I was totally freaking out in the cafeteria of the hospital where I work watching the direct on coffee. I then watched it again at my lunch. Now I’m watching your reaction. 8 of the "new" villagers are returning from the original games and some of those have name changes. Fret used to be Champagne and Azalea used to be Petunia

I spent the entire weekend watching reactions to the direct and I would say yours is my favorite 😆
There was so much! But one small thing that really made me happy is that alligator “Roswell”, 2:06:40 he is from the original animal crossing but he was discontinued and he is one of my favorite discontinued characters, I think he looks so cool!! I wanted them to bring him back so much but was sure they never would, I’m ecstatic!!

So now that I have watched just about all the reaction videos. I’m rearranging my island to fit new things (like the crops)!!!!!
Since most of this stuff was in the data mine leaks, it's likely they were working on this all along.
I suspect these were all the incremental releases we were supposed to get over the course of the last year... but then Covid hit Japan and delayed everything so they ended up just bundling it all into one giant 2.0 update.
Its been so awesome seeing the community come back into full swing like this. XD

Wait I thought that it was just $25 if you have Nintendo online? I think it said it is $25 if you have Nintendo online but if you have the nintendo online plus thing, you get it from that but you don't "own" the game if you get it through there - so you lose access to the game if you don't have an active yearly account.
