reps that spend 20, 30, 40 years in MLM'S, and think they have Social Security to fall back on.

Regarding the last fail, I think it is pretty notable that the rep used tech companies to make a comparison to Monat because the Tech industry overall is well-known for the fact that they fail to make a profit for the first couple of years of operation. I wonder what the comparison would look like if they used comparable companies/brands in the same field.

Glad to hear someone went after DoTerra. I had a former friend who was a rep for them and some of the stuff she and her upline were spouting was absolutely absurd. It's why she's a former friend, I'd finally had it with all of it. However, I'm not a bit surprised to find out these were healthcare workers who were in trouble after my experience last year post surgery with the people at the physical therapy place I went to. Anti vaxxers, conspiracy theorists--so much for critical thinking during their training. Needless to say, after feeling totally stressed out after having to listen to them, I cancelled my last couple of appointments. I will NEVER go back to that therapy place either, it was hospital affiliated and I was really hoping I would have received a survey about my thoughts. Unfortunately I didn't.

99% of people lose money, but also, if your get into the one percent, you’ll be making money at the expense of all those people losing money. So you’ll be the real bad guy. It’s literally eat or get eaten, there is no comfortable and respectful middle ground.

First I love your videos, I’m so glad the algorithm put you in my radar ….
Ok so I’m sooo glad you talked about the tax thing for independent contractors! Anytime I see anything on mlms talking about the income I NEVER hear anyone talk about the taxes, that would be my first thing to say (if I was anti-mlm) like basically that check that hun is showing off, cut that in half and that’s your take home after taxes🤦🏽‍♀️
And my last thing is I have 2 theories on the “I used to be a hater, anti-mlmer but now I’m not” people (not that you asked lol)
    1) these people know all the risks involved BUT also know that if you get in early you’re likely to be successful so they take advantage of that knowledge and 2) these people really aren’t ex-mlm peeps they just say it because they think it gives them more credibility like, “well if someone who WAS a hater is now part of the community there has to be something to this worth looking in to” ….. either way totes sketch

But they still need to record them giving their family attention and post it, so that we all know how much "time-freedom" they have.

  • @nonehandle688

Hannah, I'm glad you are pointing out the taxes issue. If you are self-employed, you must set aside 15% of your pay just for Social Security taxes, because self-employed people are their own employers. In employment, the employer pays half (about 7.5%), but when you are self-employed, you must pay it all. There is no getting around it. You can deduct expenses, but you have to pay Soc.Sec. This does not cover federal and state taxes. If you make very little, 15% may be all you pay. If you make a lot, you should plan on setting aside 35-50% of your take-home pay for taxes. This is another thing that proves there is no such thing as a get-rich-quick scheme.

The value of 1 billion USD in 1976 is 5.5 billion in today's currency with inflation. It's comparing apples with oranges and bananas and dragon fruit! Monat made their money in 2015-2023 and none of the companies cited coincide with that period for a start.

I was a freelance contractor as a sound engineer before I left New York City during pandemic, as soon as I found out that I was going to be an independent contractor I was stressed out because I knew I wasn’t gonna be good about making sure to pay that back right away😂 So to know that all people who work in an MLM are private contractors makes it seem like an even more dangerous idea to me, especially if you’re young or just somebody who’s not financially literate like myself😂 I have so much shit to catch up with as far as the IRS is concerned😅
