@@Wolfpack345 Wolfpack, GREAT win against the Americans, now since youve played the campaign on the Japanese side, i want to see you play as the Americans.
Loved the series and the game so far, however owning the game myself, it needs a few fixes, your final statement sums it up pretty well the balancing issues (among others) in this game "We have destroyed a total of 212 enemy ships, this includes 2 aircraft carriers and 6 battleships, well over 1 million and a half tons was sent to the bottom, in turn, we have lost 4 submarines and 1 Fubuki class destroyer"
Yup. Balanceing and pacing in the campaign need a lot of work. The game is also hampered by the stratigic and tactical AI, which seems almost non existent at the moment.
@@Wolfpack345 At least the later patches seem to have improved it a little. You told in the last episode that they had the sense to turn around but in the first episodes it seemed like the USN seemed to be embracing the Kamikaze spirit.
@@Perkelenaattori Yeah, they are pretty ardent in improving the game, so that's a plus side. I wonder how this game will look like a year from now. One of the biggest game-breaking exploits I have found is the replenishment mechanic, if you build a level 3 port, you can have infinite planes. Just leave your carrier at the port and whenever you lose planes, just simply replenish the fleet and your carrier is good as new.
@@AnonYMous99993 I seriously hope for more campaigns besides Guadalcanal before committing to a purchase decision but the game seems to show promise. I have a feeling if there was a Philippines campaign in 1944, Wolfpack would be far more bothered by the enemy.
I find it hilarious imagining the admiral who would have to explain how he lost over 200 ships in the Guadacanal/Papua New Guinea theatre in just over a month. USN has pretty much been crippled from this campaign.
To be fair, Japanese Light AA tech was notoriously terrible in throughout the war. The gun mounts had vibration issues from their own guns, and were slow to train even when power assisted. The guns themselves had slow firing speed and were fed with box magazines that had to be manually reloaded. Never mind the absence of radar-directed fire control even as late as the sinking of the Yamato.
That last scene with the flyover was phenomenal. Ive played 150 plus hours on this game and in no way whatsoever have the patience to set something like that up. Really enjoyed your series and REALLY hope you play through as the Americans.
I just want to say that I absolutely love your cinematic and story-telling style introductions you put in front of all your videos. It really gets me immersed in whats to come and I think it's something you should totally continue into the future!
Speaking of improved, they already did quite a few balancing changes like cvs now cost 120 instead of I think it used to be 90 command points and subs now cost 10 points each
What a lovely end to an arc Wolfpack. You are the first content creator that ive seen that actually finished the game properly and i comend you highly for that. It has been a pleasure watching you play this game and im very curious with thats to come for the future of your channel. This series was much enjoyed from my side and i wish you all the best and until the next one take care. Btw I think that torpedo that you did not mean to fire at the Mahan would have actually hit her if she did not sink prematurely and continued on her previous course at the speed that she was at HaHaHa
Awesome campaign, here's hoping for more in the future. That victorious fleet review and flyover at the end set to the victory theme music was outstanding! Great narration and cinematic flourishes throughout, and a solid campaign. Thanks Wolfpack!
31:31 LOL! Your ending is 10,000 times better than the small box you get when you actually do win the campaign. Really underwhelming! Nice job again. Thanks. Loved the series!
Another great video! I have been running subs in groups of 6 to attack convoys and even had success attacking the remaining merchant ships with my subs on the surface and using their deck guns to take them out. Its Sept 14th, the Americans have lost 383 ships to the IJN loss of 4 destroyers and 1 Heavy cruiser. I only sunk 2 battleships and have yet to see the others, which will be some strange task forces as all of the American Light and Heavy cruisers have been sunk (except the Baltimore class Heavy that I have not yet seen). Right now all I see are subs, convoys with 4 destroyer escorts or even task forces of 7 destroyers. Considering the Americans have 177 Fletcher class DD this will take time but the game goes much quicker when you can run the map at a constant 1800x speed. Not sure what to do with the 1079 command points as I already have the area flooded with task forces and hunter killer groups.
Fantastic conclusion to a fantastic campaign by a master admiral. The game's potential is enormous. Once the gameplay is improved to a truly satisfactory point, I would love to see a mediterranean campaign pitting Italian Navy against Royal Navy and why not, against some German U-boats too. Even better, would be a Great War offshoot with much limited air element comprising only floatplanes, zeppelins, blimps and much more extensive surface battles.
Thank you a lot, it was very entertaining. It seems you have put a lot of effort in your videos. Especially the editing and narration were well done (liked the Katakana like titles too). I look forward to more things getting added to the game. You've showed how much potential there is: Very likely I want to try out War on the Sea in the future as well.
Ha, I knew this would work! Get subs working together and focus on eliminating single, high priority targets- there's no such thing as overkill! The amount of humiliation and backlash in the US is probably enormous- I doubt, that Roosevelt would remain President after that. Maybe an isolationist faction would have gained an upper hand? Furthermore, Royal Navy has to commit to defend Australia now (or do the wise thing and abandon it) and so lessen the grip on the Ubootwaffe, or lose the continent- Japan would have had a free hand to operate farther in the Indian Ocean and possibly disrupt the passage of Indian resources... This would have been a major turning point in history with massive repercussions. Thanks for the series mate, very entertaining!
Fantastic campaign your subs played a major role earlier on but have not seen any action for many episodes until now and it was a great ending with your subs serving you proud.
To call it a unquestionable victory would be an epic undersell. It would be cool to see if all the updates put out since the start would have an impact on a new campaign. The AI didn't seem to effectively use its airpower. Something needs to be added to balance out the endless airplanes as well. Maybe their accuracy could be tied to an experience variable, the more planes you've lost the worse they perform to reflect the loss of veteran pilots.
32:23 Keep in mind all of those losses will be replaced by the Two Ocean Navy Act and I’m sure the US government would further ramp up shipbuilding to account for these losses. It may take till 1947 or beyond, but Japan would still lose.
I finally had to get this game, mainly because of this series. I wish it was a bit more difficult however. It is so easy to wear down the AI with subs and aircraft.
Nicely done with the IJN campaign !! Love every ep of it I think you are the only one that have finish the IJN campaign all the way to the end. I hope the developer do more with balancing and add more different scenario available eg Attack of Pearl harbor or maybe the invasion/defense of SEA bloc from Japan would be interesting...
19 minutes 30 seconds thank you you didn't have to prove it but you still did so double thank you hopefully it works out if you try it again I just think it'd be pretty neat to see a couple's different submarines attack a fleet of ships at once thanks for the cool video not sure if I was the only one that asked but thank you for trying the wolf pack dude I just finished watching that's so awesome it worked well played sir
I really enjoyed watching this series I hope that you play again next time as the US forces. Thank you for the entertainment I know a lot of work goes into editing and posting these videos along with many hours of gameplay I just want you to know that your work is well appreciated.
Excellent mini-serie, Wolfpack. Well, actually, not so mini, as it kept me hooked to my screen for several evenings. Your work could even deserve to be broadcasted on Netflix 😎 Also, it shows pretty well what things could have been if the japanese 'Kantai Kessen' (decisive battle) strategy had actually worked. Loved it. 😘
