Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles. Safe protected bike lanes and trails are needed so adults and children can ride safely. Speak up for bicycles in your community. Bicycles make life and cities better.
I'm not in a city, but in my area the local transport authority is pretty anti cyclist. They do take money to install cycle routes, but the best one in the area ( a lovely coastal route) has cyclists banned from using it between May and October ( so it's ok if you want to ride it in the wind and rain....not exactly encouraging to families). This means that cyclists are required to use a fairly busy road during the summer. Part of the road does have cycle lanes painted on it in places, but during the summer the cycle lane is used as a car park (as it is free unlike the council car park). Nothing is done to discourage motorists from doing so.
@@TheSpeegy Speak to your local transportation planner or elected officials. Sometimes they just need a little encouragement. Send them a video of some great cities with protected bike lanes as examples of what can be done.
A real issue is everytime a single dollar in transportation infrastructure dollars doesn't go toward more automobile lanes ... The drivers all complain bitterly that they have to share the world with all these non-drivers. Entitled and arrogant they assume their needs are the only ones that matter and belittle Evey other mode and dismiss their advocates by simply assuming only drivers pay taxes, deserve their needs met. They also assume the best way to serve drivers is more lanes ....despite the ample evidence that more options helps drivers experience as well.
If these are…”cheap” then people really need a reality check on affordability. Renting a city bike for £4 is cheap. Dropping £800 on an e-bike all at once is for people who have £800 lying around. I get that these are relatively less costly than what other e-bikes can go for, but “cheap” is a gross over-statement. [Edit] And most of these were priced above £800 might I add. If you really want to help those with a lower budget, actually review some cheap e-bikes and discuss the reality of what the experience would be for the inevitable maintenance and possible repairs at some point (if it’s even all that different from more expensive e-bikes) as well as what the customer support is like for actual cheap brands. Now THAT would be a valuable and interesting video.
I know this is an old reply and I understand the sentiment but remember that electric bikes are also eligible for the Cycle2Work scheme so you can pay them off overtime and save money on the RRP if your employer is enrolled with the benefit.
Really impressed with the carrera impel 2, without the power on, it’s effortless to ride, smooth and responsive, And when you hit the hills, on with the power and smooth effortless climb to the top, superb bike, that performs well above its price range.
@@rube3k969 I have had no issues with the impel 2, it’s being Uber reliable, I had the update done, which apparently solved previous teething problems, great bike and have done 2000 miles without any issues
I was concerned that one bike had 'walk assist if you to push it up a steep hill'. My main reason for getting an ebike would be that i wouldn't need to get push it up steep hills.
Would be very interested to see your opinion in this mix of the Fiido C21 e-gravel bike. So far my number 1 choice and ticks a lot of boxes at a superb price in comparison to others. So much so, looking to order one.
Could you please assist me in selecting the appropriate e-bike? I require it for daily use to reduce belly and face fat. Given my budget constraints, I'm seeking the best budget e-bike option. Could you advise me on which e-bike would suit my needs best and where I can purchase it?
Yes, I returned my impel 3. It was an amazing comfy ride and very responsive until it died. Check my message a bit further up if you want to know more.
I do question whether those ranges are accurate in a real world scenario. I live in Wales, can't go two minutes without a mountain in the way, bet you wouldn't get 20miles or need only 1 gear around here 😂
My pureflux one has been stuck in my apartment for six weeks waiting to be repaired. This is the second time it has failed in six months. The customer service is bad. Do not buy this bike
1050 shipped for my Propella - I wanted simple, efficient, lightweight - 35 lbs, 250 w (all you really need), 20 mile range (more than enough). I've tricked it out with basket, shock seat post, phone holder, etc - I love it - company started on Kickstarter years back but they are now on to their 4th generation.

£2.4K is not budget.
For the trendy trust funds kids it's small change and the industry is focused on an elite customer.
A budget is a limited mites amount of money for a spend… so yes, it is a budget.

More security is needed so that your bike is still there when you come back for it.

Stick one on klarna over a year. Will be cheaper for people that rent them most days and by the end of it you actually own one.

I wish Cycling Weekly uploaded more regularly. It is great to watch cycling videos and reviews without feeling like I am watching an infomercial.
what goes in to making them? Some bikes are £100-200, so is it an extra £400-1000 for a motor, etc?
Great review which clearly shows prices and weights of the bikes
Great and the only thing I added to the bike is and extender tube to the stem and new seat!

The government should give an incentive for these e bikes. A few hundred pounds would be good and encouraging.
100% agree... if they want people out of car's.... oh wait they make a fortune from road tax & fuel
Cycle to work scheme with your employers. Get the bike tax free with 40 percent off
The carrera IM series S/M frame is min 5'6/7, not 5'1" as stated
It's all about the weight for me. Going up stairs needs to be easy. It looks like I'm going for first one. Hmmm
Core 5 from Ride1up. 500/750watt peak motor. 48v 10AH battery. Top speed 28mph. I got mine shipped to my door for only $1,005

bit of a necro, but the some of the carreras are torque sensor, read the stats at halfords
