    • @SmileWithGlenn

      I would send a letter of intent and just wait and give them a monthly email stating that you are still interested. Also mention what you have been doing to help better prepare you for dental school. Hope this helps :)

    Wow! So you were at FSCJ! That's where I also got my degree. I'm going to take my DAT in 2 weeks so hopefully, all goes well! Btw, what school did you apply to and do you know what dental schools are OOS for FL residents?

    • @SmileWithGlenn
      @SmileWithGlenn  Год назад

      Crazy how we may have been in the same class while at FSCJ lol. Hope you did well on your DAT. Some OOS friendly schools are midwestern university (IL and AZ), Detroit mercy, Roseman, Leecom, UF (great for you since you are a FL resident), and more that I can’t remember on the top of my head.

    did you get your bachelors? I'm in the same exact boat but I'm thinking about just doing the pre reqs and dat and start applying. if I go towards a bachelors I'm looking at 3 more years of undergrad school for nothing

    • @SmileWithGlenn
      @SmileWithGlenn  Год назад

      I did get my bachelors. You will definitely have a harder time applying without a bachelor’s, I believe most schools require that you at least have 90 credits from under grad with a bunch of them being upper level classes. It’s not impossible, just harder. Might as well try if you want to go that route. I wish you the best of chances.

    why do you think you got waitlisted first at MWU-IL? I just interviewed there last week and it has been my only interview so far, I think I did well, but I am freaking out bc I don't want to get rejected or waitlisted

    • @SmileWithGlenn
      @SmileWithGlenn  Год назад +1

      Honestly, I have no idea why they waitlisted me. Maybe there were a few candidates that they just liked more or did better than me, and then some probably denied the acceptance and I was next on the list or something. I’m happy I got in though. I do wish they had just accepted me from the beginning and never waitlisted me. It is still good to be waitlisted, it means that you are next in line basically.

    Hello, I hope all is well. I am a little bit nervous during this application cycle. I just submitted my application and worried about if I would be a good candidate for dental schools. So, my academic average was 18, but my AGPA was 3.95, and my BCPM GPA was 3.96. Guess the standardized exam didn't do me justice. A little background about me is that I served in the military for seven years and have done tours overseas. I have volunteered and shadowed since retiring early, but having a DAT score of 18 leads me to think I will not look good enough for an interview. Do you have any feedback?

    • @SmileWithGlenn
      @SmileWithGlenn  Год назад +1

      I would like to know your individual scores to really give you better feedback. The fact that you served in the military, will definitely be good for when you apply, dental schools will like this because it shows that you have discipline and will probably do good or great in dental school. So far in school, it is tough, constant studying (6 days a week, worse than undergrad hahaha). From what I know about you so far, I honestly think that you have a solid chance of getting it. Just make sure to apply to many schools, maybe like 20 in your case, and apply to OOS friendly schools.

      @@SmileWithGlenn Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read over my message. The feedback you shared gave me a little bit of hope. Would you like me to email you the scores I received on the DAT? Or would you want me to post it here? I have only applied to the four Texas programs since I live in Texas, and it's cheaper than most dental schools throughout the country. I know now that if I am not accepted this year, I will already technically have my application completed. I will be able to apply in early June of next year, and hopefully, this will work in my favor. I plan on applying to around 15 schools next year if needed. But as of now, I will keep praying I land a spot for the incoming 2027 cohort.
