  • If the road noise and over-all lack of insulation of your C5 Corvette is driving you nuts and are looking for a more premium feel this is a must! For roughly $60 and a weekend of your time transform the entire feel of your Vette! This mod adds approximately 20lbs and for me it is totally worth it. Feel free to ask questions!

    Wow, really nice and detailed installation. Glad it changed the interior sound. I really want to get rid of the interior heat more than noise. Your project should have solved both!

      The better option is underneath in the trans tunnel using a heat shield like Design Engineering's one.

    I just commented on your part 2 post, I used that Dynamat about 15 years ago when I owned a 1992 NSX. I gutted the whole interior and did the same thing. Curious why did you use the layer or 2 of foam on top of the Dynamat ? Nice job, I enjoyed that kind of work. Definitely made a big difference in the sound insulation on that NSX and definitely a low budget fix

    Great subject, for me. Because I am partially deaf I need to have my C5 coupe quiet, so I can carry on coversations with my passengers. I have already removed the Magnaflow mufflers the previous owner installed and replaced them with stock mufflers (keeping the Magnaflow Xpipe). This helped but I still have more tire noise than I want. I'm sure that your approach will meet my needs. Thanks.

    LOL! I have owned both C5 Coupes and a C5 Z06. One of the main benefits buying a Z06 (for me at least) was the removal of all the excess weight which gives the Z06 a much more visceral driving experience. Yes it is much noisier but that is kind of the point. If you want the closest thing to a race car in a C5 you get a Z06. If you want something closer to a Cadillac you buy a Coupe.

    Hey brother! Just got my headers done. Love they way they sound but the drive train noise, and sewing machine sound when I accelerate drives me nuts. I keep stumbling on your videos for sound damping. Would you still recommend header wrap/sound damping to solve that issue? I know it’s been some time since these were posted so, wondering if you still feel the same/recommend?

    • @VetOnVettes
      @VetOnVettes  Год назад +2

      Hey man. The header wrap took about 85% of the noise away. You CAN wrap them on the car.. tricky but doable. If possible take them out and throw them back in. All of the interior sound dampening is incredible.

    • @dylanhughes964
      @dylanhughes964 Год назад +1

      @@VetOnVettes Thank you, brother! I wish I was better equipped to take them off or had wrapped them prior, lesson learned. I may have to just slowly and steadily wrap with them on. If you’re pleased with the wrap you used I’ll give that a go!

      @VetOnVettes757 quick shout out to let you know I picked up an 01 Z06 two weeks ago and your channel convinced me to buy one. Already has cam and headers and the sewing machine sound kills me. I'm 1/2 way through my joying install and wondering if you think some insulation at the back if the cage behind the radio and hvac controls would help.

      @@VetOnVettes hey man you don't show it but did you use the white foam on the back area and down in the sunken floor? You don't show it in the vid. I've done the whole car with the flashing and the area around the center console and drivers passenger seat in the foam.. All those lines, bumps were a real pain in the d*ck with the flashing. I'm so sore from climbing all around, through over this thing. If you did the foam did you manage to form it around all those bumps and troughs? Or did you just lay it on top and glue it?
